  1. Why is it always the Arabs states that have to acknowledge Israel first? Israel caused a furore when IIRC Jack Straw said he was visiting Palestine, instead of Palestinians. Israelis don't accept a Palestine - Palestinians don't accept an Israel. Acknowledgment isn't the first step. The IRA have never acknowledged that Northern Ireland is British and vice versa. Hamas have every right to state they are completely opposed to an Israel. It's the means they do it through that should be the source of debate (although if Scotland was illegally occupied by Nazi Germany, I'm not too sure I'd stick with peaceful means).
  2. If that's true it's good news for him, not so good for us though as they'll probably wait til the end of the season and we'll lose him for nothing. Other way around surely? If there's a number of clubs interested, then surely one or two would like to nip in with a transfer fee?
  3. I remember someone saying the same thing about John Major's wife - she didn't deserve it either. But that doesn't mean grievances shouldn't be aired. Should it happen to Bennets junior or Mrs Major? No. Will it? Yes. You can't be in a job that demands the public eye then say it's unfair if people supporting your wages say it's time to go. I think everyone at ICT, be it Grassa, Malky, Brew, the Sutherland twins and the tea lady (oops, sorry, that's Malky too) want ICT to be a success. The question is...have they done their job well enough to be exempt from criticism?

Depends on how much we get. If it's the 40k mark, no, best keep him. Over 100k, sell him and invest all that and more.
  5. Proctor in the Daily Record saying he'd swap cup success for staying in the SPL. Um, what cup success is that??? Is this preparation for a loss to Partick - you can just hear 'naturally we're disappointed but it gives us a chance to focus on moving up the table without any distractions' Also, "it's never nice seeing the manager under a bit of pressure. He's been working tirelessly as ever to try to turn things round so it's not for the lack of effort that we find ourselves in this position." Totally agree. Not for lack of effort. Poor tactics and quality leaving but not being replaced. That's the problem. David Proctor speaks about the cup
  6. Presumably Milne for the third? Surely then, it must mean Cowie and Black staying? If they leave, we have to invest at least every penny into a new midfield (as well as a centrla defender and striker).
  7. Our wide men are usually on their wrong foot meaning the tactic is to go through the middle. Can't understand it myself, especially with only one up. And why did the players look so tired? Isn't fitness everything with Brew?
  8. The supporters ought to be ashamed of themselves. Imagine them doing something as heinous as actually talking about the game.

I'm not too sure Pressley would be so anti-Brew. But given his desire to further his 'football education' (his words), I suspect he's looking to get more in to the coaching side. Can't see he's going to be overly educated in defensive duties at the age of 35 when he's dropping down from the likes of Rangers, Celtic and Hearts.
  10. Certainly didn't work when Levein replaced Brew at Dundee Utd, Walter Smith replaced both PLG or Berti Vogts etc etc through the entire history of football.
  11. ----------Esson---------- Tokely Pressley Munro Hastings Daquin Kerr Vigurs Hamill Burchill (or Milne) Rooney------ Subs: Dargo, Imrie, Duncan, McBain (to cover ML/FBL), Proctor (DM/FBR not CD), Duff (CD not FBR), somekeeper
  12. Where do you think Cowie played? Black has more talent than Duncan but do you think he played better than him today? McBain tired as well (I can't really understand that when they supposedly do so much work on fitness) and still falls over the ball too often but him and Vigurs (our wide players today weirdly) were our most dangerous. I'd be interested to know which midfielder you would have taken off?
  13. I can't see we could have played any better. At the risk of getting boring, a central defender and a quality striker would have made all the difference. As for taking Black off, we had three central midfielders, Duncan, Black and Cowie. We had to get a more attacking line-up, so one had to go. Although Duncan was far from excellent, at least he was involved (seemed to tire a lot which surprised me). Cowie did more than Black, so he had to go. Thought the line-up, tactics and passion were good most of the match but we just lack quality.
  14. Bad result but not a shambles. Just didn't have the quality on the day. Desperately need an organising central defender (Pressley) and a proven striker (Burchill or Milne - even though the latter isn't proven in the SPL)
  15. Best advice I can give is when you're shipping goals, tighten up the defence first and foremost. And keep doing that until yoy build up some results. Also bringing in loans, frees and cheapos can bring in a bit of inspiration.
  16. 0-3 Lack of organisation at the back again. Need a Pressley. Score severely flatters Rangers. I guess though that's why they are paid so much more.
  17. Black's soaking up the midfield. If we're chasing then we need to drop one of the middle three and Black's been weakest here. Think we've played pretty well here. Glad to see Rooney coming on. I'm going to exempt Brew from criticism this week (well, for this game). Doubt the team can play any better.
  18. We've done pretty well. Probably the best team. Certainly the best chances. Duncan and McBain still struggle with the ball at their feet but Vigurs probably man of the match so far. Hastings doing well supporting him.
  19. Brew trying to trick Rangers by playing Vigurs on the left and McBain on the right. Clever, clever man. They'll not be expecting that! (for a very good reason)
  20. > Novo wide left against Tokely No chance of a booking there then!
  21. Nah, I'm sure he does care. It's his career. I'd care about my patient if I was performing brain surgery - but I wouldn't have the skills to do anything about it.
  22. Don't think we're even playing for a win.
  23. Going for experience then. Soak up the midfield as that's where Rangers are really dangerous - Miller being really an attacking midfielder but a poor apology for an attacker (cue: hat-trick!). I don't expect us to win but it's about the best team we can field for a draw. It's backs to the walls time. Looking forward to this on ART. (should also be free on Libya tv too if you can get it).
  24. As Malky says, 'What crisis?' Oh, yeah, that crisis.
