  1. I'd have Brewster back anyday. Although he had a shocker at Dundee Utd, he did good for us and i would like to see how he will do with a newer squad than he had. I think it is unlikely John Robertson will be back as he recently took over at Derry City. Craig Brewster is my preffered choice but wouldn't complain if Patterson got the job. .
  2. Just shows how much pressure and responsbility being a football manager is. Charlie left because of personal reasons which suggests family and maybe not seeing enough of them, he himself knows the reason why he left and best of luck to him in the future. Came as a right shock to me, I thought this would be a good sesaon for CC even though Caley have gotten off to a shaky start. I did wonder why he did not speak to the press after the match or do his article in the P&J. Just wonder who the board decide to take on now as manager. I heard that Steve Paterson is a strong candidate. Interesting to see who the board pick. Good luck Charlie and all the best for the future
  3. Outplayed by St Mirren... St Mirren also had 2 very good chances to add to their tally. This is absolutey sh**e CC. 3 games gone, 7 conceded 2 scored. ICT are now bottom of the SPL. If Caley keep turning in these results then we are in for a long long season...
  4. Don Cowie the scorer - Niculae set it up. C'mon 2-1 we can do it!
  5. Playing well apparently... Mcaffery's mistake which led to goal
  6. Fraser Tokely McCaffery Munro Hastings Hart Black Cowie Rankin Niculae Bayne
  7. :008: :008: :008: 5 goals conceded in 2 matches is not good enough. As kencar said, we always concede late goals. After Tokely voleyed in a good goal, caley just laid back a bit and were punished. Shaky defence work I must say. CC really needs to sort out the squad and find out what is the best starting team and who plays best in different positions. I know it is very early days yet but if Caley keep these type of results up, we are in for a long season.. We need to get 3 points next week at St Mirren as it will provide a morale boost and a platform to build on but as I said the squad needs to be sorted out. Hopefully CC will have signed at least 1 new defender by that stage. Caley did play well today up unitll Motherwell scored, a lot better than last week. CC can taek some positives from the game.
  8. 2 new defenders is a priority. Midfield is defintitely fine and up front should be fine if niculae gets his permit. A new central defender is urgently needed now!
  9. Fraser Tokely McCaffery Munro Hastings Sutherland Black Hart Rankin Bayne Niculae If Niculae doesn't get a permit in time then McDonald instead of Niculae We really need a new central defender because Caff just doesn't seem to be able to fill Dods's boots but as Scotty said we don't have any other defenders to choose from.
  10. Totaly dissapointed with our performance today. Charlie got the tactics all wrong and the defence was terrible and never looked in control and the second goal was shocking and Tokely's backpass for the third goal was unlike him. I hate to say it but we missed Dods today... I know CC was short of strikers but why oh why did he start McAllister he made absoultely no impact on the game at all and putting Wilson upfront at the end was another bad desicion. On the bright site Mike Fraser looked good in the nets even though he conceded 3 goals which were all very good goals. He saved a few shots superbly and was probably our only player who put in a good performance and convincing. It seemed like no Caley player bar Fraser was interested in the game. Even though it is early early days of the season, im sure CC will be not pleased with todays performance at all and the defence needs sorted out as i am sure we will score the goals once we have Niculae, McDonald, Wyness and Bayne all available and 100% fit. CC should stop ersing aboot and sign a central defender because our defence was crap today and McCaffery does not look capable to fill Dods's boots.
  11. Says in today's P&J "Christie is satisfied with the additions he has made to his squad, but may yet realease a couple of players in midfield, where Caley Thistle have an abundance of talent. "There is the possibility before the end of the window someone might go," said Christie. "I would equate that to Liam Fox this time last year. He looked at the bigger picture and realised he was not going to figure too much and he wanted to step on and did so at Livingston. I have not specified anybody, I hasten to add, but I think one of the midfielders, if not more, may feel he is not going to get the fullest opportunity". I'm wondering who it may be :024: :024: :024: Perhaps Alan Morgan but he has recently just signed a 6 month contract so i dunno....
  12. Yeah i agree the first 70 minutes were definately not the best football i've seen ICT play. Still though a fairly good performance after that.
  13. I posted that, but if you read what was really written, I said County play during the season as they did today we should be all right, but if Caley play as they did then we could well see a return of the Highland derby the follwoing season. By that I ment we are looking for promotion. And if we play as we did then we have a good chance of it. As for Caley I thought for the first 70 minutes you were awful - considering you are two divisions higher than us - you only had two or three shots on goal the whole first half. I know pre-season games are meaningless in terms of results, but if you defend next week against Rangers as you did today in the first half, then you may need your second hand to county the Rangers goals ! As for the game it wasn;t the usual pre-season glorified training session, which I assume was of benifit to both clubs. Same story from County though, wated chances and fell asleep for 10 minutes - happened every game last season ! Well considering we didn't have 3 main strikers in the squad (Bayne, Niculae, Mcdonald) it is hardly suprising that we didn't have too many shots on goal. Also, how can you possibly question Caley's defence. We didn't have Tokely due to injury and even without him I thought we played well enough. And if we were so "awful" in the first 70 minutes then why didnt Ross County find the back of the net?? "Wasted chances"? I didn't see County exactly make too many threatining attacks but their goal was decent enough after we didnt properly deal with the pass through. Our 2 goals were good enough and if I were you jailender I would be more concerned with your own defence rather than ours. County's marking at the corners was dodgy to say the least. I agree that CC wouldn't have been too pleased with our first half performance as we are capable of better. Considering our record against Rangers last season I find it rather funny that you believe that Rangers will rule the game. Also, at least we are playing a team such as Rangers whereas you County Clowns are playing Ayr. Good luck in your bid to stay in the second division ye bunch of erses, no chance of any highland derby soon at all.
  14. Completely disagree with that, Fraser is a good established first team SPL keeper and is getting better all the time. I agree that Bullock would be good for backup to Fraser as I think he is a fair bit better than Ridgers.
  15. Possibly could turn out to be a good formation after all our midfield are good at attacking and crossing so all you need is 5 attackers to plant 1 pinpoint pass to Wyness and the ball will be in the back of the net. Saying that, most midfielders in the squad have showed us last season that they can score from outside the box... so yeah 4-4-1-1 is a good possibility. IMO Richie would be the best option for AMC
  16. :crazy07: :crazy07: :crazy07: :crazy07: :crazy07: :rotflmao: :015: dods gave away the penalty :clapping03: :clapping03:
  17. 2-1 against Peterhead is a dissapointing result by all means but at least it gives CC an acknowledgement about where his tactics went wrong. I heard that Ridgers didn't have the best of games but caley should have beem getting a few on the scoresheet against a 2nd division team such as peterhead.
  18. Phil Marsh - Fill ma arse :crazy07: :crazy07: :crazy07:
  19. They can probably offer 5x more than we can minimum. Wouldn't suprise me that they could offer better contracts but apparently he was offered trials at tranmere and huddersfield but decided to come on a trial to ICT instead. He could still go on trial to the other teams though, but if he decided to come on trial to ICT first, it kind of suggests that he is interested in signing for us.
  20. Think he would have the sense to sign for us as we are an SPL side than huddersfield or tranmere rovers in league 1. Then again I may be mistaken because John Sutton prefered league 2 in england than SPL in Scotland. Hope we get him though. Another good signing if Christie signs him :022:
  21. Link BBC and "SPORTFIVE" (for coverage overseas) agreed broadacsting deals for SPL matches. A bit of competition now from the BBC and STV for coverage of SPL matches.
  22. Crap, I thought it was what team do you hate the most thats why I voted for Celtic cos I can't stand their fans. But the team I hate least would probably be Falkirk or Aberdeen but I do find John Hughes a bit of a at times but their fans are all cool
  23. Fraser Tokely McCaffrey Munro © Hastings Cowie Black Rankin McBain Wyness McDonald Subs: Ridgers Duff Sutherland Wilson (Subbed for Cowie at some stage) Duncan Bayne (Subbed for McDonald at some stage) Paatelainen
  24. Yeah, but the bus is free to the stadium - no cost at all!
