  1. Official site - John Docherty comments Getting the players spirits up for Saturday's game seems a strange comment.... PS - Sutherland out for 3 weeks after training injury....
  2. CD - I totally agree - as an Ipswich fan I have total respect for Terry Butcher the player - he has good contacts both north and south of the border but I do not think he is the right appointment for us....
  3. Would he be allowed on a plane looking like this.... We can't say he didn't give his all.... Basis of a design for that all white new away strip - just a little too much red in it maybe....
  4. Yip - that will do nicely with goals from Black and Rooney....
  5. Times Article The article in the Times would seem to suggest that Butcher is still based in the SE of England.... Times Review of Four in the Frame Terry Butcher - The Scotland assistant manager is known to want to get back into club management. He is also said to be Inverness Caledonian Thistle?s wanted man. But would he be prepared to be based in Inverness? Some believe that the geography alone might put him off. John Robertson - The former Heart of Midlothian and Scotland striker has already been an Inverness manager (from 2002-04) and was deemed to have done a good job. He would love the job back, but doubts are said to persist in the Inverness boardroom about bringing him back. Still has a base in Inverness but not the favourite. Archie Knox - The perennial No 2 and drill-sergeant of the Scottish game is back on the market after being sacked by Blackburn Rovers. Knox suffers a bad press as a ?yesterday?s man? but some of the most respected names in football ? not least Sir Alex Ferguson ? claim he knows the game inside out. In his favour, Inverness want experience at the helm. Derek McInnes - Is seen as the coming man of Scottish managers, having fashioned St Johnstone into an attractive and successful side in his 14 months in charge at McDiarmid Park. But relative inexperience counts against him.
  6. Now that's a better list - the new manager is in that one....
  7. It has started and now there will be quite a few more coming out and having their say. I thought the comments made by both players though have been quite honest but respectful and hopefully it stays that way. It will be good to see Black back in the starting 11 and what better place than at Tynecastle and a goal....
  8. Blimey an ICT fan in Manc ! You do realise that for nearly 40 years there were 2 of us!! Tell me, do you dress to the blue or the red side........? Sorry to disappoint you but neither - if pushed for a preference though I would come down on the light blue side. My wife's first game at the new stadium was a 3-0 humping of united but unfortunately for me I was away with work so missed that experience. As Old Trafford is only a couple of stops on the tram for me I tend to go down there when I am here.... Just heard that Robinho has walked out on city - the saga continues....
  9. I can't believe that - not even Hughes would be seen inside the Stonemasons Arms - if you had said The Orange Tree then I might have believed you.... :thumb04:
  10. Elvis Costello's PUMP IT UP rip off - like others though it gets better with a few listens but wouldn't say it is a classic....
  11. likewise in the book depository.... :thumb04:
  12. David Winters I believe.... Livi Signings
  13. Herr B - suggest you read the latest BBC Chick Young blog to see how a football reporter (allegedly) can indeed self harm but not know it....
  14. In that article has Terry's head grown or is it just a bad cut and paste?
  15. Until reading the U19 thread I had forgotten all about Alec Cleland (ex pro - North and South of the border with good coaching experience at Livi and ICT) - could he be given the job until the end of season with CC and A N OTHER in a support role....?
  16. OR Alec Cleland....
  17. WOT no Colin Calderwood
  18. Don't usually read anything Chick writes but gave this one a go - deary me makes Herr Bannerman's efforts look like Shakespeare.... The famous Walter Smith interview just sums him up.... Walter v Chick He has been backing us for the drop every season since we arrived in the SPL and now he thinks he is going to be right - yet another reason to get off the bottom (and take home the Scottish Cup preferably aginst St.Mirren)
  19. Alex an admirable post that I agree with - but leopards and spots come to mind for some - it is just a question of who or what will be next - that is the power the internet has given.... Anyway as you say let's hope for a new level of togetherness at Tynecastle that ends in 3 points
  20. Just like the clip they are using on BBC News 24 sports at the moment sadly....
  21. Starchief - good post - I don't think anybody at the club (including Craig Brewster) was not doing everything they believed would improve our position but as we know everybody has their limitations. I do think though over the coming weeks there will be a lot more being said about some of the differences of opinions behind the scenes that eventually lead to today's announcement.... GJ - just read your post also - spot on.

Colin Calderwood would be an excellent appointment but not sure if we could afford his salary....
  23. This is a great signing for them - a good piece of business - they will probably have him playing alongside Brewster....
  24. Firstly Butcher - great player - a great manager NO Robbo - don't think he will be offered it but would not be disappointed if he was CC - should definitely be given interim charge of team - club should not be looking any further Long term replacement - it is unusual for a club these days not to have a replacement in the wings when this occurs but then again I didn't expect them to force Brewster out so who knows.... May have previously said Collins but he is now in Belgium with Charleroi but if the club are really considering Butcher (surely this is just a rumour) then Calderwood (Colin) may be equally as feasible....

Just looked at Nottingham Forrest results since they changed manager!! Guess what....4 wins in a row!!!!!!!!!!!!! They have not added any players, the same team...just a different manager Agree that a change in Manager can make a difference (sometimes only short term though) but don't see many prime candidates out there - we tend to only remember the successes though.... Being following Forest quite closely this season and I don't think they should have sacked Calderwood - the way they had being playing this season I didn't think they would be relegated and it has just taken them a while to get used to the change in divisions. They now have another excellent manager in Billy Davies and he will benefit from this.... Would love to see Calderwood at ICT but there is no way we could ever afford him or his backroom team.... PS - re previous posts - Clough's first official game in charge of Derby was Saturday and they got beat 2-0 - I do think that he will turn them around also but maybe not this season....
