  1. Well said. The way both Celtic and Rangers are playing just now I think they're more than worthy of a place in the Premier League in England..... Blue Square that is.
  2. What they do? Havnt read anything about it in the papers There was a tiny snippet in the Sun on Monday that made out that it was random punters that just happened to be outside the ground and were singing. Funny, that as the Falkirk Stadium is a wee bit out of the way for folk to just be randomly wandering past! Sky TV cut the audio feed on the broadcast during the 'silence'. With the Old Firm harping on about going down to England to play, can you imagine Celtic fans doing that on rememberance Sunday at a ground down south..... there would be an absolute riot! Luckily as it's happened in Scotland it gets swept under the carpet and prevents further shame for our country. I can't understand so-called 'fans' of any team voicing any disrespect during a silence, especially as in this case it effectively shames the memory of Celtic players and fans who paid the ultimate price for their country in WW1 etc.
  3. But i dont see why that club should be charged because of them having tear gas? They are alowed to in Romania, so why not? If you could in Britain im sure at OF games they would carry them. Russian police carry weapons but because they were not used nothing is made of it. You can clearly view in the footage that the fans are attacking the stewards and they are using the gas to fend them off. They've not been charged because they HAD cs gas. They've been charged because of their overall inept handling of the match, which may very well include the inappropriate USE of weapons during the event such as batons and cs gas. In the footage shown of a particular flashpoint it does indeed indicate that the crowd in that section were confronting stewards. Again, think about it in the context of our games - you always see fans having a bit of vocal argy-bargy with stewards about standing up etc. Imagine then that our stewards had cs gas and sprayed fans to get them to sit down.... what do you think would happen then? The situation was definitely inflamed and their stewarding was counter-productive. No excuse of course, but perhaps understandable when put in the context of the handling of some of the incidents that resulted in the initial flashpoints. We live in times when the health and safety of fans at football times is paramount. It might seem like a trivial matter to force thousands of fans to enter via limited turnstile numbers, but just think about stadium tragedies that have occurred around the world with stadium access issues as a contributory factor. The pre-match risk assessment of the match required one thing, but the Romanian side did another. On that basis alone they are right to be charged. Again, thinking of us - imagine if all the fans at our games had to enter via one turnstile on the main stand and had to stand in fenced off pens waiting to get in 2 at a time.... while at the same time police with batons 'helping' you along your way and trigger-happy stewards are spraying cs gas on mass into the penned crowd to stop them complaining at the wait. Sounds a bit extreme does it not and pretty dangerous if you realise that cs gas disorientates people and can cause severe breathing difficulties. I've only heard stories from reliable sources so I can only comment on the basis of what i've been told from fans that were there (all of whom condemn the extreme actions from Rangers fans that were reported).... but funnily enough many of the damning reports in the papers were also reported third-hand from reporters that weren't even there e.g. Bill Leckie in yesterday's Sun. I'm not in any way supporting what their fans did but just trying to suggest that the media will always report the incident in a way that is most sensational. There are clearly various parties to blame for the whole fiasco and once the matter is fully investigated, with ALL tv/cctv footage reviewed, then hopefully the appropriate punishments are dealt out.
  4. It's always interesting to see how these things are reported in the press and how that compares to the reality. There's no excuse for ripping up seats etc but some of the independent stories that i've heard from reliable sources backup the claims of shocking stewarding, policing, and match organisation. I mean, stewards armed with CS gas!!!!! In the UK it's classed as a firearm and our cops need special training and are closely monitored in it's use, aftercare of recipients etc..... can you imagine Caley stewards wading in with CS gas at our games?!? The Romanian side have now also been charged by UEFA so it would appear as though this confirms the reality that they are not blameless.
  5. Obviously the voting public thought otherwise.
  6. Yes it was at ?31 quid and was almost finished. As I saw it, the shirt was never going to meet it's reserve with only 3 folk watching it (it tells you that on the seller page) so I pulled it to restart it and jazz up the auction listing to (hopefully) achieve the reserve. The lead bidder at that time had also contacted me direct to tell me what his max bid was and whether i'd be prepared to accept that. Incidently, he is the lead bidder again just now. The shirt was up for sale before ages ago and yes I did pull it. The reason for that was because I was scunnered by grief I got off someone for selling the shirt so I thought 'sod it'! At that point in time it was sitting at just over ?200 believe it or not. In hindsight, at that kind of price, I should just have let it run it's course and put up with the flack! It's on ebay with a reserve. The general idea of that is to encourage more people to bid on it early and get a 'stake' in the auction. If I say a top-whack price on here then the result would be that people don't bid a penny and the auction possibly goes nowhere. However if people bid up to their maximum then it keeps the auction process going and they might secure the shirt. There's nothing to stop people making me an offer. At the end of the day, what is a pre-merger shirt worth to an ICT supporter? One person might think 20 quid is fair, while someone might be prepared to blow a few hundred.... who knows. Is it in my interests to ask for a price that might be lower than what some folk are prepared to pay, or do the opposite and put folk off by asking for a high price? Here's a story for you that illustrates the situation. I sold an old Scotland shirt on ebay a few years ago and ideally wanted ?100 quid for it. I would have been delighted with that amount. It achieved a reserve of ?70 within a day and at auction end sold for ?360 with 3 bidders fighting over it in the last minutes. I would have happily sold it for 70 - 100 quid on day one and, effectively, undersold it for what it was 'worth' on the market. The sale proceeds are going to be used for home improvements so i'm basically selling stuff of reasonable value that is doing nothing so that work can get underway sooner rather than later. I haven't worn the shirts to games or playing 5s for ages so it's a case of higher priorities ruling at the moment. My garage has been sorted out too into 'car boot' piles and ebay piles. Hope that explains why i'm being slightly greedy in what I want the shirt to sell for.
  7. The bidding on my Caley shirt has reached fever pitch - almost 3 days in and now sitting at a whopping ?1.04.
  8. BICT - just out of curiosity do you have any history to these tops Not really.... well, other than an inspired 5-a-sides performance that I once put in whilst wearing the old ICT shirt. I remember scoring a peach of a goal - a ping into the top corner from just inside the opposition half.
  9. The point of having a reserve on the shirts is to encourage early bidding by multiple interested parties (rather than the usual ebay last second bidding) and to ensure that it doesn't go for less than I want it to. If you're interested bid away and help the process along. People sometimes also try to offer amounts 'off auction' to secure the item and make sure they don't miss out at the last minute by a vulture bidder! I have the option of reducing the reserve at any point also if it looked like it wasn't quite going to reach it.
  10. BID ON MY CALEY FC SHIRT HERE Pre merger Caley shirt now live on ebay :boldblue: I'll be at the cup final if anyone wants to bid on it / buy it and do exhange in person.
  11. It'll happen...... dug up and stuck in the front row.... or perhaps, more tastefully, a simple urn on the stage. Vote for the twins :)
  12. 'Jedward' stay in for another week....... Twins to win. I've voted for them every week and don't mind admitting it. The show would be boring without them. All the folk moaning about them aren't picking up the phone for other acts obviously. I'm just voting for them to help make a mockery of the show and to have a laugh at the semi-talented "you haven't heard the last of me" bunch who find themselves in the bottom 2 each week Once the twins are out, then the show will end up becoming the usual sob story fest that we see each year. Dead relatives and other tear-jerking hard-luck stories will be dragged out to try and win your vote. Keep the twins in to prevent that happening folks...... or prepare yourself for tales of woe. :cry03:
  13. Caledonian FC shirt going back on ebay to get shifted - auction will start Monday evening at 7pm. It's on there with reserve set. If anyone wants to make me an offer then give me a shout.
  14. He has another quality item too..... chewing gum
  15. you can't set a reserve less than 50 quid.
  16. The shirts are dying on their feet once again. There is very little interest on ebay with virtually no 'watchers' keeping track of them. I'm going to end the auctions early and get them relisted without reserve to try and prompt some bidding. I'm thinking the whole concept of a reserve put folk off.
  17. Hmm... with some of the offers i've had 'off auction' it would seem that some folk don't place much value on the shirts! Fair enough if you could pick them up no problem but with some of the offers i've had, you would be mistaken for thinking that I was trying to flog last season's away shirt :D
  18. Cheers. It feels like i'm selling the crown jewels, but i've no intention of giving them away for Poundland prices! Afterall, I'm hoping that my home improvement fund will stretch to a wee bit more than a bag of nails and a Poundland budget hammer. :D
  19. Needs must and i've stuck some old shirts on ebay. I had them up for sale before but withdrew them due to a combination of lack of interest and another factor that i'll not go into :024: Anyway, hopefully they'll go to a home that will give them lots of wear. Ebay links for you all: Inverness Thistle Shirt Caledonian FC Shirt old ICT goalie shirt old ICT shirt All proceeds going to the 'home improvements fund raising campaign'
  20. Your right in what you say. I'll not name names, but at the time of one 'manager must go' campaign, I inadvertently found out that one of the pro-manager posters was a member of the backroom team. Obviously they are entitled to voice their opinion as much as anyone else but shouldn't be on here masquerading as a regular fan. There's always bound to be a small number of posters who are not quite as they seem on any forum.
  21. Aye... i'm having to wear the home shorts with my new away shirt for 5-a-sides. I'm wondering if they're maybe considering not bothering with stocking them on the basis that they won't sell enough - the same scenario that prevents us getting gk shirts etc.
  22. From what I could make out from his shouting it was to do with Bulvitis's positioning. At that point in the game they had been losing some of the runners and were getting carved open a bit. The pitch looked very heavy underfoot following all the rain - probably didn't help the quality of the football much. Had a chuckle at old bloke wandering round with the wee handwritten sign showing the prize draw numbers getting the banter with folk.
  23. Quality saves for the ones he kept out and he was pretty unlucky with a few of the ones he didn't save too.
  24. I'll be there. Will be dragging along my Celtic-supporting mate too so that he can see what a proper fitba match looks like.
