  1. Big fish in a little pond. Last year we were a little fish in a big pond.
  2. We don't always do what others want us to do. How old 's his granda? BOO
  3. You must be quite young then? Ever heard of Les Fridge?.... :P :019: :P Would that be the same Les Fridge (full-time goalie) who played second fiddle to Jim "5 bellies" Calder (part-time goalie & full time builder)? Edit: added that Jim was part-time vs full-time Les
  4. There certainly is apathy in youir post SMEE, but you can influence them. You can sew a seed in their minds which when the shoots appear will not only result in their attending TCS but in them dragging their neanderthals family with them. Buy matchday programmes and when you get home hand them to your neighbours kids, tell them about the game and you'll generate the interest. As they develop, they'll question following a team they've never seen when there's a team on their doorstep. Your challenge is to ween them off the methadone and show them the light. Good luck in your task.
  5. The only goalkeeper i know who did sh*t hot as a captain was Oliver Kahn Not quite in the same league but was Hamish McAlpine not pretty good for Partick?
  6. :D :D :004: :004: WHY ARE SO MANY POSTERS NOW APPARENTLY BEING AFRAID TO SAY WHAT THEY FEEL ? I certainly have doubts about Butcher being a tactician - but he deserves a clean slate this season - so if you think that it was the Muppets and Brewster to blame - just say it - I say it was 100% down to them - they should have apologised but - hey - lets leave byegones behind us - they have had a cut in their wages and they have learned their lessons - and they will never put us down or let us down again. Butcher must take some of the blame too, he started well but blew it with questionable selections akin to Brewster. If he had been called following the Trust meeting things may have been a lot different as he could've picked his players during the window but that wasn't to be because some fowks don't like being humbled by commoners like us. My personal opinion is that Robbo was and still is the man for the job.
  7. I voted for Ross too, but we might still have been in SPL if he'd been a little less passionate against Falkirk. He plays with his heart a little too much and he needs to use his head more if made captain.
  8. I get it now, one to the second division and another to the third. But one to the first makes three doesn't it?
  9. Why would 2 teams be promoted if Livvy collapse?
  10. Before they were in the SFL was it not?
  11. What has Butcher done to be so high amongst those ratings? If Robbo had come back things could've been so different and we'd be discussing Setanta's demise now.
  12. When you're in the toilets have a look down the pan and try to see where thet flushed our SPL status.
  13. As was witnessed with Dennis, there's no point going backwards. Best seek out some new talent. Although having said that Robson has gone from strength to strength.
  14. what makes you think they can score against elgin or inverness ladies??? lol How a bout a "friendly" against County? At least lionel could get a game and I'm sure the boys would relish facing Brewster. Of course they wouldn't try to hurt his shoulder, honest! 5th Stand its almost time for my prediction to come through, i hope you'll give me the credit when its due. IT was in the STARS I've been suffering a bit from relegation depression and only just came back since a month or so. Isn't it amazing what you find when you need cheering up. Has anyone seen Craig Ralph about?
  15. A bit sublime there Johnboy. I agree and hope he picks up where he left off.
  16. He is bound to do much better in the mould of a number 2.
  17. This is a bit like saying guitar music is boring, there are many composers out there but all we seem to hear are the tunes favoured by marching bands. To those who think we should lose the pipes, we are a highland club and should embrace our culture. Bagpipes originated in the far east Hopefully we'll get 3 points on saturday against Killie, so should we put Falkirk out of the SPL I'd suggest Monty Python's Always look on the bright side of life for the 23rd. I'm sure the whole stadium would join in.
  18. I'd renew CaleyD's contract, the time I've saved queueing for pies.
  19. Or men in white coats with a straitjacket even?
  20. Not sharing your opinion is not as yet an offence. It is when it is clearly delusional. Lionel is a massive talent and you my friend, are in denial.
  21. Not sharing your opinion is not as yet an offence.
  22. That wouldn't have been on post #11 on this thread would it?
  23. You couldn't invent this stuff.
  24. Lionel is not the finished article and his quote shows him to be humble and that he is aware of this. This is his first SPL season and hasn't had a lot of match practice pre-Butcher. He is a skilled player who currently makes a few mistakes but always takes ownership of them. Get off his back and we'll see him come back next year fitter and better. I believe he'll turn into one of our best signings.
