  1. I'll be popping along. Pretty poor weather for it. I like Inveruries ground. In fact I like going to all of these so called "smaller teams" grounds. Makes you miss the days of terracing.
  2. Sorry I should have been clearer RE: Cowie. While he certainly got about he was caught in possession a lot of the time, dithered on the ball and just didn't appear very sharp. That will come with more games.

Maybe he thinks that he has the best chance of getting a game with us as opposed to the others? He didn't feature today. Maybe he will tomorrow though.
  4. True. On the other hand Dargo was meant to have had horrendous injury problems before he came to us. He turned out fine.
  5. No trialists for us today. The right back looked good. Leslie played well when he came on. Excellent first touch. Was impressed with MacDonald as well. Seems to be slow getting going but does have a good turn of pace when he reaches full speed. Good footwork as well. Disappointed with Cowie but perhaps when he gets nearer full fitness we'll see a better performance. That Ref was pish! MacDonald got leathered in the Keith box and he gave goal kick! :015: He did get it right eventually when Rankin got booted in the face in the Keith box as well and we finally got a penalty. I think Rankin has been hanging out with Jimmy Calderwood - he was glowing orange :015:

They can probably offer 5x more than we can minimum.
  7. Odd logic. Perhaps we shouldn't play at all in case he gets injured :015:
  8. Who's playing who at the dinner then?
  9. I don't think so so as he has signed a professional deal therefore cannot appear as a trialist/amateur as Dempsey did for Aberdeen.
  10. I think it's the same with all Friendlies - the lads just turn up in 1 - 11 and the subs are 12 - however many subs we have.
  11. Good post - fully agree with that. I am pretty sure that the Celtic team didn't moan when Larsson was on his £xx,000 a week deal and they were winning everything in Scotland. Of course there will be differences in what players earn. I think it's just not been much of an issue at ICT until now. It's almost an unusual situation for us to be in. How often do we sign international players? :015: Not read the Retards story but I guess it's much the same as this: *Ian Blacks Take On Things*
  12. Yeah someone mentioned it in this thread I think. Like you say it is The Sun and they do have a habit of, well, talking crap.
  13. That's what I thought but I wasn't 100% sure hence why I needed it cleared up. Cheers! :003:
  14. I lol'd!
  15. First off, with all due respect, I don't believe that story. Second, he will be getting paid more and there is a reason for that. He is of more value to ICT than some of the others are. Would the same players be greeting if Dargo had signed his bumper deal?
  16. No (probably), yes and yes respectively.
  17. 1/3 of those were from the subs bench :004: So basically they are capitilising on his continual missed chances? :004: Fair do's. I just don't think that makes a good player myself. I prefer my strikers to finish off the chances they get like Dargo, Wyness, Bayne, McSweg...... :015:
  18. Am I right in saying that the temp stand that will be erected for the SS will not be used as a SS for this particular game?
  19. He has come close to breaking into the Scotland squad and regularly features in B (or are they called Future?) Internationals, he is now also his clubs captain and a star player for them. Has any other ICT player achieved anything like this since leaving us? Of course his tempter is still suspect at times but I can't think of another ICT player/manager who has not fallen from grace since leaving us.
  20. That's very high praise indeed for a bit part player at Celtic. I'm not sure either that whether he has a great level of versatility to be honest or whether the fact that he has pace makes him a good player. He is a striker, he is paid to put the ball in the net and he does currently not do that for his club (4 goals in 31 games according to Wiki). Admittedly I don't know how many assists he has. Can you provide this? I doubt they would be more than say Nakamura. Certainly on current form there is no way he can be considered the best player in Scotland.
  21. He is pretty much the only ICT player to have gone on and done just as well if not better since leaving ICT in the long term. Someone like Paul Sheerin did well for a while after leaving Inverness but hasn't sustained it. I can't think of anyone else who has actually enjoyed sustained success as a player or manager since leaving ICT apart from Robson.
  22. Indeed quite a few have them. I came across David Craigs one the other day - he is on Cyrpus now plying his trade there. *P & J Article* Niculae talks about the SPL being his style and how he hopes to do well. I think this is a huge signing for ICT in that I think it will encourage more folk along to the games to see him. Indeed you could argue he is one of the biggest names transferring into the SPL this summer.
  23. What about all the ICT players that have Bebo pages? :004:
  24. I don't see why a striker who runs about a lot but doesn't score should be idolised. For me it would have to be Barry Robson. Quality left winger with a wicked delivery and a real menace at set pieces. Perhaps the only player/manager to have left ICT and bettered himself in the long term.
  25. Keith has some good barns which you could stay in before popping along to Inverurie. I hope to take in both of these ones. Hasn't Craig MacMillan gone to Inverurie? (or was it Huntly?)
