  1. Just for the record, the gist of the Courier article is that CaleyD was asked to relinquish his post because he criticised the ownership of the club's stadium and its finances on a fan's website.

He will not now be allowed to continue the Twitter service, or be involved in plans to film home matches for the official Caley Thistle website.

"We parted company with Mr Johnstone because unhelpful and inappropriate comments were simply not conducive to an ongoing working relationship," said the club spokesman.

"He will not be undertaking any role for the club, though he is more than welcome at matches, as a paying customer."

The club hope to appoint a permanent successor for the stadium announcer's role, and has invited interested parties to get in touch. They are also keen to develop ways, electronically and by video highlights of benefitting supporters who cannot attend matches, and would be happy to hear from people who feel they could be of help in this respect, the spokesman added.

What I find interesting here, is that the un-named and anonymous spokesman described CD's comments as unhelpful and inappropriate, rather than untrue, or inaccurate.

Might I suggest a public show of support for Don at the next home game? Possibly everyone wearing colourful shirts, or T-Shirts that support him?

  2. It's not hard to win you over is it?

    :blah01:

Na, not entirely won over but you have to give the man some credit... we asked for a responce and he's given one. There are still a lot of unanswered questions but unless he is bare faced lying (always a possibility)... 2 very important facts to pick out from his statement:

    1) There is no debt

    2) There is money in the bank

Did the financials not show a different story though?

  3. Saw this tucked away in the stadium ownership thread and I think it deserves a thread all of its own.

    David Sutherland, The Scotsman interview.

    Please click, read and comment.

Good read that... Connsidering we were calling for some communication from the board, Sutherland has answered a lot of questions.

From what he says there we have no debt and money in the bank

Didn't the end of year finances show a completely different picture though?

  4. I think you will find you are wrong.

In terms of football, the strike rate is a goals per game ratio.

If you compare shots / goals then defenders would be the best strikers in the game. I would much rather my players were at least having shots and being in the position to score goals, then not even having the chances.

Rooney has a much better strike rate then Barrowman.

  6. Need to confirm with Roger but i'd imagine we'll be having a few pints before we leave central

We'll be having a few drinks before we leave Govan - Its my 35th birthday by the way.

Really? I don't think I have read that anywhere on this website before :)

I think I owe you a double voddy anyway.

  7. Seeing as there is a bunch of guys going through from Glasgow, I'll totally make an appearance, will be good to see the gang again.

Roger and co. I'll see you at Central. Are you having pre drinks in Central at all?

  8. So basically discovered that I am going to be up North for Valentines day with my girlfiend and I now need to find a good restaurant.

Obviously living in Glasgow, I don't know of any decent restaurants in the area, and my number one choice (Chapter One in Forres) is booked up, so I need suggestions and personal experiences.

Some things to note, it cannot be a bar that serves food, and has to be a proper restaurant. It's got to be good.

  9. I can tell you a local company that would do great pies. Two infact - Murdochs of Forres and Macleans the Bakers. Two of the best pies in the country.

Obviously there is going to be teething problems, but the new guys will know soon enough if there product isn't good enough.
