  1. commentators disagree ... all I can say in response is "Tumilty refereeing"
  2. As much as I am frustrated by Brew in general, its not his fault we have squandered a lot of chances today - thats down to players hitting the woodwork or missing 'easy' chances. As for the system - doesnt sound like 4-5-1 ..... its more like 4-4-2 as Imrie is up front with Wyness and at times sounds like 4-2-4 as the commentators have noted that both Paati and Wilson are playing quite far forward as out and out wingers
  3. Ref awarded it but linesman flagged him and made him change his decision as he thought it was outside the box. Osman (who would have had an instant red card if the penalty was given) was booked and Tokely was also booked (presumably for complaining to one of them about the decision reversal)
  4. to be fair - commentators said it was a tight angle, but he should have buried at least one of them. no penalty.
  5. Wyness misses his 4th chance of the match - sorry, but if the commentators are correct, Denzil just isnt doing it today !!!

  7. I thought the same thing, for all of 20 seconds, but then decided that no matter how bad things get I could never seriously hope for ICT to do anything other than win regardless of match importance. No matter if dropping points would ensure Brewster's departure from the club. We dont always agree but I am 100% with Birdog on this one. besides .... no such thing as a stonewaller when you have SPL referees involved.

  9. indeed, it is tiresome. I agree with the paragraph above so long as "getting along with the manager" also involves the manager reciprocating that behaviour with the players.
  10. As you say ... win win for all .... including the club who need some positive PR for once. The power of the Internet eh :004:
  11. [img width=500 height=332]http://www.caleythistleonline.com/gallery/albums/upload/match_pics/2007_08/20080329_aberdeen_pp/normal_20080329_aberdeen_pp_009.jpg "The door was this wide and still <he> couldn't get his head through it" [as we have many viewpoints on recent events, I will leave site users to insert the name of their choice where it says <he> :004:]
  12. As I understand it, Deano went to the training camps in Florida and maybe Carolina (not sure if he lasted till then or not) but from reading the reports of the friendlies that took place it seems he didnt feature in the squad for any of them .... may not have impressed new headcoach John Carver and Director of Football Mo Johnston ! .... on the plus side, Toronto FC have just signed Lauren Robert from Derby :003:
  13. He is/was doing his PRO license .... as far as I know you need to have completed both the 'B' and 'A' licenses to qualify for that course.
  14. Juanjo was a decent player for us and the fans like(d) him. There is no harm in giving him a trial .... I have never seen a Spanish game other than the big teams on TV so cant comment on the level he has been playing at but the onus is on him to earn a contract and if he does well he would be a welcome addition to the squad amidst all this doom and gloom ... Juanjo has always been one of those flair players who you know could make a difference when he is on the park. If he fails the trial then he doesnt get a contract so no problem from an ICT point of view. After doing a little digging, it is my understanding that he is in Inverness primarily on personal business so its not like he made a special trip to try out for the club and whether or not he gets a contract it will not be a wasted journey for him. He and his family like the area so I am sure he will try hard and if things work out it might be good all round. Not so sure. He was going to be here for personal reasons anyway so for once it may actually be a coincidence. If the club actually want to appease the "baying masses" perhaps they should be sorting out Denzil's contract which has been a major flashpoint for fans both in person as well as on here and places like the HN website where their polls overwhelmingly showed fans thought he had been unfairly treated.
  15. I am skeptical for a couple of reasons, but if it happens then fair enough. He was a good player for us and if he proves he is worthy of a contract I think most fans would welcome him back. However, here is my red flags for this rumour. 1 - it was alleged he did not get on with Brew .... nuff said. 2 - the window for signing free agents closed on 31st March.

SPL Dilemma as Caley Thistle field Conjoined Twins ......
  17. Fuller article here: http://sport.setanta.com/en/Sport/News/Foo...ss-exile-Black/ "... a source close to the player added: “Ian got asked a question during the team meeting and was told to be honest and that’s all he did. He thinks he is being unfairly punished for telling the truth. Craig Brewster knows Ian wants to play for Caley Thistle. He still has a year left on his contract and is not interested in looking to go anywhere else just now. He is an Inverness player and wants to get back into the team ... He thinks the ball is in the manager’s court and if he wants him back involved, he is fully fit and available for selection.” sounds like there are a couple of egos in play here and they need their heads banged together !!! Brewster asked for an opinion and didnt like what he heard or took it too literally, and Black thinks it was unfair to be punished for being 'honest'. As none of us know the context and (very importantly) the tone of the actual conversation, all we can do is speculate who is right and who is wrong, but as mentioned earlier in this thread, there is probably more than enough blame to go around. I like Black as a player but we all know he has spat out the dummy before and can be a bit of a hothead - as for Brewster, I am no fan of his managerial skills, but at the end of the day, he is the manager (for now) and amongst other things, responsible for the discipline of all players. Like any manager in any business he probably has to bring people back into line from time to time but I am not sure he has the skills to do this in a constructive way. His style seems very combative and autocratic rather than collaborative and that will not work with a lot of people !!! Blackie is one of those who I see as likely to push hard against this style. Finally, just a thought ... but if the other recent stories coming from the stadium surrounding Rankin, Wyness and others had not happened, and we were in the middle of a run like that which saw him get the MOM award a few months back we might just be taking Brewster's side in this and placing more blame elsewhere ...... but as it is, it just seems like one thing after another and each one amplifies the previous one until we reach the point where many of us have lost all confidence in him. If he cant start showing some positive managerial skills then he does have to go..... and maybe Black does too !
  18. I agree with you, but ..... Would you prefer 5 days notice of a change of venue or 5 days notice that the game was cancelled .... thats the inference in the article. If the game wasnt moved back, Gretna could not afford to pay Livi, the game wouldnt go ahead, and tha administrator would likely pull the plug ......
  19. I would check again ..... Gretna game moved back to FIR PARK
  20. noticed that too .... should be 9 yellows, 2 reds ICT: 4 Yellow = McGuire, Hastings, Duncan, McBain, 2 Red = Duncan, Munro AFC: 5 Yellow = Maybury, Considine, Maguire, Foster, Miller

Gretna breaking more rules I believe. A disgraceful decision. Lets hope no fans had already made plans to travel. The SPL is an utter shambles. Not so much Gretna breaking the rules as the SPL making them up or ignoring them as the situation develops. I think the SPL can see the finish line of this season on the horizon and want to get Gretna over it so they can become the SFL's problem. If the SPL can get them to the end of the season then they wont have any administrative headaches of their own in terms of the inevitable arguments about what to do with Gretna's results ... you just know that if it happened, someone is going to complain long, loud and maybe even via the courts because some teams will lose and others will gain and it might affect end of season prize money or even potential european spots. Yes, the SPL is indeed a complete and utter shambles and after recent events at the TCS, it seems ICT are in the correct place :004:
  22. This article explains the rationale .... http://sport.scotsman.com/spl/Gretna-given...-for.3936129.jp --- Motherwell promised to charge only a nominal fee for rent when the club fell into administration. --- the prohibitive cost of renting Almondvale Stadium to stage the matches was seen as a key factor for the administrators to consider closing down the club. So basically, it was Fir Park or bust .....

  24. I know this is mentioned elsewhere, but felt it worthy of a sticky of its own in case anyone doesnt hear about it in other ways .... The SPL have changed the venue for this weekend's game against Gretna. It will now take place at the original venue of FIR PARK, Motherwell instead of Almondvale Stadium, Livingston. http://www.ictfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/News...1279512,00.html

Confirmed as moved back to FIR PARK http://www.ictfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/News...1279512,00.html
