  5. To All Users: We wish to inform all users that 'CaleyD' has made a decision to step back from site admin duties for the time being. The reason for this is pretty straightforward ... Although CTO is our 'flagship' site, our portfolio is growing and the time constraints and workload mean it is not feasible for us both to perform admin duties 24/7 on one site to the possible detriment of others we already own, operate or maintain for ourselves, existing clients or new customers. As CTO has always been "my baby" since I launched it in 1994, we decided that I will continue as Site Admin on here and Don will focus more closely on our other sites and our external clients. Don also has external commitments with CaleyJags Together and other ICT related stuff and although he is a big lad, there is only so much of him to go around so this approach makes sense. Don will remain on the site as a member and we will also be re-jigging the moderator list to fill the void. TM4TJ has agreed to become a site admin. As he already administers the editorial portion of the site and is responsible for collating and co-ordinating all our previews, reports and stories, thats not much of a leap. Gringo and Mantis will continue as Senior Mods, and the moderation team will also be tweaked slightly. Some existing moderators are not as active on the site as they once were and we will be asking them if they wish to continue or not. Should any of them decide against it we will freshen up the team by inviting other members to fill any vacancies created.
  6. There was another thread, but no worries. The club are open to ideas on what pictures might be of interest to fans to purchase so no doubt your comments will be noted. As far as I know the pics are being supplied by SNS and back in our rivals.net days we were licensed to use those pics so I know their archives go back many years ... Certainly to at least 1999 or so for ICT so you may be in luck!
  7. Maybe this could be amended for ICT ...... its a TFC song sung to the tune of "Sloop John(do) B" with the most crucial line bolded ! Forever we love you so (Clap Clap) Through all of the highs and lows This is our crest and this, this is our home We want you to knowwwwwww We want you to knowww_ooooo_ooooo Forever we love you We love you T-O.... 8. Be careful what you wish for in terms of "entertainment". There's very few managers who could do a 'Pele' and give us results and entertainment at the same time ! Thats a balancing act that not just anyone can pull off. I have witnessed the same debacle at Toronto FC, along with lack of entertainment and dropping crowds ...... In 2007, the team was crap, but they got a pass because everything and everyone was new ... In 2008, the team was slightly better but still crap at times, but they got a pass because Mo Johnston kicked himself upstairs and installed a new manager (John Carver). In 2009, the team was still crap, and it was a hard season when the manager quit after 6 games to be replaced by his deputy (Chris Cummins), who then quit at the end of the season as he wanted to go back to England. In 2010, the team improved a bit, but it was at the expense of playing good football. Preki came in and played mind-numbing grinder tactics (for ICT oldies, think Baltacha and seldom going across the half-way line). Games were won, but they were horrible to watch and the team still failed to reach the playoffs. At this point, he and Director of Football Mo Johnston were sacked. Nick Dasovic took over and Jurgen Klinsmann came in as a consultant tasked with finding the perfect "style" and "personnel" for TFC management. The style that fans demanded was 'entertaining' and passing football played on the deck'. Absolutely, the best thing to watch when done well, but Klinsmann catapulted Aron Winter into the job, a man who had done well at the Ajax Academy, but had never managed a first team squad in any league. Winter tried hard, and yes, he too got a pass in his first year where he tried to instill the style, and a rigid 4-3-3 formation, but ultimately he was jettisoned after 10 games this season when his league record was 1 win and 9 losses (not including the 2 leg win over LA Galaxy in the Champions League). Paul Mariner has now taken over and we are back to a more traditional 4-4-2. He has done reasonably well so far, but the season is pretty much over after that bad start, and again, he is going to get a pass from the diehards as he has turned around the early season results ... but again, he is doing it by grinding out results. He's not as bad as Preki in those terms, but some of the games have been ugly to watch !!!! During this time, we have seen a stadium that once sold out every game (21000 capacity), and which had 18,000 on the waiting list for season tickets now reach a place where they still sell about 18,000 season tickets per year but you can always find a ticket if you need it without having to pay through the nose with ticket touts and with many of the 18000 season book holders not bothering to attend regularly. Part of it is to do with recession, part of it is to do with the results, part of it is to do with the style, and I am sure part of it is to do with the lack of entertainment as well .... otherwise why would there be 47000 at the Skydome to watch LA Galaxy in the Champions league at $40-$60 per ticket, but only 5000 at BMO Field to watch TFC take on El Salvador's CD Aguila in this year's first group stage game at $15 a ticket ...... It will be interesting to see what if anything Toronto do about season ticket prices this year, but I still maintain that ICT could learn a bit about how the pricing works .... main stand is more expensive and it gets cheaper the further round you go until you get behind the goals in the supporters section .... perhaps easier to do in a 20K stadium than a 7700 stadium, but pricing it this way means TFC dont have loads of different types of ticket (no concessions for example), just pricing based on section.

It should not really be a surprise ..... 'fringe' players in terms of Scotland call-ups become shoe-ins as soon as they sign for either half of the OF (Can we still call them that now that one of them is only a couple of months old at best?). I was reading the comments of Houston and Levein on the BBC site and it sounds like Black was close to a call-up when he was at Hearts, but just didnt have that extra something that got him in .... that extra something being a Celtic or Rangers contract. However, Lee Wallace must have pissed him off somehow as the comment on his exclusion was "It is very difficult for anyone playing in the Third Division in Scotland to be up to the speed of an international match" [source: http://www.bbc.co.uk...tball/19237577]
  11. finish above County and more bums on seats .... yup, thats two good aims for the season !!!!
  12. Scotty replied to Yngwie's topic in General Football
Surely he only got called up so he can pull out ?

Sorry but do you have the slightest idea about the rules of the game. The ref doesn't think oh he had a bad injury last season so it's ok for him to assault the other player. He did the wrong thing and he was correctly punished for it the ref had an easy decision No need to get too personal ! The OP makes a valid point as to why he may have over-reacted, or let the 'red mist' get the better of him and maybe TB will take that in mitigation when any internal discussions take place in terms of disciplinary action. However, it is also correct to say, that regardless of any mitigating factors we might be able to come up with after the fact, the ref simply applied the rules the way he has to. Like last week in the case of St Mirren's Lewis Guy, he raised his hands (or head in this case) and therefore has to go ... no argument, no excuses, and no leeway for a yellow regardless of how much we as ICT fans might like to mitigate the decision and hope for it ....
  14. Caleytillidie - I am not going to quote most of your post and respond to it as its already been done ..... I actually agree with the point you are making (the low attendance etc), however, I cant help feel you are aiming your potshots at entirely the wrong group. I will however quote that one part of your post and ask the same question as I have asked anyone who has ever asked that type of question before ...... What have you done?, or given that you happily used the expression "we", then what are some of your suggestions that could be collaborated on ......?
  15. Just for the record (and off the top of my head so not exact) .... Rossco got sent of something like 9 times in nearly 600 appearances for ICT ..... thats 1 every 60+ games or something like that ... so once every 2 seasons !!! Didnt have the benefit of commentary or eyesight on this one, but the text feed I was watching made it sound like nasty tackle by Fowler and then red mist descending ..... it happens !!! Discipline the guy sure, but to say he should never wear an ICT shirt again may be a little OTT for OTJ
  16. Robbo service resumed and he called the Esson save before it happened !!!!
  17. yeah, not Robbo :(
  18. Andy Shinnie :) 1-0
  19. sounds like Dons game when I checked it a minute ago .... may be switching back and forth. Hopefully one of our users who works for MFR can clarify what to expect .........
  20. not sure which game MFR are doing, but no, the live BBC game is the County game ..... BBC are no longer covering all SPL games ... just doing a single game live and OAM for the others .... except Rangers games of course ! A retrograde step in my opinion ....... very short sighted On the plus side - we have Robbo at the TCS today on OAM and he is a lot more interesting to listen to than Brian Irvine !
  21. All square in the Highlands Kilmarnock's long trip to Inverness saw them take a point from an open game, which keaves both clubs looking for their first win of the season. Andrew Shinnie netted the opener for Inverness in the eighth minute but Manual Pascali equalised deep into stoppage time at the interval. Danny Racchi had an opportunity to score Killie's first goal but Ryan Esson made a superb double save to deny the Killie sub. Sell out Saturday was not what it said on the tin as a sparse away crowd was sprinkled across the away stand and the home fans bathed in sunshine on a beautiful summer afternoon. Only 3012 made the effort to watch this SPL encounter. Killie drew the first trick of the day and made Inverness play towards the North Stand in the first half. Not many knew what to expect for the first home game and it was pleasing to see Inverness trying to play the ball on the deck. The home side started briskly and forced Kilmarnock onto the back foot and within four minutes the visitors brought on Danny Racchi for the injured Gary Harkins. A serious of forays forward saw Inverness win a corner and from this Aaron Doran's ball was played to Shinnie via Draper and he knocked the ball in fron the angle of the six yard box to confirm the home sides bright start to the match. The home fans were certainly encouraged by the opening twenty minutes and the tricky Doran should have doubled the lead as he bore down on goal, but Bell stood tall and blocked the effort which was eventually scrambled clear by the under pressure Killie defence, one attempt being cleared off the line. However, the early flurry from Inverness quickly dissipated and Kilmarnock realised they could give us a contest and the game then became more even with Killie now starting to dominate possession without really threatening to score. A Doran free kick from 25 yards was comfortably gathered by Cammy Bell as the game became stretched but on the half hour mark Racchi was upended in the box by Draper as Killie began to turn the screw. He dusted himself down and took the penalty himself but Esson reacted brilliantly and threw himself to the right to block the shot, then managed to block the rebound from Dayton to keep Inverness ahead. Not content with saving the penalty, we released the ball quickly and Shane Sutherland drove straight at the heart of the Killie defence but his 20 yard effort was easily saved by Bell. James Dayton left the field on a stretcher after 36 minutes to be replaced by Rory McKenzie as Killie shuffled the pack once more before half time. However, the five minutes of added time became a significant factor as Killie pressed for an equaliser before half time and as Inverness failed to clear another corner, Manual Pascali was on hand to bundle home a scrappy goal to level the contest in the 47th minute. Half Time 1-1 The game continued in the same vein after the break with both sides looking to get the winner. Doran, McKay and Sutherland all tried their luck with Shane being the only one to work the keeper, as the game became a bit tousy with a series of free kicks disrupting the flow of the game. Inverness were fortunate not to fall behind as a free header went over the bar as Killie pushed forward, Liam Kelly squandering that opportunity, but chances went abegging at both ends, Kelly firing wide in another burst forward. We saw a new side to Owain Tudur-Jones as the big Welshman literally saw red. As he surged forward with ten minutes to go, Fowler lived up to his name and brought down the gentle giant. He was booked for that, but not before big Owain thrust his head in the direction of Fowler's face and rightly was given a straight red for his rush of blood to the head. Inverness brought on Gavin Morrison in an attempt to hold onto the point we had and we almost snatched all three but for a fantastic point blank save from Cammy Bell as he denied substitute Nick Ross the winner from Raven's cross. Still time for Killie to make the home fans sweat as another free header went wide from Nelson and Esson saved a Kelly free kick but the home side held on for a deserved point. Full Time 1-1 Overall, a point each was about right in an entertaining game where both sides always looked for a winner. Both keepers were outstanding and not for the first time Bell denied Inverness with some wonderful stops. Esson came back well after last weeks loose display and his double save at the penalty was superb. Doran started brightly but faded as the game wore on and the defence grew in confidence the longer they played together. Men of the Match:- Both keepers made match winning saves and it's difficult to split them, Bell's save at the end from Ross had us all holding our head in our hands in disbelief. 10 th Aug 2012 Scottish Premier League Tulloch Caledonian Stadium Inverness C.T. 1 - A.Shinnie (8) TEAM: Esson, King, Warren, Raven, G.Shinnie, Tudur-Jones, A.Shinnie (Morrison 81), Draper, Doran, Sutherland (Oswell 90), McKay (Ross 67) SUBS: Mathieson, Meekings, Polworth, Laing Booked: King (32) Sent Off: Tudur-Jones (79) Kilmarnock 1 - Pascali (45) TEAM: Bell, Fowler, Nelson, O'Leary, Tesselaar, Johnson, Harkins (Racchi 4), Dayton (McKenzie 37), Kelly, Pascali, Kennedy (Boulding 75) SUBS: Letheren, Pursehouse, McKeown, Winchester Booked: Fowler (81) Sent Off: none Referee Brian Colvin Attendance 3012
