  1. If a player is under contract to another club then I am guessing we would need their permission to list the player in the team either by name or as a trialist (just like we need their permission for the player to train with us). If they are out of contract but just not able to sign fully due to the transfer window where they played last year then its my guess (opinion) we could list them as a trialist and have them training with us regardless.
  2. if anyone is tweeting updates, let us know your twitter name and we will put it on the sidebar on the main index page ....... if posting updates, just post them on a thread using your mobile .....
  3. 20 = Aldred 21 = Tansey Would say that 23 does look like Gilbert 25 is harder though ... not sure he looks like any online images of Ciani I have seen, but you have to wonder when they were taken .... 25 does look older than the rest and given Ciani did have trials last year with St Mirren, Dundee and County then I guess its possible.
  4. Not sure about 'removed', think it is more likely that it is there, but has just not been set to be viewable yet .... its something we do on the main site when we are writing an article that might take a while, we save it as a draft and make sure it is "unpublished". We then set it to automatically publish at a certain time (for embargoed articles), or publish it manually when we have finished writing it ..... According to the publishing info on NewsNow (another good resource for aggregated ICT news), it was submitted at around 11am this morning: http://newsnow.co.uk/nn/caleythistleonline
  5. According to the Ipswich Town fan site we also have Josh Meekings on trial http://www.twtd.co.uk/news.php?storyid=18655
  6. Caleyrule's player signing info is normally near the mark. Cant find any supporting story to confirm this, but willing to believe it until proved wrong. EDIT: Also --- If you put "Terry Gornell Inverness" into Google you come up with a Highland News article which obviously has those keywords in it, which is dated today, but does not yet appear to be published on the publicly viewable part of their site http://www.google.com/search?ie=UTF-8&oe=utf-8&q=terry+gornell+inverness http://www.highland-news.co.uk/News/Caley-Thistle-net-striker-27062011.htm
  7. Obviously we have a twitter account and many of you follow it (@ictonline for those that do not). The club has also had an official twitter of @ictfc setup for them and hopefully it will be more heavily used during the 11/12 season. Don't expect much initially ... Maybe team lines, event promotion and other little snippets, but if they start using it then maybe more will follow
  8. a couple of users have just paid and I have updated the table in the first post. However, I would just remind users to please make a comment during the payment process listing your site username if it is not obvious from the email address. I managed to find you guys, as you had used the same email address for your accounts on here ... but not everyone does ! Thanks to everyone who has joined the sponsor group so far ..... We are 62% of the way to having enough members for the first sponsorship ..... and 41% along the road to our overall goal in just 4 days.
  9. added a poll to the thread just to see what people think .... funny really, most on here seem to like it, with one or two exceptions, but those who commented on our facebook page were the opposite !
  10. you just could not make that up !!!!!!!! Had to look twice to make sure the link actually did go to the Hearts website !!! Posting what appears to be a Vlad-Rant in full below as I am sure it will disappear soon !!
  11. [caption id="attachment_4237" align="alignleft" width="300" caption="Photo courtesy of Ken MacPherson (click to enlarge)"][/caption] New recruit Tom Aldred (right) helped model the new away strip which has just been launched Caley Thistle's new defender Tom Aldred, on loan from Watford for six months, helped model the club's new away strip today. The Englishman could make his debut when Terry Butcher's troops play their first match against neighbours Clach at Grant Street Park on Monday. The new white away strip, with black sleeves and red and blue trim, has been delivered by Errea after Caley Jags fans Ann and Fraser Mills of Inverness won a competition to fly to the Parma factory to see the first shirts roll off the production line. "New strip, new era", said manager Terry Butcher, "and we hope they sell well." The strips go on sale from 10 am on Saturday from the club shop and online at www.ictfc.com and Ann Mills said:"From a fan's eye view, I'm sure they're a winner." Skipper Richie Foran and longest serving player Ross Tokely gave Aldred backup in modelling the shirts.
  12. He obviously has not added his birthdate into his profile, but just have to say Happy Birthday to someone many of us know, one of the founders of the "Caley Inn Crew" that pre-dated the Innes Bar supporters group, and a season ticket holder along with myself right above the tunnel for many years (and counting [in his case]) ....... Happy Birthday Calum ... have a good one.
  13. Like it !
  14. Its a "loose thread" for those who want to remove power from the home nations to grab onto though ... unravel enough thread and you're screwed !!!! For me, the answer seems simple ..... re-instate the home internationals as an U23 event (or one that mirrors the Olympic rules) - even if it is only once every 4 years - and make the prize for winning it very straightforward. The winning nation represents UK/GB at the Olympics, and runs the team under the auspices of its own independent FA association.
  15. Whilst I do not disagree with you Marks, you are forgetting one crucial thing - and I also meant to respond to ICTPaisley with the same thing when he compared Athletics, Rugby and any other sport - to this situation. We are talking about FIFA, an organisation that IMHO is rotten to and from the core, an organisation where bags of cash or TV rights or other lucrative things are (allegedly) set on (or under) the table in return for favours or decisions ....... would YOU trust them to have ANY consistency in decision making when they have shown none of it in recent years?
  16. TerryMo, DewsburyDude, Alex MacLeod & CaleyRule ..... you have all voted but not indicated you are taking part. Please confirm. Have updated the list with all recent membership payments and those who have indications membership to follow ...... Looking at the voting, the following people have voted but not confirmed participation ... please confirm participation, or if you have decided against it, remove your votes. 17. and lets not even go there with UEFA who also want this too !!!!! FIFA and UEFA know there are too many "nations" in Europe as a result of the breakup of the USSR and other countries like Czechoslovakia, Yugoslavia etc. It means that tournaments in Europe are harder to fit teams into and competition for World Cup slots are also harder as more and more nations from other parts of the world demand a larger representation in terms of qualification spots for the World Cup. In March 2011 Blatter said this ..... "this composition has no influence on any privileges existing actually with Fifa, according to the decisions taken in 1946 at a Fifa congress in Luxembourg. So it's very clear. If they play, there is no sanction from the Fifa part." http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/league_of_wales/9416122.stm Also in March 2011, George Peat revealed this ....."Mr Blatter told us at an informal function that, if we agreed to be part of Team GB, our position would be in jeopardy. My immediate reaction was one of surprise. I glanced over at the English table and their two guys, Lord Triesman and Sir David Richards just looked at each other. David Will, who was the Fifa vice-president for 15 years, has always told us on no account to get involved. David Taylor [the general secretary of Uefa] says the same thing. So we're viewing this as a serious warning." http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2009/mar/01/fifa-sepp-blatter-england-scotland-ireland-wales-fa-home-nations and from the NoTeamGB website FAQs ....... http://www.noteamgb.com/Q-And-A-About-No-Team-GB.htm FIFA President Sepp Blatter recently gave assurances that the Home Nations would not be forced to merge even if they established a Team GB and allowed it to compete in the 2012 London Olympics – is he not to be trusted? Neither Sepp Blatter nor Jerome Valcke are in any position to give any such assurances. FIFA operates as a democracy, and it would be 2/3rds of the FIFA members that would decide on the future of the home nations teams, not any one individual. Absolutely no official (from FIFA or otherwise) is in any position to make any guarantees as to how any of the member states may vote in the future. Sepp Blatter actually released a completely contradictory statement in March 2008 when he said: "If you start to put together a combined team for the Olympic Games, the question will automatically come up that there are four different associations so how can they play in one team. If this is the case then why the hell do they have four associations and four votes and their own vice-presidency? This will put into question all the privileges that the British associations have been given by the Congress in 1946." This warning, from the most powerful man in football, should leave every football fan in no doubt as to what is at stake here, the very existence of our International Football Teams.
  18. Actually most ICT fans, and even County fans have more class than that !!! But no worries, as noted above, its probably a better structure doing it this way. This means we can remove the possibility of it being viewed as anything more than what it actually is, which is simply a group effort where fans can club together and collaboratively achieve something that may not be possible on an individual basis. By making it a member group within the site, we can also give those who take part a few additional board perks as part of that membership so its a win-win for everyone. I am also a firm believer in Karma, so in the end, what goes around will indeed come around ..........
  19. Caley Thistle have finished top of the SPL, seeing off their rivals to lift the inaugural Football Fans in Training 5-a side trophy. The 7 man squad of ICT supporters faced opposition from FFIT participants at Celtic, Rangers, Dundee United, Hearts, Kilmarnock, Motherwell, St Johnstone and St Mirren, as well as an all star team including ex-players Derek Ferguson, Billy Dodds, Alan Preston and the BBC’s Richard Gordon, on their way to winning the cup at St Mirren Park. FFIT is a 12 week healthy eating and physical activity course run by community coaches at all SPL clubs and is funded by the Scottish Government and the Football Pools. The 412 men who completed FFIT programmes across the SPL last season lost a total of 2.3 tonnes in weight, 24 metres from their waists and had a great time “It’s like a night out with the lads without the drink”. ICT FFIT goalie Stephen Hobain, aged 37, joined the course last September. He’d piled on the weight since stopping smoking 5 years ago and couldn’t shift it. He lost almost 2 stones and dropped a trouser size whilst on the 12 week course “The Caley Thistle coaches gave us fantastic advice about how to improve our eating and becoming more active. I have taken up running, cycling and swimming as well as 5-a-side football and have never felt better.” Inverness Caley Thistle have been set the challenge to sign up 100 men for FFIT 2011/2012. Fans aged 35-65 with a trouser waist size over 38 inches can register by calling 0800 389 2129, texting FFIT to 88802, emailing [email protected] or visiting www.spl-ffit.co.uk.
  20. No it is not. Sepp Blatter, he of the fair and transparen elections and who leads an organisation that can of course never be influenced by money, and who have proven to say one thing to the future King of England (and GB) and then do another has made that quite clear. On the one hand, he states that competing in the Olympics will not affect sovereignty in terms of how the home nations are viewed by FIFA and in the next breath goes and says the opposite to a different audience ...... This is why the home nation football associations agreed with the English FA that they could compete on their own as Team GB without their objection, but also without their involvement.
  21. in hindsight, making it a subscription group is probably a better idea anyway so this person actually did us a favour in the long run
  22. Due to a complaint submitted to Paypal by a former site member that our player sponsor initiative was equivalent to running a "lottery" we have had to change the payment model from donation to subscription and remove the direct payment option and graphics from this thread to stay within the acceptable use policy of Paypal. You now need to join our "Player Sponsor" group (as noted in the amended opening post) and in doing so will receive benefits from that membership. It doesnt change the price or how we run things, just how it gets paid. However, as we have based the "Player Sponsor" group on the same benefits as our existing "site Sponsor" group, you will get a few perks ... a bigger PM mailbox, the option to change usernames more often, a little +sign next to your username indicating you are a sponsor, and other little bits and pieces! However, unlike site sponsors, you will still see site ads (you need to subscribe to site sponsor to remove those !!!) As noted in the first post, we will manually add those who have already paid into this group. EDIT : users added - you should now see a +player sponsor next to your username when posting.
  23. Incidentally, just to be on the safe side, I have spoken to the club and "reserved" the current poll leaders in each question as our items for sponsorship. Obviously, if the leaders in any of those questions change, we will amend that, but for now its probably a good move ! Item 1 - Home Top (Shane) = £350 +vat = £420 (42 sponsors) Item 2 - Training Top (Gavin) = £100 +vat = £120 (12 sponsors) Item 3 - Boots (Rossco) = £100 +vat = £120 (12 sponsors) so we need to reach a magic number of 66 based on the current leaders of the poll. [Overall (inc vat) a home top = 42 sponsors, away top = 30 sponsors, training kit and boots are 12 sponsors each]
  24. TerryMo, DewsburyDude, Alex MacLeod & CaleyRule ..... you have all voted but not indicated you are taking part. Please confirm.
