OK - its launched, and maybe I should be bitter after 12 years of providing the club with a website (both officially and unofficially) ... but you know what, I am not bitter, I am relieved. The site is being run by the club from the stadium and there is at least 1 member of staff who will be spending considerable time keeping it updated so that should be good. There will be commercial opportunities available and I am told that it is planned to offer both live audio and live video but that will not be until some time in the future. We will continue to supply the club with their club shop for the next month or so at which time they should be ready to launch their own one on the site. It should also not take too long for online ticketing to become available. I would say - bear with them - they will get there as far as the website is concerned. Anyone who has produced a website will know you do a s***load of work in the background and users dont realise just how much time or effort it takes. It may lack polish right now but I am sure that Fiona and the PTV team will sort that out.

Only Celtic, Rangers, Hearts and maybe Aberdeen would be steps-up. moving to any other team in the SPL is a sideways step. Some of the other teams have the POTENTIAL to be bigger (again), in a timescale that ICT probably couldnt match, but no-one can argue that ICT havent got potential either - just look at what we have managed to do in the last12 years. ALSO - Lets not forget that these 'bigger' teams also have the POTENTIAL to go in the other direction like Raith Rovers or Partick have done .....

I dont think we really know what the minutiae of the ICT wage structure is - and personally, I dont really want to as some things should be private between employer and employee. One thing we do know from comments in the press last season is that ICT continue to pay a fairly small basic wage (by SPL standards) but with good bonuses for achieving results. I have heard various rumours of the ICT wage being anywhere in the range from 500 p/w to 1000 p/w for first team players and most players probably fit in there somewhere - although the 500 figure has been doing the rounds since we were in division 1 so who knows .. I think that as a club we have got it right - pay a decent basic wage - not massive, but still decent - but also give the players very good bonuses for achievement. no-one can argue that our players have 'achieved' in the last couple of seasons so maybe other teams should look at the way we do it instead of harping on about the size of their pay packets ..... PERFORMANCE RELATED PAY in other words !!! A player on 1k per week 'achieving' a good finish in the SPL with ICT and receiving a share of the SPL prize money which increases a fair bit depending on which place the team finishes in, can probably earn more than a player on higher wages elsewhere if that team has a less attractive bonus scheme ..........

Saw this post before it had any replies and was going to comment on Ross' determination and effort over the years. However, I decided not to comment as I wasnt there on Saturday and couldnt comment on his contribution to this week's game. I am glad to say I wholeheartedly agree with AGENT N's posting. Ross has defied the odds and the critics for 10 years to be one of our most dependable players and I hope we get 10 more years out of him !!!!! - he may not be the most elegant of players but you can never doubt his commitment or effort.

Dods' situation is a completely different scenario to Webster's. As HC says, he hasnt been relegated to the sidelines after his request - he was still in the team, and still captained the side. I am happy to eat humble pie and admit I was wrong about his motivation (on the field). I am still unhappy about the public nature of the request and as a supporter of the club, probably biased because I dont want our good players to ever 'want-away' but I think most of those who were at the game on Saturday or like me had to make do with internet radio couldnt argue that he had a good game and was giving full effort. Maybe his performances over the previous weeks gave some credence to the idea that he wasnt giving his all - although not renowned for his consistency at other clubs he has been immense since he joined ICT and the uncharacteristic errors in his last two games were a little disheartening ....

Another instance where the radio highlighted his performance. The radio commentators were adamant that it should have been a red card and sounded quite suprised when only a yellow was issued. I remember watching this ref a few times as we came up the leagues and always thought that Brines was one of the better ones - sounds like he either had an off-day or has been infected with the crapness virus that seems to affect many of our top officials.

Were we saying the same thing when we almost reached the Scottish Cup Final (twice) and would have qualified for europe without kicking a ball in the final ? The rules in their current format - whether right or wrong - are the rules and Gretna qualified under those rules. Whether you like them or not, you cant bar them from a competition because you dont like them or because they are from a lower division. Not too many champions in the champions league either are there !!!

The radio was quite complimetary about Brines' 1st half performance - talking about how he allowed play to flow and go back to players afterwards to have a word or book them. Listening to second half, his performance sounded far worse and he seemed to get conned a few times into giving decisions one way or the other

If the rules havent changed, he may well qualify based on a couple of criteria ..... - How many games he played for his Scottish club since signing - How many International games he has played in - As a regular T&T player, who was involved in the WC, he may be automatically eligible if he has played a part (player/sub) in something like 80% of their most recent fixtures. ... the other questions are ... would we want him ? would he want to come to us ? and would St Johnstone be willing to sell ?

CaleyD - I cant totally agree with you !!! Whilst we are making many of the same points, the fact remains that this whole thing is a sorry mess that has been conducted by many parties through the media and the player, however professional is not blameless. I am not suggesting a witch-hunt, but I hope he never wears an ICT shirt ever again and I will have no good luck comments for him. We have had players that left at the end of contracts before, for financial reasons, to advance themselves, or to be nearer family - consider Barry Wilson, Dennis Wyness, Barry Robson and even Bobby Mann. Whilst not everyone will like all of these players, they all did a tremendous job for us and moved on - or in two cases, moved on and then back to us. IF DD stays till the end of the season and IF he performs at the same level as last season, and IF he stops his agent (allegedly) leaking things to the press then maybe he can move on with dignity but right now I think most of us are not very happy with him, want him gone, and would not hold the chairman's earlier statements against him if he did decide to sell him to the Grocer. - his efforts last season - :022: - his physical presence in the team - :022: - his desire to be near loved ones - :022: - understandable - - his (alleged) 4 yr + coaching contract request - :022: - cant argue with that, he is looking for security - his reluctance to sign a new contract - :022: - understandable given personal circumstances and lack of 4yr deal - recent reports linking him with DUFC - :020: - recent reports (leaked ?) of him being unhappy - :32: - faxed transfer request (also leaked ?) - :33:

dont think he would WANT to change that statistic ... he is a professional and it would be wrong to suggest he would do something against the team deliberately. It seems we are in danger of letting our disappointment at his transfer request and our desire for him to be dropped because of the uncertainty surrounding that request turn into a 'frankenstein moment' where we send out the lynch mob to confront the monster. I dont want him in the team if he wants away, but I stop short of suggesting he will act anything other than professionally on the park.
