  1. Every transfer window Dundee utd have splashed the cash over paid for players and continue to pay huge wages and where are they? They are still languishing in the championship. I was shocked at Oakley 's departure but overall we still have a team that can produce the goods. Austin and Oakley seemed in the past few matches to work. Let's hope one of our new squad members can make that step up and partner Austin upfront. I hope we can push on and show the likes of Dundee utd, Falkirk etc that money doesn't buy this league a good squad playing for a good manager does.

Damned if they do, damned if they don't....

Sensible to have an early inspection before the team and fans set out.  If conditions deteriorate, can always have another one.

And I remember Robbo was quoted as saying that postponing the previous match because of the wind was "the correct decision".

On bt sport he also said he couldn't see why it couldn't go ahead.

  3. Spfl have actually held the pitch inspection half and hour before the yellow weather warning is in place? Starts at 12.00 today until 11.00 tomorrow. Injuries from falls, slips and trips possible but a game can't go ahead because it's a bit windy?

It’s called supporting your club , moaning about the game being on a Monday night is just ridiculous

Its on tv we as a club get money and it’s a journey just over the bridge to Dingwall , very small minded to think otherwise

It's not just a journey over the bridge for us all. For me to go on a Monday night will involve a 350 mile round trip. Doo able on a weekend but a midweek night with kids of school age is impossible. Not all ictfc fans live in inverness.

It's another poor show by the SFA but a boycott will achieve nothing other than depriving the club of revenue and the fans of watching what could be a highly entertaining match.

Fans can watch it on tv.

The boy certainly has a good bit of experience and would appear to bring a bigger goal threat than our other midfielders having scored 46 career goals from 179 starts , albeit at a different level than some of the other boys in our midfield. This has to be borne in mind as Trafford has scored 12 goals in his career but not scored for us.

So hopefully his assists are decent too, can’t get details on this

    for comparison starts/goals

    McCauley 179 / 46

    Doran 171 / 32

    Walsh 98 / 19

    Polworth 152 / 17

    Welsh 155/ 14

    Trafford 102 / 12

    Chalmers 102 / 5

So on paper this is a decent signing , well done to Robbo in securing the transfer.

Gregor what's his strike rate like compared to our strikers?

  7. Tv putting pounds before fans in this case. See the stenhousemuir/Aberdeen v Dundee/queen of the South being shown on the Sunday. Why couldn't the highland derby be shown on the Sunday? North teams being treated like 2nd class citizens to the potential all premiership tie. And when was the last time there was a cup tie shown on a February Monday night? Anyone else thinking this will end up same as the Ayr game being called off 40 mins before due to bad weather?

Just like your arrogance in assuming that is what SP meant in his post which, given the nature of his previous posts is highly unlikely. There really was no need to red dot the original poster in my opinion.

Wow so your the opinion police. Sorry officer! I'll make sure I get your permission before I express any more opinions.

Your arrogance in assuming that just because a fan attends a certain match it makes them a real fan.

  10. I dont see the tv picking our game for tv bbc alba don't even choose it in the league. Hearts v auchinleck and east Fife v Patrick thistle will be the tv picks and the Celtic or rangers  games on premier sports. Neither us nor county are big enough teams. And even if all assumed 6000 attendance paid adult 15 at least half would be juveniles students oap etc at 5 quid a ticket not a money spinner in any way shape or form boring tie.

Coming back from being 3-0 down at home against Ayr United to win 4-3 was good. A typical Pele performance.

However, that was probably topped by beating East Fife in a replay at Methil just because with a couple of minutes to go, their arrogant player manager Steve Archibald subbed himself so he could take acclaim from the fans for their narrow 'win' a situation we then remedied within seconds before going on to win.

This was my best memory aswell. Can't beat a good fight back.

We are creating quite a lot.  In the last 10 games we are averaging over 12 shots at goal a game. I doubt we have had many periods in our history when we have had more.  It 's a reflection of a team that is looking to get forward and play attractive forward.  I accept we have missed a few chances that should have been taken, but in the last 3 games we have had a bit of bad luck.  Fox was MOTM against County and the woodwork came to the aid both of Queens and Ayr.  With a little more luck and confidence/composure in front of goal we could be turning a few more of these chances into goals.  We are not far from being a pretty good side.

The referee also helped queens not seeing the goal we never got after it hit off the underside of the cross bar and bounced back out after crossing the goal line.

Mmmmm.  Father and Polly’s grandparents in North Stand today. Cynic would say we’re they there to watch his last game?  Think he took a nasty impact to the wrist and then a knock on the heel so sub was probably wise. Flashes of good play from him but at times a tad frustrating again.  As the topic says.....enigma.

Yeah he did get a cynical kick in the heel by Ayr player and got subbed after.
