  1. MAGs = Mikey? A? Goalkeeper? perhaps?
  2. As the one who started the thread: I don't think he should have stayed in his job but saying thanks for trying isn't hypocrisy. I think he did his absolute best but it was just too much for him. I think he probably stayed because he really believed he was the man for the job. Probably still does. He was never the most talented player but pure effort produced someone who may be unfortunate in never getting a cap. It's in his make-up. I doubt he never stopped thinking of ways to improve the team the whole time he was here and, even though it was ultimately unsuccessful and even to the detriment of the team, I still say thanks for the effort. In the end, I was more responding to a number of people who bizarrely felt he was deliberately trying to ruin ICT or wasn't too bothered.
  3. Roy Race hasn't had a club in a while. Did well at Melchester.
  4. I've been one of the biggest shouts for Pressley as player-manager but not at this time. A month or two back with an experienced assistiant/DoF, then fine. Right now, we need someone familiar with the players, familiar with Scotland and experienced in management. For that, it's either Robbo or Charlie til summer - hopefully both! Then we can re-assess the situation. (BTW, I don't agree Robbo did fail when he left for a bigger club. I also don't think Butcher had a chance in Oz given that after a fortnight, one of the directors said he wanted him sacked.)
  5. I don't believe for one second you didn't try your best. I'm sure you did your absolute for Inverness and probably still feel that given just a little more time... The fallings out, the getting shot of some long-term ICT players were, I feel, all done with the absolute best intentions. Building a team according to your own designs was the right choice if unsuccessful. Giving youth a chance was admirable if nothing else. Perhaps taking a step back you could maybe try at a lower level where your mistakes and some ridiculous personal accusations about your private life are not back page news. You did your best. Ultimately, it wasn't good enough but for sheer effort, I don't think you can be faulted. Maybe see you in the lower leagues or as assistant somewhere. Thanks for trying at least. Returning so soon wasn't the right choice but good luck wherever you end up. We'll remember the good times and I hope you do too.
  6. Ah, Robbo. I thought you meant Steven Robb??!!
  7. I think it might be just a wee bit too late but it gives us a fighting chance at least. The Board kept that pretty close to their chests!
  8. Wouldn't it be great to know for certain who Ralph Milne is? There's no way at all he's just a fan. I'm sure we all have our ideas but come on Ralph. Who are you really?
  9. I remember his interviews with DU just before he got sacked. Mostly talking about having to prepare for Division 1. Old Eddie was having none of that.
  10. I was creeped out by the girl on the...no, no...that would just be hurtful... :thumb04: I've always been quite in to this stuff even if I don't have much of a belief (or disbelief - healthy skeptic I believe it's called), so what other good evidence is there?
  11. To turn it on it's head, my Arabic is really poor but I do try. I do know plenty of ex-pats that don't. It's pretty sad really as they miss out on so much. Why would you not want to learn at least some of your host country's language (except if you're only there very short-term)? Isn't it part of it all?
  12. Look, Jean-Claude Darcheville has gone. Stop criticising the man!
  13. When I've given in my notice in my job that I'm moving somewhere else, I still put in the work where I am. In fact, I'd be grossly insulted if someone told me they couldn't trust me to do something properly because of something happening in the future. And yep Dods was exactly the same case. He played for over a season knowing he was going.
  14. If Brew fell on his sword, he would struggle to get a job in football management ever again. I've no doubt why he's clinging on here. His entire career is at stake. I doubt the board are doing it for financial reasons either. I think they just don't want to admit a mistake. Not even to themselves.
  15. Probably not. He's earned a hatful and can just come back to a club of our level when his contract expires.
  16. Well, his other job is a social worker. I struggle to think of many more stressful jobs. Give me football management any day (no, really...please...I have unfinished business at ICT...unstarted business even...)
  17. He looked a shadow of the player he was. No way would he displace Esson on that form. In saying that, thought the Dons played well - hmm might be stating the obvious there as they won 4-2. Diamond was outstanding in the back four. Mulgrew is approaching player of the season. McDonald and Severin excellent in midfield. Alonko always dangerous and Duff is some player. Seems to get dropped every now and then so maybe not consistent but most times I've seen him, I've been hugely impressed.
  18. I think there's a differnce between the VSO and other volunteers, along with TEFL teachers, who are there for the experience. I've currently personal reasons for living abroad but most jobs I do internationally pay at least as well as UK jobs. Same for most professionals. We do them as the host country doesn't have the expertise. There are added factors like travelling, seeing the world etc etc but it's no charity.
  19. Currently conceding four goals against Aberdeen. Not looking at all like the player on a verge of an international call-up.
  20. I don't think it's to do with money at all. The very fact that they've given Brew money for new players wages shows that they want to stay in the SPL. Unfortunately, they are a pack breed. The little clique just thinks 'what do they know? We had a couple of chances in that game. It's bound to go our way soon.' But it's not luck. It's tactics and player exchanges. Saying week after week 'we need to defend better' or 'we just couldn't score' isn't bad luck, it's the team's playing style.
  21. Thast also what i heard. Was being abusive to the someone in the pub when asked about his caley future and generally causing a disturbance in the pub, saying how he wants to leave, and cant be arsed playing for Brester (understandable) then someone told him he should still play for the club, as he still has a contract, Black then proceded to kick up a fuss, and the guy lamped him one. Thats your big hero whos 100% committed to the cause!! But who knows could all be untrue!!!! What a c*nt Black is if that's true. No matter how sh*te the manager is, I believe a player should still be 100% committed as long as he is contracted to his club. Yes exactly and thats why the anti black chants were started at the half time interval. Especially after just staring into the crowd and what i felt was purposly kicking the ball into the crowd, and then just staring at the crowd and the boys who decided to start the chants against him. Not professinal behaviour in my opinion. So yes he was a good player, did alot of good things for Caley, but now has to go as i dont think he is 100% commiteted after the storys of the Heathmount. Certainly something suspicious going on here...probably more to do with IP addresses than the Heathmount. Anyone prepared to stand up and be named as present during that incident? Fancy naming your sources? Times and dates? Name of the person that punched Black in the supposed Heathmount incident? Thought not. I wonder what Ralph Milne or Bring Back Bavidge think? Or do we already know. Complete load of bull.
  22. I concur completely. It does annoy me when people post about Brew wanting to fail. If I was Brew I wouldn't resign either. This is his last chance after the Dundee Utd fiasco. If he can somehow turn it around, then he has a career. Unfortunately, I don't think he can...but not for want of trying.
  23. The crunch games are behind us. With a new man we have a hope but no more than that. A few good results even less than a month ago and we'd have a good chance.
  24. Can you go out clubbing til 4am in Inverness?
  25. And the players fighting the most are McBain and Duncan. Shows how poor we are when they've become our greatest strengths.
