SCHEDULED SITE DOWNTIME
could be !! According to our hosts as of about an hour ago .... "... The cluster is coming up. We?re spot checking and fixing troubled file, web, and mail servers. Most sites should be up. We?ll sound an all clear later. We will likely be firefighting for the next few hours ..."

Dennis Wyness
Pimple - please re-read the rest of this thread .... Dennis is the one who was trying to sign his contract, no agent delays, no pissing about by him, it is the club who are the ones that missed the meeting to get the paperwork done and the manager pulled the rug from under him a couple of days later. As I have said numerous times on this thread and others ... It matters not a feckin jot what your opinion is about whether Dennis Wyness should have had a contract or not, the simple fact is that he was offered one, agreed one, arranged to sign one, and through no fault of his own found that it wasnt available to be signed at the agreed time. fast forward 24/48 hours and despite everything being arranged/agreed .... the manager withdraws the previously agreed offer from him, but not from another player who he had promised to withdraw it from if that player hadnt signed by that weekend. Its a shocking way to treat anyone and Brewster has to go if he thinks that is man management. While we always mump and moan about something on here this is the first time in the 14 year history of this site that I have ever seen such a sizeable and varied group of people calling for the manager's head. We dont do that at ICT, we have never sacked a manager and we have (almost) always been happy with our board ..... until now. Time to go Mr Brewster, and to take any directors with you who think your man management style is working.

We Need A New Manager For Next Season
That just doesn't make any sense in the context of what we've heard about contracts over the last few weeks. Brewster practically announced that Dennis was signing a two-year deal and Dennis himself was under the impression that everything was agreed. Also, Dennis was ready to sign the contract before Russell was so why wasn't his contract withdrawn? Exactly !!!!! (allegedly) .... The contract was agreed, only the formalities of signing it had to take place, the date was set for signing, the date was the day before the Falkirk game, someone from the club was not able to attend (for whatever reason) even though Denzil was .... then the contract is withdrawn 3 days later. If the saga had "dragged on", maybe the club should have turned up to sign it on the agreed date !!! What part of the club not turning up on Friday is Denzil's fault ? Why does he have to pay for someone else's failings ? Was he that bad on Saturday that a contract all parties had agreed to had to be withdrawn ? Its all a crock of s*** !!! Regardless of which camp you fall into with regards to contracts for certain players, the club, and its manager are a f***ing laughing stock with those who support other teams, and a source of grave concern for those of us who support ICT. This is not the way to manage people or to treat people and anyone at the club who thinks it is should resign now

David Sutherland Interview
A very interesting and informative article with the man best placed - as the biggest shareholder - to actually be listened to when he talks. We can mump and moan all we like on here but we will never be more than a small thorn in the side of some people. However, Mr Sutherland has, in my mind, fired a shot across the bows and those who dismiss the fans as nothing more than plebs who should be grateful we are even in the SPL should pay attention. I also liked the bit that suggested he may be able to assist Clach in some way. Good on him.

Another week Still no Contracts
Last 3 seasons since DW came back ..... 21 goals in 80 appearances, Bayne - 13 in 86 ... but never mind, at least he's enthusiastic !!!

TOP SIX - i have faith
Andrew - welcome to the site, you posted something I think will put a smile (irrational or not) on many peoples faces and I even chuckled at IHE's offer of professional help. Ina sea of darkness surrounding the club at the moment, this thread has meant I will head off to my scratcher for the night with a smile on my face

TOP SIX - i have faith
it was a toss up between Feb8's Tulloch Castle post or this one as to what made me laugh most ...... this one gets it :rotflmao: I love your optimism, but top6 is blown .... we will be lucky to get 3 wins from the next 8 games, let alone the next 3

Russell Duncan signs new contract
Ok. Can the grammar police go home now and let us get back on topic? I am happy enough that RD has signed a new contract, and hopefully he, the club, and his agent have let common sense prevail and come to a decent compromise. RD is not a world beater but when on his game can definitely be one of our unsung heroes ... especially if he can cut out the unforced errors. However, I am less happy with whoever has let it drag on for so long - be that the club for not making a decent offer or the player or his agent for holding out for something unattainable. We will never know who was to blame, or whether they all had a hand in it but it has all added to the turmoil we are seeing spewed out in these last few days, weeks and months. one 'problem' sorted, only 36543 to go !!!

I would have to agree with hislopsoffsideagain. As he has said, he does not get weighed in on current stories so lets get back on topic !!!

I think they are all aware but maybe not as able as central belt publications to do anything that rocks the boat. In Inverness, the biggest sporting team is ICT and you dont bite off the hand that feeds you or who fills a lot of your column inches every single week. It perhaps surprises me that the P&J dont do more hard-hitting stuff about ICT but then again we would probably write it off as Aberdeen bias. In the central belt, most papers are regarded as having a leaning towards one side or other of the OF and those are the teams they try to keep sweet. The rest, and the half of the OF you dont lean towards are fair game. ICT are usually fairly inconsequential to these papers unless there is a really juicy story like the victory over Celtic, Ross Tokely's personal life, SPL Promotion issues etc etc. Believe it or not ICT do have a person who does their PR or at least writes their press releases !!! Its been the same chap for a number of years (with the exception of one year where they actually employed a company from Aberdeen to do it). He is very selective about who he sends the releases to and even when we were the official site he would exclude us despite requests from club officials that we be included. That was one of the reasons I got so frustrated towards the end of our time as an official site on SportNetwork (as some people know) but thats another story. I am sure Mr Bannerman gets just as frustrated as we do with certain things at the club but I fully understand that he has to be very circumspect when posting on here as he has chosen not to hide his identity like some posters do. If he were to constantly post something controversial he might have to deal not only with ICT fury but also BBC fury. I am sure that if he were an anonymous poster he might tell us what he really thinks.

thats my understanding ... Brewster says who he wants, Bennett deals with the contract negotiations, and Savage (and the board) rubber stamp it if all is in order. I am sure its probably a little more convoluted than that but thats the general idea. As for the withdrawal, dont think its too difficult to figure out that one !
-
Dennis Wyness
3 people involved in offering (or okaying) the contract from what I understand .... but the rumour is that only 1 was involved in withdrawing it. At least one of the other two is on holiday I believe.

John "Yogi" Hughes
Yogi's banter with the crowd has always been quality..... I have vague recollections of him ripping the **** out of Frank Connor when we were in the lower divisions and then Connor chasing him into the technical area waving his stick :015: :015: not only that, he has the ability to manage a smaller team on a relatively low budget, get the best out of players and also bring in some decent signings both permanently and on loan ......

Another week Still no Contracts
CaleyD used to be invited along to the press conferences but those invites dried up. While I did not get the pitchside press pass I requested for last year's U20 world cup, I was on the daily invite list for press conferences on the basis of writing articles on this site and writing articles and taking photos for a Toronto FC photo site that I run on the side (tfcpics.com). If I can get a FIFA pass on that basis, then anyone who legitimately writes articles on an accredited website (such as this one) should be able to do the same. However, the bottom line is that anyone who does ask those types of questions would be excluded anyway - just ask the HN, P&J and the Courier who have all experienced it in the past !!! Don't think you are being totally fair on Charles there Clacher. He is not the spin doctor for ICT, but just has to work under the constraints I mentioned above. I would far rather have him posting on here with a little insight and some restraint than not at all. As for the Wyness story - no amount of spin will hide the real facts in this matter and whether your opinion is that he should or should not have been offered a contract the simple facts are that he was, he agreed to it, the club missed the agreed signing date/time and Denzil has been shafted as a result. Another fan favourite who may not be a 90 minute player any more but certainly still has plenty to offer has also been unceremoniously shipped out in his testimonial year yet the one contract hold-out who has been threatened with having his offer withdrawn seems fireproof ..........

Dennis Wyness
As far as I heard, he was supposed to sign it on Friday but a club official either couldnt make it or didnt turn up with the paperwork. NOT Dennis' fault at all. For those who arent bothered about him getting a contract based on his performances, think for a minute about the methods in use over the last season, perhaps a few names to help you .... Barry Wilson .... John Rankin .... Dennis Wyness ..... is the penny dropping yet. The treatment of senior players at the club, irrespective of whether you would offer them a contract or not is absolutely appalling. no wonder many do not want to stay.

Dean McDonald to Toronto
pachuco - I am a TFC season ticket holder too (section 113) and the one who broke the story on the U-Sector and RPB sites .... I am guessing he perhaps didnt impress in training camp as he has not featured in any games .... shame.

I think it is fair play to have a separate thread about Denzil so the club can see how pissed off the fans are about this latest farce in man management.

Another week Still no Contracts
Don't you mean "will have" turned down the offer. The PR juggernaut hamster wheel has not got into motion yet and released a statement. Yes LG, cage is well and truly rattled. I think we all know Denzil is one of the good guys and with him, John Rankin and Barry Wilson all appearing to be shown the door at some point during this season or at the end of it (along with others), it doesnt bode well. :008: :008: :008: :008:
