  1. penalty. Devine brings down Sutton. Goal 1-0 (Sutton) 3 mins
  2. Inverness come back falls just short It only took Inverness three minutes to concede at Fir Park when John Sutton scored from the spot after he had been fouled by Ross Draper. Inverness struggled to make much headway and Motherwell doubled their lead from an unexpected source, Gary Warren heading home an own goal superbly after half an hour. Graeme Shinnie took the bull by the horns and drove at the Well defence before firing the visitors back into the game ten minutes into the restart. This sparked Inverness into life and they took the game to Motherwell, but despite dominating the second half they just failed to get back on level terms, and it was summed up When Billy McKay hit the post deep into injury time.. A crowd of 4482 saw Motherwell's last home game and that included 80 Inverness fans, and one snare drum, and they also saw Iain Vigurs and Stephen McManus have a go at each other to add to the occasion ....................................... ICTRoughi will tell us how it all unfolded CaleyAway has closed the curtains for the final time of season 2013/2014. What a memorable season it has been for the CaleyAway troops with many highs and some lows. The final destination was Fir Park against high flying Motherwell who had secured European football for next season after Aberdeen beat Dundee United 3-1 at Tannadice. Well done to Motherwell! The Caley Jags made two changes from the side that got a draw against Dundee United last Saturday. Caley Thistle welcomed back stand out right back David Raven to the team also stalwart defender Gary Warren returned. Josh Meekings was still struggling for fitness meaning that Danny Devine was given another chance to impress Yogi adding to the defending options. Danny Williams and goal scorer from last weekend Ryan Christie were dropped to the bench. Stuart McCall named an unchanged team from the side that got the victory over St Johnstone last Saturday. I got into Fir Park and read the programme only to be disappointed to see who the referee was for the game and you guessed it, Willie Collum. What a nightmare. If I knew a couple of days ago I would have made a trip to the bookies to stick on an Inverness red card, he seems to have something against us. The last two games he has refereed he has sent off three of our players in the two games! Motherwell kicked off the first half and we played with very nice passing football until Willie Collum decided that the headlines weren't about him and decided to give Motherwell a penalty - shock horror. Ross Draper tripped John Sutton in the 3rd minute in the box gifting the 'Well an early chance to gain an advantage over Inverness. Sutton converted very convincingly to send the Motherwell faithful into jubilation mode. To further the disappointment, Iain Vigurs crossed the ball into the box from a corner; unfortunately Warren sends the ball in to our net. Lionel Ainsworth came close to adding to the woes with a great effort, smashing the ball off the crossbar in the 36th minute of the game. At this point you just got the feeling it wasn't going to be our day. HT Motherwell 2-0 Inverness CT A special mention to CaleyThistleOnline’s young member ‘CaleyCalum’ who participated in the half time entertainment of rolling a giant inflatable ball into the goal from the half way line. Calum was against a Motherwell fan to see who could roll it into the goal the quickest with the winner receiving a whopping £150. Calum was unfortunately beaten to it by roughly 15 seconds but it was a valiant effort by him nonetheless. The Caley Jags got the game restarted and we seemed to play with more urgency about us which we were sadly lacking in the first half. Stand in captain Graeme Shinnie drove through the middle leaving Craig Reid in his trail. Shinnie went for a long ranged shot from 20 yards which took a deflection to reach the middle of the goal past Lee Hollis to make it 2-1. The goal gifted the team a ray of hope to show there was still life in Caley Thistle and we seemed to be well up for a fight. Game on! In the 58th minute Greg Tansey had a well struck shot from distance needing Hollis to get both his hands to it. Tansey again delivered the ball into the box in the 61st minute for Warren to get a head to it to try and redeem himself from the earlier own goal but it was agonisingly close over the crossbar. We continued to dominate the possession and never gave Motherwell a look in – we looked like we should have been 3-0 up! Aaron Doran tried to get the ball into the box in the 80th minute with a really strong case of handball when the ball connected with Shaun Hutchinson’s hand but the claims were denied and Inverness were given the corner instead. Tansey delivered a decent cross to be met by a rushing Gary Warren but it was déjà vu for the Caley Jags defender Greg Tansey had a well struck free kick through the middle in the 85th minute which rocketed at goal only for Hollis get his feet to save it from going in to the ‘well net. – Lucky bar stewards! Billy Mckay was fed the ball from a header by Tansey only to hit the ball off the post in time added on. I give up with football! The annoying thing that I took away from Fir Park last night was the fact the best team didn’t win. FT Motherwell 2-1 Inverness CT My overall thoughts of the game is that I felt the first half we were sitting too deep and passing about at the back too much meaning we were inviting too much pressure to gift Motherwell two easy goals. The second half was pretty much a replica of the first half of last Saturday and that's how I really want us to play with great intensity getting the ball forward causing trouble for the opposition. I really don’t understand this Jekyll and Hyde thing we have going on at the moment! We gave it a right good go right enough but the effort of the lads should be applauded rather than looking at the defeat. I am most definitely looking forward to the final home game of the season on Sunday with St Johnstone with the fight for fifth place at stake – you don’t want to miss it! Roughi's Ratings:- Brill - 6 - Made some really good saves to keep us in the game Raven - 7 - Good to have Raven back and made some timely tackles Warren - 6 - Scored an OG but was still making good tackles and couple of decent headed chances Devine - 6 - Had a good game but at times we were missing Meekings although I really like how Devine plays the game Tremarco – 6 – Played his usual game, got caught out at times, had a headed chance in the second half Draper - 6 - Solid enough through the middle, caught out giving away the penalty but good through the middle Tansey - 7 - I am really liking Tansey in this team. He has been a good signing but just needs to start cracking the ball outside the box more than he does because he can score from distance – very close last night Watkins - 6 – Overall good performance from Watkins being a general pest for the ‘Well defence Doran - 6 – Same as Watkins, a pest for the Motherwell defence. Shinnie - 8 – Stand out performance from Graeme. Attacking and defending I just thought he was superb – Good goal too! Mckay - 6 – Again the lack of support up front hindered Mckay but he gave it his all as usual and nearly scored but unfortunately the ball hit post instead of the net. Subs: Williams - 6 – He shown some good pace at times as he usually does and brought some good attacking options when he came on Christie - 6 – Same as Williams, helped with the attacking options the role behind Mckay and shown some nice touches. MOTM: Graeme Shinnie – His overall game was just superb both in attacking and defending. Good chance outside the box and scored a good goal to boost the morale within the squad. I just really hope we keep a hold of him over the summer – very consistent player! 4. mmm, a toughie, but I would like the Staggies to squeak this one. Its good for the coffers, pisses off the central belt establishment, and gives some bragging rights to ICT next season when we pump them 3 times .... and as much as "the Seethe" is a deeply unpleasant wee nyaff, it would be far more enjoyable to see the turncoat Butcher squirming right to the end.

Sad news indeed. Having lost my own sister to cancer at 22, I know that losing a sibling/child at such a young age is devastating to a family both now and in the future when those left behind look around and wonder what might have been. My thoughts and best wishes are with the Baltacha family now and for the years to come. Also think it entirely appropriate for ICT and St Johnstone to show respect in some way at the forthcoming game given the Baltacha connection to both clubs.

Current form guide has Hibs in the playoff spot. 6 defeats in their last 6 games, winless in 10, and only 2 wins in 2014 (V Hearts & County) Back quick sticks? As mentioned above, in a league with some pretty strong contenders, perhaps not !!! and as I am sure Heilandee will testify, and Butcher said it himself when we were there, if you dont get out at the first attempt, then it gets harder each year due to the gulf in finances. Butcher has done what before? taken over a team and been relegated the same season? yup, he has right enough. the difference this time is that it IS his fault. Oh, you mean promotion .... yup he did but you are comparing apples and oranges (literally). In our promotion year Dundee's bottle crashed and there was no-one else that was a realistic contender, next year, there are a few and even if one fell by the wayside others wont. anyway, this is not about Butcher its about Hughes and we are once again getting dragged off topic.

Doran - contracted to end of 2015/16. The rest all contracted to the end of 2014/15 ... so any summer move is going to cost Hibs. Cannot see them paying out for 5 ICT players especially as Butcher has probably been told to do what he did here and unearth cheap/free gems ! Besides ... why would they want to drop down a division ?
  10. Scotty replied to a post in a topic in Caley Thistle
I am rapidly coming to the conclusion there is not !!! The mods have been spending more time hiding posts and dealing with personal abuse than is acceptable. This thread is on a yellow card now that was borderline straight red .... the same can be said for a number of posters in the thread.

Alex Ferguson's overall record at Man Utd was 59% and in the early years (first 4) this was closer to 33% (ie. average). We cant afford, nor would we attract a manager who wins 2 out of every 3 games ... In Scotland, Neil Lennon and other Celtic managers of the past are around 65% or upwards in wins. Rangers stats show most of their managers in the 65% area too. Terry Butcher may have been sitting on 69% before he jumped ship but who is to say it would have stayed that high ... in the preceding seasons he had win percentages of 35%, 26%, 40% and 56% (promotion from D1)
  12. Scotty replied to a post in a topic in Caley Thistle
If you are going to say someone's record is diabolical then at least have the facts. Saying its diabolical and then saying you don't know what the numbers are is daft .... especially when you are only 1 click away from getting those numbers !!! look at the bottom of this page. http://caleythistleonline.com/page/TPL/squad.html His record is 7 wins 10 draws 10 defeats or 25.93% which is definitely 'below average' but not necessarily diabolical ... Butcher had 9 wins in 13 games (69%) which is ridiculously high. Want to talk abysmal ... Aron Winter at TFC who I mentioned earlier in the thread had a 10% win rate in MLS in 2012 (1 in 10 before getting sacked) then his replacement Paul Mariner had 16.7% (4 wins in 24) before getting the bullet too. Ryan Nelsen had 17.6% last year but has got 50% so far this year (only 6 games in though)

Wasn't going to bite on this topic, but had to after some of the comments I have been reading (not just the ones I have quoted below). I have my own opinion on our manager and I still sit quite uncomfortably on the fence. I dont believe in sacking a manager this early, but by the same token anyone who is arguing that there is nothing wrong is living in cloud cuckoo land !!! There are aspects of his leadership that have me banging my head against a brick wall yet there are other areas where I do feel he is doing good ... or trying to, but overall, I would be lying if I did not say I was concerned for season 2014/15. Pre-Season is where you change your methods not halfway through what is until that point a successful looking season. If we were losing every game or playing badly I could understand it but there's an old adage that "if it aint broke, dont fix it" and that is basically what Yogi said when he came in ... then proceeded to try and fix it. Unless you are Barca, Real Madrid, Man City, or other uber-rich clubs where you can indeed go out and buy players to suit the system you want to play, or you are a team like say Ajax where the philosophy of 'total football' starts at the youth level then you dont adapt players to your style, you adapt the style to play to your players' strengths and minimise exposure of their weaknesses. Please god NO !!!! This DOES NOT WORK unless you are actually Barca or another rich club as note above. Think Luvgravy posted it earlier in this or another thread but both of us had the misfortune to watch as former Dutch International Aron Winter, tried to do just this at Toronto FC. He had his unshakeable philosophy - the total football 433 system employed by Ajax - but this just does not work in MLS. MLS is not a 'silky' league, just like the SPFL is not, so you have to have horses for courses and be willing to switch up the tactics when Plan 'A' doesnt work. Yogi seems almost as unwilling to change his tactics when things are going pear-shaped as Aron Winter did .... and TFC started the 2013 season with 9 straight losses !!! For me its not the 11 goals ... well it is, but I agree with you that Celtic can do this to almost any team in Scotland on their day. What really concerns me is that we don't seem to learn from past mistakes, and not just in this game. How many games have we played where supporters who were at the game came back on here later to bemoan the tactics? playing with no wingers, or playing non-wingers out wide. not because of injury, but because 'the method' was more important than what was actually working or not working on the pitch. Do I want him sacked? No I dont, I think it is too early for that, and he should have time - at the end of the season - to implement his own changes, but I have to say I am concerned. I met him briefly before Xmas and he seems to be a decent guy, but with all due respect to him, ICT is more important than any manager and if we start to slide next season then his position may quickly become untenable.
  14. ok, lets stay on topic .... independence debate is for another thread. Personally, I find it ridiculous that the police are allowed to continue with this overt set of double standards. 3 arrests? Its not like they couldnt see it coming either given the link at the bottom of the article to the same crap from the previous year ..... yet our supporters at Parkhead can be robbed and assaulted with impunity.
  15. only 4 subs listed for us ......
  16. Humiliation Inverness were turned over once more by Celtic as the big club thrashed the wee club. Yogi said before the game that he did not want a repeat of the last game, a 5-0 hammering. Well, he got what he wanted. This time it was 6-0. Inverness were dealt some late blows when David Raven was injured in training, Vincent pulled out and Marley Watkins was ill. All this on top of Foran being out for the end of the season, meant we only had four players ready for bench duty. Mathews and Mulgrew were both fit enough to start the game and Celtic started with as strong an X1 as they could muster. Inverness looked to spoil the Celtic advances and this worked for the first half hour, but once they scored, the desire to defend deserted Inverness and we suffered our heaviest defeat in the SPFL. I don't see any point in elaborating over this and suffice to say that Anthony Stokes scored a hat-trick with Griffiths, Ambrose and Pukki completing the embarrassment. Two nil at half time quickly became six nil by full time, thankfully the referee only adding one minute of additional time. We even had the cheek to pass up a scoring opportunity when Doran inevitably stroked a penalty into Forster's body to ensure we completed the bagel. 6-0 it finished with Celtic totally dominant and Inverness in tatters, Yogi's Barcelona plans seemingly not working very well and if truth be told, Dean Brill did his best to keep the score down, but it was too much to expect one man to stem the flow and Celtic cantered to an all too familiar doing in Glasgow. Ach well, Celtic and Airdrie have achieved the same score against us, but Dundee United are next up for Inverness. I'm scared to watch, but here it is... 18. We received this in our support area if anyone wants to contact the journo in question. I would not normally post this, but it does sound like a genuine, positive tribute rather than the typical hack job: Hello, My name is Allister Thomas, I'm a journalist from the NorthScot Press Agency in Aberdeen. We're currently writing a tribute piece about Iain Innes - a solicitor from Inverness and an avid fan of the club. I was wondering if there are any of your members that knew him and would be happy to say a few words for the article? I was also wondering if you have any pictures of him we could use for the piece? My number is 07971 991362 Thank you, [email protected] EDIT: It has been pointed out to me by someone who knew him well (but not his family) that perhaps "comments about him and photo's should be a decision for his family rather than fellow supporters" and maybe "his partner and children would prefer things lower profile". I will leave the journo details up, but happy to remove them if users or anyone else who knew him well thinks it appropriate. We are also happy to keep this thread pinned for more discreet CTO tributes to Iain from fellow fans. As I did not know Iain personally and dont have any pictures that I am aware of, there will be no response to the request from the journalist from CTO.
  19. the Errea strip designer is quite good - shame about the limited options though !! Try the rugby shirts Rene, or the casual gear... you'll get some weird and eclectic designs there !!!
  20. think I managed to update the shirt page with everything except the away kit from 1999-2000 (or was it the same as 1998/99??). Anyone remember that one? Would have been Scotrail as sponsor. http://caleythistleonline.com/shirts.html
  21. you are thinking of this 2010-11 shirt. close but not exactly the same
  22. I could be off base here but I believe the board make a final decision based on a few options Errea give them after the club give them a rough outline of what they are thinking. (eg. we want stripes, or we want a solid colour etc). We are not and never have been a big player who can dictate terms to Errea because of level of sales, so we will normally get a customised version of a stock design from their current catalogue ... The current home shirt for example is model "TorBay" (although having said that I cant find our current away shirt in any of the Errea catalogues).

Last season under Butcher, from mid December to end of season we won 6. In the same period this season, Yogi has won 5 already. Similar form to last season. Aye keep hearing this going backwards stuff but the stats really dont show this as youve said. From clear in second with games in hand to struggling to fend off St Johnstone for fifth. I'm confused. In what respect is that not going backwards ? I think the point being made is that while not necessarily habitual, we are no strangers to the mid-season or second half of the season slump ... I recall that happening more than once, and as correctly pointed out, last year was the most recent example. So are we going backwards or are we merely doing exactly what we did last year and in (some) previous years regardless of who is in charge? Hughes is getting a lot of **** thrown at him for everything from his tactics to his eloquence (or lack thereof) and yes he must take some of that on the chin as he is the manager and he does select the team and tactics - some of which have been a bit bizarre - but some of the vitriol is over the top. way over the top. Like many, I remain to be convinced that Yogi is the right guy, but definitely not calling for his head yet. Would we have won the final with Butcher still at the helm? who knows, he decided to leave us. Would we still be second with Butcher still in the dugout? who knows, he decided he needed a fresh challenge. Did Butcher give us a second thought when he was quaffing down the hospitality in the home section when we were playing Hibs whilst he was still ICT boss? Did he **** he seemed to enjoy the chaos he caused! I hope he enjoys the Championship next year, until he gets sacked before Christmas when it is clear he is not going to experience the same one season bounceback that he did here.. Getting back to Hughes ... I think you can glean a lot from social media these days. Before Twitter/Facebook and such like you needed to have someone on the inside giving you information or tidbits to know how things were really going. Nowadays - and I am talking in general, not specifically about ICT - signings, contracts, injuries or bust-ups can all be found on these platforms mere minutes after they happen, and often before any official announcements. Quite a few players at ICT signed extended contracts after Hughes' arrival, and I dont think I have seen any comments on Twitter that indicate the players are unhappy or he has lost the dressing room. The cherry on top for me is Foran. This is a guy who we all expected to follow TB down the road before the exit door had actually closed but no, he has committed himself to ICT for what is basically the rest of his career ....
