1. .... or moved to Canada just posting a link here to say that season ticket application forms are now available here: http://community.caleythistleonline.com/in...showtopic=13255
2. I would agree with Tree. As much as we might need to cut costs, we cannot cut our nose off to spite our face. If the chief exec and commercial manager positions are living up to the "saves more" or "takes in more" model as mentioned then there is no need to lose those positions. Even in lower divisions the people doing the roles now called chief executive or commercial manager were always separate. I made my comments abot Ch Exec and Comm Manager above but to add to this I would say that cutting youth development would be a mistake IMHO. It has taken a few years to get where we are and to cut it would basically undo all the hard work performed over the years. We have seen more youths come through the system in the last two or three years and if we do not bounce straight back up the youth side of the club may prove to be a very important resource in attracting and developing new talent. Also, if as Mike says, it is self financing (or as near as dammit) then there is no benefit to making deep cuts here. The best thing for the club right now is to trim costs where they can, but without trimming too deep. As has been noted, a lot of our costs will be reduced next year, but then again so will a lot of our income so its a case of finding a sustainable point to rebuild and begin to move onwards and upwards again.
3. In addition to the normal shop hours, the ticket office will be open every Saturday from 10am to 2pm until further notice to help fans renew or buy their season tickets. Don?t forget you can also renew on line by visiting www.eticketing.co.uk/ictfc RECEIVED FROM ICT FC on 3rd June 2009: "Join our quest to bounce right back to the SPL" - that's a direct quote from Terry Butcher and I can tell you it is also very much the aim of the directors of the club. We have swallowed the major disappointment of being relegated; we move on and build for fresh success. In doing so, we have been significantly heartened by the great empathy of the people of the city and surrounding communities, who recognise what we brought to the SPL in the past five seasons and how hard we battled. Messages of encouragement have poured in and we greatly appreciate them and hope they will be translated into brisk season ticket sales. Luck was against us in the end, but we look forward, not backwards, and our strategy is firmly set on our stay in the SFL being as short as possible. Against the backdrop of the priority of seeking excellent attendances to cheer on the side, we have devised an innovative and affordable season ticket package which I commend to you. We have reduced the main stand adult season ticket by ?100 with similar reductions across the board. It represents outstanding value for money. And, mindful of the credit crunch environment, we are extending our credit payment service period from four months to nine months, so you can 'spread the pain' quite considerably - and with no deposit. In another innovation, everyone who takes up a season ticket will have a 10 per cent discount for the following season if we are back in the SPL. You don't even have to come to the stadium to renew your season ticket - you can now do it online at www.eticketing.co.uk/ictfc from your own home. We are very much a community club and your directors are keen to grow the future fan base, so there are fresh moves in this direction. Children under eight will again be admitted free of charge, but now each adult can take two children of that age group in free to all SFL games. A new category has been created for 8 to 12 year olds in the Family Section with a season ticket for only ?25 - which is a 50 per cent discount on the child season ticket price. So they will be paying little over ?1 a game while those aged 13 to 18 will pay the equivalent of only ?2.77 per game. It all adds up to a great opportunity for boys and girls to be guaranteed a seat at all our home games. The target is for a season of entertainment and achievement, culminating, as in 2004, with the First Division trophy being won. I hope you will come with us on our First Division journey as we endeavour to make it the fast-track route to where we belong, the SPL. As an existing Season Ticket holder, you have until 5pm Friday 3rd July to renew your seat; release seats will be on general sale from 9am Tuesday 7th July. We may not have had a "proper" shop LG, but the poster is correct, we did have a club shop, within the building that was operated by Ian Broadfoot and Peter McCallum on matchdays and stock could be purchased from it at other times by going to reception. They may not have had the range of stock that we have got used to in the SPL but it did exist. Having said that, I agree with LG about carrying stock. For each product line there is usually a minimum order quantity, and for each overall order from supplier there is usually a minimum order value too. Any stock that is sitting there unsold is money tied up doing nothing. Its a no-brainer to try and make sure you have enough tops, polo shirts and such like but some of the other stuff is a gamble ...... expect to see the range decrease this season as the club (quite rightly) focus on the best sellers.
5. either use shift or stop posting till you get it fixed. All Caps is considered shouting and against forum rules ..... we will delete any posts with all caps ;)
6. 3.89 a game ..... how can you complain about that ?
7. article now on front page of site with details --- click main site from menu at the top
8. Actually ICT sacked a manager 14 years ago. Sergei Baltacha in 1995, after 1 season and finishing 6th in division 3! Of course, as a loyal supporter you would remember that! actually, ICT did NOT sack Baltacha ... at least not officially. He left by "mutual consent" and yes I do remember our first season, it was dire stuff to watch on the park, but it was exciting because we were finally in the senior leagues. One big thing I remember from that first season is talking to a couple of the players and them telling me Baltacha issued fines to defenders if they went over the half way line ..... and dire though that season was, he (SB) still had a better managerial record than Brewster ......
9. feckin delirious ... which is far more preferable to delusional :024:
10. if you mean fans then yes I suppose we are too .... we should have put MORE pressure on the board to relieve him of his duties earlier !!!
11. Of course, 2 wins in 28 games at DUFC is a great record too ! Bollox. Butcher was simply "in charge" when we were relegated .... there is no single factor that led to our relegation. As i said on another thread, board, players, butcher and brewster must all take some blame. The percentage we apportion to each will vary by poster ......
12. I have closed this this topic as I cannot add a paypal box to the first post of a thread via an edit, it has to be done when the thread is first posted. I also cannot merge the thread as it is sorted by date order so the paypal box would be buried somewhere in the middle of the page !!! A new thread has been created and this has the table shown at the top as well as the paypal box. You will be able to add your interest in that thread as well as pay directly through paypal. thread is here: http://community.caleythistleonline.com/in...showtopic=13170
13. PLAYER SPONSORSHIP: Player we are sponsoring - Grant Munro. As mentioned by Guzz on a previous thread we have sponsored Grant Munro for a few years now. On that thread we have the names of 39 people who have already agreed to take a share for next season. I have added these names below. The overall price for next year is not known yet but last season we needed 47 people at ?10 each to cover it and we will stick with that price. If you are paying via paypal the cost will be ?10.60 as paypal add charges to each transaction and we do not want Guzz to be out of pocket. If the price goes down, or we get more than 47 names we will look to sponsor an additional piece of kit from another player and the CTO offer to cover any reasonable shortfall still exists .... whether that kit is gloves / shorts / socks etc will depend on the level of interest. If we sponsor more than one piece of kit, then obviously there will be more than one winner at the end of the season so we would have a first and second prize ..... If you are interested, please add your name to this list and we will update the table below. You will be marked as paid () once Guzz confirms payment received via paypal or more traditional means .... To pay via paypal just click the "Buy Now" link at the bottom of this post. You can use an existing PayPal account or your credit/debit card to make a paypal payment. IMPORTANT - Please add your site username to the comments area when making the payment as sometimes it is not easy to figure out who someone is on the site from their paypal identity !!! Those that have paid are marked with 01 Alex MacLeod 02 Aileen MacLeod 03 CaleyD 04 TM4TJ 05 Caley100 06 Caley Stan 07 Scotty 08 Alternative Maryhill 09 The Knowledge 10 weeman 11 LuvGravy 12 Guzz 13 Uncle Albert 14 Lynn Grant (via LG) 15 Alan Grant (via LG) 16 P&B 17 Old Caley Girl 18 Mrsmainoir 19 20 21 22 DJS 23 Mike 24 Gringo (snr) 25 Mrs Gringo 26 Gringo (jnr) 27 Mrs Gringo (jnr) 28 Johnboy 29 30 Mantis 31 Mantis 32 Mantis 33 Bart the Brat 34 PapaLazaroo 35 Big Stew 36 TMFTJ 37 The Sponge 38 Nogbad 39 TMFTJ 40 Caleymad 41 Dmacca 42 Birdog 43 MrsPauliebee 44 Pauliebee 45 Pele Is God 46 maimie 47 12th Man 48 Alimci 49 Div 1309 50 Eye Settee 51 us2 52 birdog's boy 53 Dewsburydude 54 Scorpio60 55 IanICT 56 Ellie Jo 57 Tug 58 Mrs Tug 59 Little Tugette 1 60 Little Tugette 2 61 Elder Boy 62 finmack 63 64
14. remember that Craig Brewster is the first manager that ICT have sacked in 15 years ...... if Butcher does a decent job in the coming season then there will be no reason for him or us to worry. ICT dont make a habit of causing the managerial merry go rounds, we just get caught in the crossfire and if Big Tel moves on it will be his own choice I would think.
15. Prove it We need to prove precisely F*** All to you !!! Brewster proved he couldnt do it not once but twice ... in Dundee and in Inverness. The rest is bullsh!t. Butcher (when paired with Malpas - unlike in Australia and at Brentford) has had one fairly succesful stint in the SPL with Motherwell and already has a better statistical record that Brewster at ICT ....... Why dont you prove to us that Brewster could and would have done it ..... and while you are at it pull some feckin rabbits out of your hat cause you will be a magician if you can pull the first one off !
16. paypal doesnt take lats, but maybe Kay will
17. I am going to setup the paypal once i sort the details with Guzz and there will be a payment button available. We will also adjust the table to show who has paid as and when guzz confirms. As paypal add charges to the transfer, the actual transfer amount will be ?10.60 per share This should make sure Kay is not out of pocket.
18. You want to go down that route? .... better pull out Brewsters record against every other team ... it does not make pretty reading.
19. With all due respect, that is the biggest load of sh!te I have read on here in months -- and there has been a fair bit that it had to compete with !!!! I dont hate Brewster, I dont know the man. I would also say that "Brewster the player" got loads of praise on here even when "Brewster the manager" was being vilified. The praise was purely because he was one of the best natural strikers we have ever had at the club and fans recognised this. However fans also recognised that under his leadership we were in freefall and I truly believe we would have been mathematically relegated by February/March instead of May. He had to go and I have no guilt or embarrassment in being one of the ones calling for his head. His position was untenable based entirely on his results. Football managers stand or fall on these and he has now proved (twice) that he is not yet ready to manage an SPL side. I hope he does fine at County in a player/asst manager capacity and one day moves back up to manage another side in the SPL ... just as long as it is not ICT he is managing ... that bridge is well and truly burned as far as I am concerned. As I said on another thread, our relegation is not 100% the fault of CB, TB, the Board or the players but each and every one of them had a part to play in it. Personally, I believe that had we got rid of the man before Xmas we would still be an SPL side, but its all ifs and ands isnt it, we will never know for sure. Is Butcher the right man for the job? Only time will tell. He did work minor miracles in getting us back into a fighting position, but ultimately we couldnt get it done in the last few games and he and the players have to take a good look at why that is. Next season will be a hard one and the legacy of Brewster is gone. Whatever happens is now down to TB and how he puts together his squad .... I think I am correct in saying this is the most players to ever leave ICT at the end of a season so very little of what is left can be deemed a "legacy" from before.
20. its pretty straightforward Guzz ..... but we will be happy to update the table if you dont feel confident. If you do, here is how to do it 1. Go to edit your post. you will see lots of bits like this <tr> <td width="5%" bgcolor="#FFFFCC"><div align="center">37</div></td> <td width="20%">The Sponge</td> <td width="5%" bgcolor="#FFFFCC"><div align="center">38</div></td> <td width="20%">Nogbad</td> <td width="5%" bgcolor="#FFFFCC"><div align="center">39</div></td> <td width="20%">&nbsp;</td> <td width="5%" bgcolor="#FFFFCC"><div align="center" class="style2">40</div></td> <td width="20%">&nbsp;</td> </tr>
The bit with the number can be left alone ....
<td width="5%" bgcolor="#FFFFCC"><div align="center">37</div></td> directly under the numbers is another line <td width="20%">&nbsp;</td> look for the first of these lines that has the &nbsp code and replace "&nbsp;" with the name .... thats all there is to it
21. at 38 so far out of a possible 47 (if it is still the same price) then I think we can confidently say this is a go-er !!! Even if we get no more names - and there are probably still quite a few from last year including the winner to comment yet - CTO would cover the shortfall with pleasure.
22. lets keep it on topic ... want to discuss player shirt numbers do it on the thread already open !
23. considering we went down by a margin of two goals you could pick any game we lost or even drew over the course of the season and make a case that an error by any player cost us our place in the SPL. If one of our losses was a draw we would have stayed up, if one of our draws was a win we would have stayed up, if we had scored three more goals over the course of the season (less if it was in a St Mirren game) we would have stayed up. No single player is at fault 100%, Craig Brewster is not at fault 100%, Terry Butcher is not at fault 100%, and the board are not at fault 100% ..... We will all lay blame in different places and in different percentages but the simple fact is all have played their part in the 'perfect storm' that led to our demise. We screwed up the last few weeks of the season with Butcher in charge, We screwed up the first half of the season with Brewster in charge, the board screwed up by persisting with Brewster when it was obvious to all that he was done, and the players didnt perform as well as they could in various parts of the season. At the end of it it meant we were bottom and we were bottom on our own merit or lack thereof so lets get away from the blame game and concentrate on the rebuilding job.
24. The biggest benefit to the supporters club is subsidised travel to away games, however you also get discounts in the club shop, priority for tickets if there is a game (eg. cup) where there are allocations, and as Alex mentioned, you get to chinwag with Kath. The Trust doesnt do the subsidised travel part (unless they organise a bus as a one-off or such like) but you are a member of a group with a substantial shareholding/voting right in the club, eligible to go to a fair few Trust events, have the same priorities for tickets (and discounts I think). If you are planning on going to loads of away games, then the SC is a good idea, if not the Trust may be for you .... or for the huge total of about 15 quid a year you could be a member of both. PS - Dont forget the Centenary Club either .... a few quid a week and you are in for adraw for 100 quid a day and 1000 a week.
25. Grant Munro (assuming we stick with him as our sponsored player) would likely be in the team most weeks and would wear the same number each week, just like Bobby Mann always wore 4 or Barry always wore 7 or Wyness 8 ... and all this in the days long before we reached the SPL.
