First Time at the Ground
There's Berties in the Railway Station, or if you turn right on to Academy Street when you leave the station there is the Exchange, or carry further on down the road there is Deanos Sports bar - a regular haunt of visiting football support. Witherspoons the last time I was in was like the village of the damned - full of junkies - maybe I just caught it on a bad day.

TODAYS ATTENDANCE
Quite worrying. Obviously it is difficult to pinpoint a definitive reason for this as there could be many variables at play here ie the current economic climate, high ticket prices and the fans discontent. However I do not think you can rule out the fans discontent as a major factor.

TODAYS ATTENDANCE
Sections within the North Stand were sparse indeed. I moved twice due to the number of Rangers fans around me - in games gone by moving would have being impossible

1st Division (one year only!).
Hibs cant remember the season 92/93 maybe?

1st Division (one year only!).
How is the Youth Programme funded - I always thought that it was predominantly self-sufficient as monies were raised through sponsorship and fundraising. I would assume the club have a budget for the Youth setup but I don't know how generous it would be.

Season tickets, dropping attendances.
Does anyone know how many season tickets we've sold this season, and if so how it compares to the last two seasons? I think I am about to join the Conspiracy theorists. As we all know Mr Sutherland is a very astute businessman whose specialist subject is accountancy. I don't doubt for one moment that Mr Sutherland at the beginning of each season does his own Breakeven Analysis assessing the number of season tickets, gate tickets, advertising board, corporate tickets etc we have to sell in order to breakeven. Now I can only make an assertion here but I think we are suffering from the law of diminishing returns were the club are applying the same amount of effort in terms as resources as in previous seasons but for less in return. I feel that Mr Sutherland may have carried out a brutal financial assesment on the club and concluded we are never going to be anything more than a 1st Division Club. Accountants like to play it safe and stay within their comfort zone, and maybe the financial demands of the SPL is making him feel rather uncomfortable. So rather than look for ways in which to increase revenues and expand the business (club), which invariably will carry risks (speculate to accumulate), he plays it safe by taking us down to a level were he thinks we can comfortably operate financially. I hope I am so way of the mark.

TODAYS ATTENDANCE
Todays attendance was 7056 compared with an attendance of 7753 for the same fixture last season in January. Now that is nearly a 10% decrease. Now if you take the lowest price ticket this equates to a loss of ?7318.50 in ticket revenue. If you take the highest price ticket this equates to a loss of ?16379.50 in ticket revenue. However if we take the ave ticket price this would equal a loss in ticket revenue of ?11849. Surely the board must sit up now and listen, surely there is no company out there at the moment that could sustain losses such as these. I also feel today there were more Rangers supporters than usual in our end.

Brewster's contract
........did they crack the bad news joke about Brewster extending his contract? Wonder how he took it!
-
Clear at the bottom?
...........we're bottom of the league. Hamilton are drawing with Aberdeen, and Falkirk are a goal to the good against Killie.

MR SUTHERLAND(TULLOCHS) ON NORTH TONIGHT
.....does Orion not have a turnover in excess of ?250,000,000 , twice that of Tullochs. Twice the turnover, twice the commitment, twice the power, twice the AMBITION !!!!!!!!!

walk out on sunday
I suppose the Evidence Gathering Team will be in attendance now at the TCS!!

Chairman backs manager....
All dictatorships come to an end and surely his little friend is soon to go into freefall !!
-
Chairman backs manager....
Not quite true Steve. He still has an investment that amounts to a 12% stake in the club. Alex I can assure you it is not an interest Thats rather disappointing .......because I think Savage just might have what it takes to take the club to another level (if not hindered by other parties) . He I think unlike the present board has AMBITION. I can assure you unlike other reports he is not interested in a power struggle Now what if it WASN'T a power struggle. What if all the present main players and major shareholder relinquished their interest and Mr Savage was given a free reign , bring in his own men etc. Now surely that would be an option.

MR SUTHERLAND(TULLOCHS) ON NORTH TONIGHT
I have another question. At what point does it make sense to move from the TCS to a smaller home ? A smaller home in what sense - IF we remain in the SPL there is a minimum all seater requirement. Also I would not consider TCS as a big stadium far from it!!

MR SUTHERLAND(TULLOCHS) ON NORTH TONIGHT
Sorry ... could you remind me of those assumptions or guide me to the other thread.

MR SUTHERLAND(TULLOCHS) ON NORTH TONIGHT
David Sutherland was on North Tonight accusing the Supporters Trust of scaremongering, landmarking and name-making. He also suggests that there is no crisis at the TCS and that the present board are capable and competent enough to deal with any situation that arises. I agree that there is not a crisis at the club at present but potentially we are in serious trouble and the situation could soon (very soon) become critical if changes are not made.

Boycott the Partick Thistle game?
Again a mass boycott is highly unlikely but there will be many who will stay away for various reasons - i think personally unless we produce something beyond belief against Rangers this game will attract a smaller than normal crowd for this kind of fixture. I for one will not be going as at this time of year the finances are fully stretched as it is. And the performances certainly do not justify the enterance fee.

walk out on sunday
I agree with you in a sense doofer about all this talk about what for of mass protest is best. I am of the view most protests staged at football matches are emotion filled spontaneaous acts. If we are winning on Sunday you're right nobody will walk out because thats what we pay our money for - to see our team win. However if we are losing (and quite considerably) you will see the stands begin to empty (whether it symbolises a protest or not) as supporters are (beginning to get) tiresome with defeat after defeat. Also if the results are not going our way - of course (and justly so) there will be chants against Brewster. I think the manager, players and board realise that we the supporters are unhappy and until something changes we the fans will continue to voice our concerns. A fool despises good counsel, but a wise man takes it to heart. -- Confucius The mistakes of the fool are known to the world, but not to himself. The mistakes of the wise man are known to himself, but not to the world. --Charles Caleb Colton Talk sense to a fool and he calls you foolish. - Euripides and last but not least hoping you are paying attention Mr Brew................ Quitters never win, winners never quit, but those who never win and never quit are idiots.

Howz The Pitch.
The pitch is probably the best thing that ICT have to offer at the moment - TC cetainly knows how to manage the turf!!!!!

SMILEYMOMETER
Porter - I think you'll find Porter plays for Motherwell and I doubt very much that Brewster would have any influence on what he does. Well maybe not entirely true - he certainly gifted Motherwell the three goals by playing players out of position!!!
