To be fair, I didnt think McDonald was that bad a ref, certainly not biased, but as a referee, there is no excuse for lying about events/officiating within a game he is in charge of so he had to go. Incidentally, he was the ref THAT NIGHT in Feb 2000 !!! He was also ref the following year for all 2 1/3 matches when we drew with Kilmarnock up here, then endured the "28 minute match" before going out in the official replay. On the downside he was ref when we lost 5-1 at Ayr and when we lost 0-1 against Dundee in the Cup semi at Hampden. He has done loads of ICT matches and I dont think we really have much cause for complaint. When he was good, he was good, when he was bad he was bad, but his inconsistencies always seemed to apply to both teams equally !!!

Ok folks. can we lose our fixation with "Big Jock". The OP - who wrote the phrase once - has explained it was an attempt at humour or a play on words for Barcelona's "Nou Camp" which almost no-one 'got'. It is quite clear the reference was to the stadium and not to anything else, and Chris has succintly explained in one paragraph what the 'something else' that some of you may be getting upset about is. There is no need to get onto the OP and accuse him of 'being a hun'. If he is/was or ever will be is frankly neither here nor there and none of our business. He also doesnt deserve the abuse he is currently suffering on some of the posts in this thread. If you cant bring yourself to discuss the game, and bask in the glory of yesterday despite the over officious stewarding, and instead feel the need to post abuse please dont bother commenting.... it will save us the task of removing the abusive posts !

Some folk may have noticed that we fed CaleyD's tweets through our live commentary page last night .... I did this as a bit of a test and it seemed to work well. Having talked a little with CaleyD about this this morning, we wondered if there was any mileage in trying to expand this idea into a sort of "community commentary" ??? What do I mean by Community commentary ?Well basically, we use a service that allows us to type our own live commentary into an event screen and we display that screen on our live commentary page. It also allows users to comment and for those (moderated) comments to appear in the commentary. Its a bit like the live text you might see on the SkySports ticker and other sites. Its a bit static and relies on one person being at the helm for every game. Our intention with this service was to try and have someone updating this live from every game. However, for most of the season we quite simply have not had the time, or bodies on the ground to make this work ..... and therefore it has not been running for games. After last night's impromptu test, we wondered about taking another track ...... for each game we could not only have the person at the helm (or not) but also include twitter feeds from @ictonline, from @openallmics, and from any other sources tweeting live news. This would mean that a variety of sources were coming through our live feed and even if we were struggling for bodies on the ground there would still be some commentary..... We also realise that many of our site users may also be at a game and may also be tweeting so this is where the "community" part comes in .... If you are tweeting during a game would you be happy to have your tweets included in the live commentary for others - not at the game - to see? If yes, then all you would need to do is send us your twitter account name (password not required) prior to a match and we would set the event screen up so that it including tweets from that account ..... The more people involved, the more in depth and community oriented the commentary might be ..... thoughts ?

According to the fixture list issued at the start of the season, that date was supposed to be: Aberdeen - Hamilton Ac. Kilmarnock - Celtic Rangers - Inverness CT Dundee Utd - Hibernian Hearts - St Johnstone Motherwell - St Mirren According to the SPL website, that weekend is now just Hearts - St Johnstone Dundee Utd - Hibernian It cant be the Cup as R4 is 8th January and R5 is 5th February It cant be Champions or Europa Leagues as group stages finish in December and next stage is Feb It cant be EURO qualifiers as there are none (for us) till September Its not an International friendly as we next play -V- N.Ireland in Feb ....... Its a mystery
