  1. Half Man Half Biscuit - still on the go
  2. KC: What the feck is that? GB: I thought you said you wanted us to look like Rangers next season KC: Nah ya numpty I said I wanted us to play like Rangers next season
  3. Not forgetting All Saint's Day
  4. I am glad to see the club listened to the fans opinions....
  5. B*gger me - all this time waiting and it's still not finished....
  6. Truly awful (woops nearly said Truely Blue) PS - so much for the stripes and keeping our identity - somebody at the club really has no idea about branding - shocking decision
  7. Rajah behind the post office for yer curry and beers.... http://www.rajahindianrestaurant.com/ ....and then stumble across the road to Hootananny's for yer nightlife.... http://www.hootanann....uk/index-2.php
  8. Will they not just move one of them to Saturday/Sunday/Monday as applicable when there is a clash. Not much chance of Rangers and Celtic being in the same city on their travels this season I would have thought though. Agree that there is a requirement for clarity - one of the first new rules to be written is to make it clear for the next time this scenario occurs.
  9. Post today on response to article from KentOnline about Simon King having a trial with us at the weekend. Sounds promising.... http://www.kentonline.co.uk/kentonline/sport/2012/july/16/simon_king.aspx we should not have released kingy still a class act at our level, his new cotnract would have been for less money and apeparance based, he openly admitted he would haev stayed on such a deal this one will come back to bite us as frampton is past it and you cannot put the weight of expectations on a 19 year old's shoulders in essam but if we had kept him it would have been an admission by our ex manager that he wasa wrong in dropping him for the ineffective and liability that if fampton, so he was released to save face anyone who doesn't think hessenthaler is like that is diluded, you only have to look at him making matt lawrence his scapegoat midway through last season to see that - plays the guy out of position where the player himself would admit he struggles, then publically lambasts him when he.........wait for it...struggles hess may love the club but his ego will always come first simon, good luck, you deserve a good team and success and thanks for eveything, a true gills legend who handled his situation with professionalism and dignity, dodgy haircuts aside!
  10. Watching the golf on the old box last night I could have sworn I saw them readying a large barrel just across the water
  11. Option two it is then....now where is that land line number for Hampden....
  12. From Wikipedia - now I am confused.... In J. R. R. Tolkien's legendarium, the Rangers of the North, also known as the Dúnedain of the North, were the descendants of the Dúnedain from the lost kingdom of Arnor. Their menfolk ceaselessly patrolled the boundaries of Eriador and were by necessity skilled with the sword, bow and spear. The Rangers were grim in life, appearance, and dress, choosing to wear rusty green and brown. The Rangers of the Grey Company were dressed in dark grey cloaks and openly wore a silver brooch shaped like a pointed star during the War of the Ring. These Rangers rode rough-haired, sturdy horses, were helmeted and carried shields. Their armament included spears and bows. Like their distant cousins, the Rangers of Ithilien, the Rangers of the North spoke Sindarin (or some variation of it) in preference to the Common Speech. They were led by a Chieftain, whose ancestry could be traced back to Elendil and beyond, to the ancient Kings of Númenor. During the War of the Ring, the Rangers of the North were led by Aragorn, but the northern Dúnedain were a dwindling and presumably widely scattered folk: when Halbarad received a message to gather as many of the Rangers as he could and lead them south to Aragorn’s aid, only thirty men (the Grey Company) were available at short notice for the journey. The Grey Company met up with Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli at the Fords of Isen in Rohan, and at Pelargir, along with the Dead Men of Dunharrow, they captured the ships of Umbar. The Dead Men then departed and the others continued on to fight in the Battle of the Pelennor Fields. There, Halbarad was killed. They are also mentioned as part of the army Aragorn commanded at the Battle of Morannon. Are the 'Dead Men of Dunharrow' our friends from across the Bridge? PS - I realise that by doing this I may have brought this thread too close to Dougal's favourite terminology
  13. I agree - new firm derbies all over again Interestingly though why has the newco delegation turned up at the SPL AGM meeting this morning at Hampden and been allowed admission
  14. I still think there will be a few short term loan signings - it may just be that after King we see no more 12-month permanent deals - we shall see soon enough....
  15. Just got me thinking - what are the odds on.... Scottish Cup - Rangers v Celtic; and League Cup - Celtic v Rangers ....in one of the rounds in each competition After that all you need is a home and away game in an all singing all dancing new Glasgow Cup and there you go four derbies for our friends at Sky.... ....or even better why don't the SPL just create a new Glasgow Challenge Cup for the next few seasons played between two well supported teams from Glasgow over 4 matches throughout the season.... Simples
  16. All the other SPL teams new kits are included here - I think I am right in saying we are the only one not yet included.... http://www.footballk...premier-league/ Aberdeen - Adidas Celtic - Nike Dundee - Puma Dundee Utd - Nike Hearts - Adidas Hibs - Puma ICT - Errea Kilmarnock - Killie 1869 Motherwell - Puma Ross County - Diadora St. Mirren - Diadora St. Johnstone - Joma
  17. May well be but I sense others may be in a lot worse shape come the season kick-off
  18. Following on from the Hearts and Dundee Utd announcements it was good to see a positive statement from the club following our own board meeting and more importantly a toning down of the 'we are all doomed' language. Even though things may well be a lot tougher what is needed is positive thinking (and actions). http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11781/7903418/Inverness-stand-by-newco-snub By the way there was more than 10,000 at the Dundee derby friendly at the weekend. There is still a market for football in Scotland - it just needs the right structure put in place to allow it to flourish and now is the opportunity to do just that.
  19. Quite astonsihing and what if what they proposed did happen and they still did not go up - what amendment would they then have drafted to ensure promotion. Two new words for the SPL for their next AGM 'Risk Assessment' and as the old adage goes 'expect the unexpected'. The blind leading the blind comes to mind.
  20. Highland News match report.... http://www.highland-news.co.uk/Sport/Football/Inverness-Caley-Thistle/Nick-Ross-makes-difference-for-ICT-at-Elgin-14072012.htm
  21. Apologies in advance but just could not resist....
  22. Dundee Utd have now released a statement also saying no to a SPL2 and football needs to move forward with the new Rangers in Division 3. Both they and Hearts want to make their positions clear before Monday's meeting. After today's board meeting maybe we should be doing the same
  23. Cheers - I suspect the centre half would have been Simon King
