  1. well the league is a marathon not a sprint and in terms of pacing, i think we are hitting the front at the right time. Like most, I had my doubts that we would/could do it, and if I am honest, I still do (just waiting for the kick in the teeth somewhere along the line) ..... but for now its time to enjoy hitting the top at possibly the best stage of the season to do so ..... Well done to TB and the team today :D
  2. THIS QUICK and I can reply quicker ..... see post 103, 7 above yours :D heading out shortly to take my spot in the pub for Toronto FC's first game of the season ... here's hoping for a great double today. TFC face Columbus - a strong side - who we have never beaten in MLS yet. We play them 3 times a season, and they are probably our nearest and most hated rivals and its 5 draws and 4 defeats so far .... TFC win today would be icing on top of the cake :D
  3. done http://stats.caleythistleonline.com/tpl/index.php
  4. know what you mean - I have skysports window open along with sportbox, the PTFC live text commentary, listening to open all mics and hoping against all hope that none of them mention a PT equaliser or that they do mention an ICT goal !
  5. Right, I know its tempting fate and things could change a dozen times before the end of the 90 minutes based on incidents at Firhill and Viccy Park but I just had to post his screenshot ...... its been a long time coming !!!
  6. maybe he is not fully fit, maybe he is being kept for later in the game, maybe Butcher has an eye on the County game in midweek .......

  8. So its only Robbo who takes advantage of a certain Mrs Wilson's home baking then One of my memories of the early days of the TCS was for a Ross County game that was oversold by several hundred and duplicate tickets were printed for a number of areas in the main stand. Even though we had season tickets we couldnt get our normal seats and ended up being sheperded into the press/TV box, which at that time was next to the police box at the top of the stand rather than the back of the stand. Anyhoo, we stood quietly all through the first half because a film crew were doing highlights for Sportscene/Scotsport (cant remember which) but at half-time there was a rather nice (and large) plate of pies and a couple of jugs of coffee delivered ...... That bugger Rob McLean had 4 pies and a coffee and never thought to offer us any (County fan of course and we were winning ) ..... nowadays I would have got wired right in, but in those days I was polite Anyhoo, back to the thread - personally I favour competition as i mentioned earlier - get different vendors and let the fans decide who they patronise with their business. The better your product, the better your sales and those not offering a good "customer experience" can wither away. At ?4 for the "deal" mentioned earlier in the thread I would be doing what I do at Toronto's stadium which is to boycott the food and drink. We are charged something like $6 for a slice of Pizza, $5 for chips, $5 for a hot dog or hamburger etc and a whopping $13 for a 'large' beer (equivalent to a full size can) ..... not paying those prices so despite the fact that everything is of a decent quality and there are so many vendors that queues are not too bad, I just dont do it ...... might have to make an exception this year for poutine though !
  9. Does the Press box still get Pies and Tea/Coffee delivered Charles Are they Lindley or McDougall and Hastie ? Good summary.
  10. I agree. I said it before we were in the SPL, I said it when we were in the SPL, and I will still say it as we try to get back to the SPL, ...... whoever wins the 1st Division should not have to gamble financially before the title is decided, and should be given the close season to bring their stadiums up to the required standard. If they cannot do that then they should be given the option to arrange a suitable groundshare whether they have fixture priority or not ..... and I would even go further and say that if neither can happen (upgrade/share), then they should be allowed to play their first season in the SPL by using only those parts of the ground that are compliant on the understanding that they will use the increased cash from SPL membership to upgrade their ground.
  11. Theoretically, they could share with us, however, as I understand it, and the same problem that thwarted Falkirk's idea to groundshare with Airdrie on one of the two occasions they were denied promotion, is that the SPL team must be able to guarantee priority over the fixtures at the stadium. In Falkirk's case, they could not as Airdrie and the SFL held priority and I am sure ICT would be in the same boat. The SPL therefore prefer both teams to be in the SPL as they can control the fixtures of both clubs and avoid fixture clashes.
  12. Can see them wanting someone with much more experience this time ..... not sure who it would be though. However, as we are throwing names in the hat, how about Roy Aitken ! Edit: Just read on STV website that Neil Lennon has been approached to take charge until the end of the season: http://sport.stv.tv/football/scottish-prem...-leaves-celtic/
  13. Someone asked in another thread whether we had received feedback about the catering thread. I spoke with Darren today and he has forwarded to me the points/comments from the meeting. Here they are: Author: Area Manager, Lindley Group. We have looked at the main issues in the forum poll and have discussed the way forward in dealing with and managing the concerns. The main concerns were as follows; Pricing Queues Quality Service Pricing & Quality With regards to pricing we have competitive prices within our range and endeavour to only produce quality branded products to our customers. The pricing we operate is reflected in other division 1 grounds. We use Pars pies for our scotch steak and macaroni pies. They were runner up in the national pie awards 2009 for the scotch pie. All of our confectionary is branded e.g. Yorkie chunky, Kit kat duo. We use Coke as our main soft drink. All of our tea, hot chocolate and coffee are rain forest alliance registered. Meal deals have now been introduced with immediate effect and will be available from all of our home kiosks from Saturday 13th March. They will consist of; Hot Dog 100% fruit juice capri sun Packet of sweets (maltesers/harribo) The total cost will be ?4.00 This is a saving to the customer of 90p We will also look to improve on the range of meal deals game by game. Queues We have 4 kiosks situated within the ground for home fans. They are placed at the main stand North x 2 main stand South x 1 and the far side North x 1. The North stand has therefore access to the 3 kiosks. We will have the far side North kiosk open for all games. We would ask the fans to please utilise this facility. In the main stand all fans have access to the 3 kiosks, 2 in the North and one in the South. In the North a burger van will operate within the ground which will take the pressure away from the North Concourse and will ease of the queue conjestion. As from the game v Morton on the 13th we will be trying to manage the queues utilising the stewards and catering management. In the future we are looking at "hawking" (people carrying trays of pies and cold drinks) that can service the queues directly. Service When The Lindley Group took over the catering we wanted to hire local staff. In order to do so we had to run our first 2-3 games with the help from teams of staff from our other sites. However now we have a locally sourced team of staff. They have all been inducted and trained but as with everyone we have to let them get ?match fit?. I feel they are improving every game. In summary. It is not in anyone?s interests as caterers, club or customers not to have a quality service at the kiosks in the ground. I hope we, as your caterer can work towards getting it right.
  14. Jesus yes they will be - IF Rangers win the SPL :D dont believe so. Is it not this year that the automatic spot that used to go to the cup runners up if the winners also won the league now goes to the next best placed team in the SPL ??? Didnt they change it after Gretna and QOS both qualified on that basis ?
  15. updates (and the POY poll) will be a little late tonight folks as I now have to duck out and crawl through rush hour traffic ..... either Don or myself will get the page updates done for you asap ;)
  16. nahh, we have to win and Dee have to lose for us to go top on GD.
  17. use matchnight thread please.
  18. he may be looking at an old fixture list ... 3rd Jan was originally due to be played in Airdrie but was switched to Dens as the AUFC pitch was frozen ...... the reversed fixture was the one on Saturday ! seems Dundee's cunning plan failed ... twice :022:

  21. Scotty replied to ict123's topic in Caley Thistle
A captain has other duties off the field too - basically acting as a shop steward in discussions with management over various things - and that is the one factor we perhaps dont see and where much of the respect maybe comes from that managers and players alike obviously have for Grant. As has been said already, if he were so bad, he might not have lasted as captain under 3 different managers ... or was it 4? didnt he get made captain by Robbo after Bobby left? As for Russell, I have frequently said he is one of those "unsung heroes" who goes about things and just gets the job done. Sure he is a mouthy git, sure he gets booked needlessly at times, and sure some of his passes are suicidal but that is only a minority part of his game and he can certainly mop up well in that defensive midfield role and also get stuck in. He seems to be one of those players who people moan about 1 bad thing in any given game and conveniently overlook the 10 good things he did ..... Dont burden him with captaincy though.
  22. Any of the top 5 or 6 could realistically be in it ... although the QOS and Partick challenges are almost dead. Agree that any of the top 4 - Dundee, ICT, Pars, County could do it and you discount any of them at your peril .....
  23. not really .... as it stands right now we would be 3 points behind Dundee with a superior goal difference and one game to play against them on the final day of the season, we could actually just mirror all their results and have to beat them on the final day so its not quite a "must win". County would be in just as good a position if not moreso. However, as you say, a win today for either side would really put the cat amongst the pigeons .... Dundee's bottle seems to have crashed an if a team gets as close as one or two points behind them will they crumble completely? Airdrie 3-0 !!!!! Golly booked
  24. Airdrie 1 up on Dundee
