  1. Thats taking it a bit to far. Yes I agree that their is no need to be giving abuse to Kyle Alison. He is a Caley player and a promising one at that and should be given all the support he needs But I dont agree with what you say. When we sing songs that are offensive to other teams eg County or other players that are not a part of our team is just a bit of banter. It comes with football. The players should be expecting it and if they are not they really are stupid. Opposing players will always get abuse and I dont think there is anything wrong with that. Unless obviously it is racist chanting I dont agree with giving the abuse to our own players that is not on And people still can take their kids to their games. I was sitting behind a dad who took his little girl to the game must of been 4 or 5 years old and they were 1 row in front of all the people that were singing and there was a lot of abuse going about but it looked like they were having a great time and were not going to be put off by the swearing as lets be honest they are going to learn the words at some point I think that person might be me. I was also there with my 10yr old son. And yes we had a great time - my son and daughter join in all the songs missing out the expletives of course. Admittedly I did not join in the Allison abuse nor did I make judgement. I have been a Caley fan since the age of 6 and I remember many a season where at least one member of our squad has singled out for abuse, rightly or wrongly. I understand Allison is young and may make mistakes off the park but he must also learn to conduct himself in an appropriate manner. I personally think that if he is guilty of what is said then he would be foolish to think that nothing would come of it. For some the choice of words may have been too strong but I am sure they would have heard worse during their time. For me I particulary would not condone abusing one of our own players for their performance on the field and certainly would not join in any abuse that did not concern me. However players are always in the spotlight and when they step out of line or act irresponsibly - invariably there will be consequences. My children and I will be at most SFL grounds this season and certainly will not be put off by any chants or shouting. I know what to expect and my children know not to swear and understand what is acceptable behaviour .I can assure you they will hear and witness worse in the playground.
  2. Okay some of what is said is true - but can we make judgement after 1 competitive game. As far as I can see no 1st Division team did particularly well over the weekend. One thing for certain Barrowman is definitely not a striker!!!!!!
  3. Perhaps today against lower league opposition but I bet that if he is played regulary this season he will give away more goals than anyone else in the team Zadi is definitely not our worst defender (or player). Sometimes the criticism of him is unfair. The only criticism I would have today was his reluctance to run at Montrose. However his recovery from mistakes is excellent aided by his pace. Barrowman was in my eyes officially the worst Caley player on the pitch - couldn't read a book let alone a pass , and couldn't hit a barn door with the ball in a million years. Send him over the bridge - and no not the Kesssock Bridge but the Black Bridge!!!
  4. I read somewhere he earned in excess of 2k a week. Way over the odds. He's a 2nd Division Player until proven otherwise. Slash his wages to ?200pw with a lucrative goalscoring bonus.
  5. Your right every player in the team will make mistakes however like Lionel some are more heavily criticised than others by the fans. Lionel has been a revelation and has been a joy to watch. Yes he made a mistake today however he was put in a position where he had to make an instant decision albeit the wrong decision. If the centre halfs and the goalkeeper had done their jobs then Lionel wouldn't have been put in that position. I agree it is verging on pathetic critising him despite his excellent displays. I sincerely hopes he realises his full potential and may be talked about in years to come in legendary terms.
  6. It certainly does bode well for the future as Caley were all over Celtic from start to finish - only tiring in the second period of extra time. A thoroughly deserved victory - well done lads!!
  7. ........with a few more displays like the one witnessed today legendary status will beckon. Great heading, runs and timing, dribbling, trickery and the odd heart in the mouth moment - very tokleyesque!!!!!! A legend in the making - watch this space!!
  8. ..most are probably lacking competitive games, so probably wouldnt look to much into it. Definitely not many 1st team match minutes between them.
  9. Alan Smart also played for Watford in the Premiership.
  10. :shudder: .... Immortal Howden Ender ....... you are right !!! every interview with the man seems to be putting a smile on my face .... I liked his straight talking at Motherwell and in the last three days he has certainly talked a magnificent game. I know talk doesnt win games but it sounds like he is trying to raise everyone's spirits, from the staff, to the players, and certainly to the fans. He has acknowledged the fans role, the fact they deserve to see good performances, that he wants ICT to be hard to get points from again. He has talked of giving the senior players more responsibility (instead of the previous regime's ideas of shipping them out), of getting the "craic", and of standing by the three players who have signed PCAs (despite his previous comments as a pundit) ..... He has single handedly raised our PR quality by an infinite amount (not difficult when it was at zero) ....... Terry, you will do for me ! Welcome aboard HMS Sneck Admiral Butcher. Admittedly I was a bit dubious about Butchers' appointment however having watched and listened to his interviews I have been more than impressed with him. What a difference to listen to someone who is knowledgable, articulate and inspiring. If we somehow lose our SPL status - I know now we won't give it up without a fight! Welcome aboard Butcher.
  11. Butchers managerial record is mediocre to say the least. Also in his previous posts his man management skills came into question on numerous occasions!! Although I would like to remain upbeat, I do however think that this would be the wrong decision. If I had a choice between Butcher and Sutton - I would pick Sutton (despite his rookie status). How many people would get such resounding endorsements from one of the Premierships most talented managers, Martin O'Neill. Prior to been linked to the Inverness job the hosts on Sky Sports could not speak more highly of him and suggested that he could easily step into management at one of the top championship sides. Overall I dont think Butcher is the right choice - however I maybe wrong and if appointed I really hope I am wrong.
  12. Online translator converts your spanish to 'soccer allows them to play the park with ours sexy. five objectives please!' Can see that really turning Rossco on. Im sure Rossco would get the gist of it and proceed to score a hatrick adding to the two goals already scored! Result 5 objectives to nil!!
  13. les permite jugar al parque con nuestra sexy f?tbol. cinco objetivos por favor!
  14. ... I only hope we don't appoint Terry Butcher - his track record is not good and his man management skills have come into question in previous posts. However I do not care who they appoint as long as the can achieve retention of SPL status. Then at the end of the season we should go in pursuit new board members who will inject serious money and serious ambition into the club. It is no use aiming for 11th place each season. Bring back Alan Savage!
  15. ..........I don't think Butcher would be a good appointment at all. His track record is mediocre at best. He certainly wasn't liked at Brentford.
  16. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong but my recollection is that Brewster was in charge of US when dundee went down. And Brew was told to get rid of the high paid shirkers at DU. Brewster was in charge of us. Who was managing DU then?
  17. While i never seen the fighting or even handbags it may have happened but i dont understand this attitude of the board not caring about the club. Its there reputations at risk as well. They'll not want to be seen part of a club/business that hasnt succeded. I dont buy this stuff about the board not caring about the club as much as the fans. While we(supporters) feel that the next(only) step forward is to get rid of brew the board dont currently share that feeling for whatever reason! They may have someone in mind already or even asked someone on their feelings about taking on the job and they declined. We just dont know! If there is someone out there who can pull us out of this hole within our remit i cant believe for one minute that the board havent explored it! As i've said before give me a name to get out of this hole and lets get him in but until then we're stuck with the people that are doing their best to keep the club up. Any other suggestion about the people in charge not caring is just ludicrous! Would you rather be a director/chairman of an SPL or SFL club? Of course they're doing there upmost to keep the club up! The only exploration the most influencial board member does is the exploration of finest ales and beers at the heathmount - but of course he does this with the clubs best interests at heart !!! Im sure Sandy Shaw dedicated a song to him!!!
  18. Sounds like handbags at 20 paces to me. From a distance it looked like an exchange of words. Obviously Brewster strategically positioned a friend in amongst the support to issue a the following statement " how about backing him instead" when the chants of Brewster GTF . Nah lets get him to F now before we hit the 2nd division.
  19. I agree to a certain extent and as you imply we need a change in management to reignite the passion that these fighters in in our team require. However I think we've reached the point of no return....
  20. ...yes it was original - original for the ICT support... and maybe Scottish football. Just because it was the first time we have used the chant i hardly think that makes it original. Also of the top of my head aberdeen have used the chant this season on a few occasions even at TCS so its still not even original for the SPL. Just like most of our songs/chants we've adapted them from poppular football songs and there is no problem with that as everybody does it but to say its original is just stupid! Anyway i think we have more troubles than wondering if our chants are original or not at the moment. ....I've not seen any opposing fans at TCS remove their shoes and wave them in the air.... please feel free to correct me if im wrong Sail them home with Acquiesce On a ship of hope today And as they land upon the shore Tell them not to fear no more Say it loud and sing it proud And they... (will all take their shoes off and wave them in the air) Well aberdeen certainly sang it in inverness less than a month ago. "Shoes off if u love the dons" or something similar. Believe me or not - I cant say it overly bothers me. Also it dddoes not overly bother me but I reitirate that although Aberdire fans sang the song at TCS I did not see them remove their shoes and wave them in the air. Then again my season tickets are in the Nnnorth Stand and my view may not be as good as yours. I'm only asking if they waved their shoes in the air. Yes they did, you should maybe go to specsavers to get them retinas checked as the advert suggests! If your stuttering letters are in reference to me not fixing the extra p in popular then i do apologise and i'll have to admit u r the wittiest person i have ever met coz i've never seen that done on another forum. Then again originality clearly isnt your strong point. Apologies if it aint aimed at me! Sorry but it was not aimed at you. But sincerely, thanks for putting me right, I honestly did not see them wave their shoes in the air despite been at the game. So what was original to me is evidently not original at all ... but hey I found it rather amusing nevertheless. In future I will certainly address my originality issues! Sorry mate i thought it was a wee remark aimed at me. I do apologise i've not been on the board long so dont know the ongoing jokes. Only joined last week to see what other fans were saying about the state we are in at the moment. I dont have much to go on down here in glasgow. Still it was a strange topic for my first post considering the mess we are in. Dont get me wrong while i feel it will do nothing to persuade the board to relieve the man of his duties it was highly amusing! If not completely original! No bother ... I agree there's more pressing issues at the moment than the originality of waving shoes in the air! But thanks for clearing the air (from the odour of smelly socks)!

  23. ..........and your point is ? Who cares what Brewster thinks - it was pure entertainment - a bit of originality - something that helped detract from a dull game and atrocious conditions. Any Videos??? Aye ok , whatever turns you on ...maybe the boot wrapped round your head protest would be more apt for you! Make your points on the subject of the thread. Do not turn it into a personal arguement and do not make threats or you will be banned. There certainly was no threat made only a friendly suggestion that the user Fanofffooty would much prefer using vocally the "old Howden End " favourite as a way of venting frustration. So I think any THREATS of banning are very much out of order. Wilsononourwing Get it right , there's only 3 f's in Fanoffooty Moderators is there any ruling on discrimination agggainst those with stammers iff so please see previous pppost. Anyway back to orrriginal thread .... I have never seen a mass removal of footwear at a ffootballl match befffore therefore it was original to me and I found ittt amusing .
