Although I tend to agree with the statement above, how many banks or businesses said something similar in the last few months ....... prior to their employees packing everything into cardboard boxes.

Am i missing something ? He was last online less than an hour ago and I am not aware of any admin action taken on his account other than a single removed post.

and Caley and Thistle, as well as the merger, are part of the history of ICT whether you/we like it or not !
-
ICT has no divine right to receive the support of former Caley or Thistle fans, it is up to the fans to choose their own path. Many of us (most of us?) chose ICT, but we have to accept that others moved on. I have fond memories of going to Telford Street for Caley games. Whilst I chose to transfer my allegiance to ICT at the time of the merger and stopped following my "big" league team (Celtic), others like BNP or Kavs (to name two who I know have stuck to their principles) chose instead to follow their "big" teams from that time onwards. I can respect their decisions and although I have taken a slagging from both over the years, I hope they can also respect mine regardless of their attitude or feeling towards ICT. In trying to understand the fervour of people like BNP, I have sometimes asked myself how I would react if a suggestion was made to merge Caley Thistle and Ross County and build a new ground at somewhere like Tore .... to say I would be raging would be the biggest understatement going !!!! Because my work circumstances changed during the ICT days rather than Caley days, and I was able to go to most home games as well as a decent amount of away games, I definitely became more "involved" on an emotional/passionate basis with ICT than i ever was with Caley. If something like that was ever suggested, I have a feeling I would be just as vociferous, just as resistant and just as bitter (and I dont mean that in an abusive way) as BNP or others who have never set foot inside the TCS.

think we can close this thread now that our "guest" has been banished. Feel free to start a normal discussion on the main board.

This site is fun http://www.scamorama.com/ as is this one http://www.dumbentia.com/gallery_scammers.html

I use FF 3.0.3 and iPhone as well - couldnt reproduce the problem on Firefox but saw was able to reproduce it on iPhone. Try it now - think I found and fixed the problem
-
yeah, I wouldnt normally post this as these scams are almost as common as the 419 (Nigerian) scams but with all the recent mergers, it seems that those who perpetrate this type of fraud are taking advantage of people's fears over the financial crisis and perhaps confusion over what bank they are actually with now and ramping up their attempts big style.
-
One of the security bulletins that comes into my inbox each day has reported a HUGE upswing in phishing activity around banks, some explicitly taking advantage of recent bank acquisitions and mergers during the current financial crisis. although the newsletter I received is focussed on American banks, it is not unreasonable to expect the same trick to be tried with UK banks. Bottom line - if you get an email from your bank asking you to divulge account details (because they have now merged with another or something like that) dont respond. Call your bank, or ignore the email. Banks will NEVER ask you to reconfirm your account info online (other than asking for a password when logging in to electronic banking)

nahh, just banned him. no sport in this one, unlike some of the more eloquent posters we sometimes get from other teams' supporters. what a waste of a placenta.

Be sure to wear your colours - make it easier for the stewards to turf you out.

MP signed during the transfer window in January 2007 and made a total of 22 appearances (10 starts, 12 sub) and scored 3 times. 11 of his 22 appearances (and two of his three goals) were from Jan - May 2007 and he did show potential from what I can remember of the comments made by fans at the time. However, last season (2007/08) he managed only 4 starts and 7 appearances from the subs bench. His 4 starts (and his sub appearances) were all between January and April 2008. Prior to that date and once again after it he was out injured !!! ICT simply cannot afford a player who can only play 4 months of the year (Jan - April/May each year !!) and be on the treatment table the rest of it.
-
According to the link, it was for comments made to the referee - not clear if it was a second yellow or a straight red - but it would have had to be something quite nasty to get a straight red !
-
I think some did rate him, but unfortunately he spent more time out injured during his ICT career than he did being available for selection. I think I am right in saying that his injury was going to keep him out until at least January and personally, I would rather the club freed up that wage so they might be able to make decent offers to the likes of Munro, Black, Cowie etc.
-
Its a shame as he did seem to have some potential but I think its the right decision given his history of injury. Good luck to him, and best wishes for a full recovery from this (and future) injuries

I remember Marston Pedigree, Theakstons Old Peculier and Martson Owd Roger from my university days .... feckin rocket fuel one and all in terms of getting you drunk and hungover. I also worked in a bar in London for about a year where the IPA was regarded as one of the best in the capital, the bar owner was an old lady who was very particular about her beers and her husband was head trainer for Bass Charrington in the east end (at Silvertown in the docklands - now gone I believe). He prepared and tapped all the barrels each weekend and made sure all the lines were perfect. It really was a pure pint and people came from miles around to sample it. Its a shame to note that most of the brands from Bass are now owned by Coors which also owns Molson here in Canada and that ales for export are brewed by Anheuser Busch. In Canada, my beer of choice is Alexander Keiths, a Nova Scotian lager that is as close to a decent Scottish lager that I have tasted. Some bars do have Tennents but it tastes foul. Not sure if its the Tennents itself, or the fact that it is a lookalike beer which is "brewed under license". If I cant get Keiths, I will usually opt for Stella or Molson Canadian (I dont touch Labatts). When shopping at the Beer Store or LCBO (Beer Store just sells beer, LCBO is like an off license - they dont sell alcohol in supermarkets over here), I usually grab some Keiths but have also been known to indulge in Innis & Gunn, Caledonian 80/-, Tuborg, Stella, Creemore, Amsterdam Blonde, Sleemans or such like. Canada has a pretty vibrant "micro" and "craft" brewery community so there are loads of decent ones to try in amongst the mass produced stuff. The absolute worst "beer" I have tried is "Scotch Ale" a malted drink that I had one sip of and poured down the sink. It is foul, foul, foul.

Like it or not Charles, the history of both Caley and Thistle are important parts of the history of ICT. LSM was a part of that history on the Caley side. Alan may not want LSM associated with ICT or this ICT site in any way, and that is his right as one of the publishers, but those of us who did embrace the new club dont forget our roots. stuff like that should be preserved for posterity !!!! The same applies for the documents from up the hill ! If it means that the only place it can go is on Mantis' site or on a Thistle site for any of the thistle stuff then so be it. It would be a shame to see it disappear forever.

I am with CaleyD on this one ..... there are almost always now three parties involved in negotiations and I think most of us have a similar opinion about agents ! A couple of weeks ago the noise coming from the club was that they wanted to sit down with certain players in coming weeks and discuss things. Last week the noises were coming from the player basically saying he wants to do the same. Lets hope the agent (if there is one) can organise that to happen sometime during this international break.
-
Kind of thought that would be the response, but its fair comment and I can understand - if not agree with - your reasoning. Would definitely be interested in reading over them again via Mantis' site if he could host them.
-
I read that too .... we must get him signed up. The only reason for not signing him up would be if HE refuses, and it sounded like he was not going to do that with his "make me an offer" type plea. I have been impressed with Black when listening to commentary over the last few months, but was really impressed with him when I saw a game in person last week. He has matured in so many ways over the last season or two and quite simply would be the first name on the teamsheet of 99% of people asked to pick a team out of our squad.

There was definitely a lot at the St Johnstone game at McDiarmid. I was one of those who couldnt get into the away stand (which was full) and ended up in the main stand with hundreds of other Caley fans (or to be more accurate - football fans, as i was in with a group of workmates, most of whom were jaggies). Not sure how many were locked out, I would put it at dozens (who stood on the hill looking in) or perhaps even into the hundreds rather than 'thousands'. I was also at Hampden for the ICT semis and there was certainly more than 1200 at each of those games. However, one common problem of both sides is the lack of crowds for the following weeks after those big games
