So the gate money from home games won't even cover the players' wages. Then there is NI, player insurance, and possibly pension payments.

Then wages and other costs for manager, coaching staff and all other employees of the club.  Running and maintenance costs for the ground and stadium - everything from the electricity bill to the upkeep of the pitch to the laundry bill.  Contractor & third party costs - security, catering, legal, transport etc.  And possibly the big one - I haven't looked at the accounts recently - servicing debts and loans.

Other sources of income - hospitality, the shop, sponsorship/advertising, TV, cup runs.  Won't come close to meeting these costs.  I have left transfers out because that's simply not an option right now.

So then you are down to directors or other parties putting in money with little expectation of return.  Or finding something else to generate revenue.

Last November, the Chairman of Halifax Town - now in the National League - revealed that it costs £150,000 per month to keep the club going.   Our 2,289 attendees, going to 2 home games in a month, would provide ICT with no more than £80,000 before costs.

Which is why it seems all the stranger than our club does not maximise ways to bring in money like similar clubs our size. Hospitality barely runs and is so expensive when it does it only suits corporate. Other clubs do different levels of hospitality to suit all pockets. We didn't even push merchandise at Christmas.

Partick and Ayr have fantastic bars at the ground with food and both are packed to the rafters. Our sports bar is awful. Poor fare and service.

They changed the season ticket tiers without explanation scraping the 16-25 bracket. I'm told when this was introduced it was the most popular ticket. Young adults this age are more likely to attend regularly rather than young children who I suspect disappear to other activities and when parents have to pay for them.

Our SM offering is so sanitised compared to before. Other clubs smaller than us have far better media offering again maximising income.

Yes go after battery farms, concerts etc. But don't forgot the day to day money which surely all adds up.

Oh and don't get me started on how top heavy we are on management off field. Hardly needed. Local knowledge for corporate stuff sadly lacking too.

An utterly shameful performance tonight. Mortifying to be in this position but to approach the game with such little intent or urgency is unforgivable and up there with one of the most insipid performances I can recall in such a crucial game.

We finished the game with 6 defenders on the park and showed little or no desire to actually win the game. The tactics are garbage, players bang out of form start and play far too long. Substitutions are predictably bizarre, negative and far too late to make an impact. Ferguson was up the tunnel almost before the final whistle. Gardiner also disappeared extremely quickly.

Genuinely one of the most depressing experiences in 30 years of watching ICT. I simply cannot see us staying up with this group of players and management.

    Beyond grim.

Hard to disagree with any of that sadly

A spell in Division 1 will be a good opportunity to blood our youngsters and build a team from within our own ranks which will hopefully, within a couple of seasons, challenge for promotion back to the Championship.

OMG no it won't. Just as a spell in the championship has been disastrous this would be worse.

Eh, one place higher than we would've been if Dodds had stuck about. Poor loan signings yes, but he has also had to deal with the fodder that Dodds had brought in in the Summer Window

Getting rid of Dodds was correct decision. However he was not replaced by the right person at that time imho

Of course I am swayed by the memories of Dunc the toffee and I know that his fighting spirit will never die. I could argue and argue on here but to me this is NOT the team that Dunc wanted it was more about staying within unbelievable budget restrictions. And who do we have to go "direct" FFS ?? We dont play pretty football - we simply do not have any particular individual who can turn a game.  Lets face it this team are the worst in our history and our only escape route is the dogs of war mentality.

Where is the evidence of the dogs of War mentality? I haven't seen any sign of it. His post match interviews are now bizarre and show no urgency or acceptance of where we are. We last won at home in November. I just want this season to end.

Yellow cards for simulation can be appealed - for Kerr's first booking how evident was the simulation? Was the ref unsighted?

We were down other end so hard to tell. Ref seemed right on it and flashed yellow quickly. Doubt we will win without good evidence tbh

Given the apparent financial predicament of the club, has there been any discussion about the size of last year's Scottish Cup bonus? On the face of it the sum being talked about was well over £1m and if that was the case that should have given some stability for a year.

I'm told it paid off directors loans?

Didn’t make it to Firhill today, but two mates did. When he came over and heard some dissent his attitude changed immediately. He couldn’t believe fans would be disgruntled. He is absolutely detached  from the reality of where we are. This is dire  ☹️.

I don't think he has a clue re where we are this season. His priorities are so obviously different to ours? What on earth made him come over like that. Got pretty unpleasant as he seemed to gesture we lost due to be 10 men? Em no we didn't....

  9. Not long home. Where to start....

Most of 1st half we were better team. Heading towards 0-0 at half time when Samuel quite clearly manhandled to ground. Beaton says no pen....really? To add insult to injury Partick go up other end and score. Looked suspiciously offside to us but given.

Never really got going after that. Could have played till midnight and not scored. No idea re Kerr first yellow but second was just madness. Dunc seems clueless. Looks like board were starstruck and we are stuck with him. Feel sorry for the players as they put in a shift but we really are a poor team and fully deserve to be in 9th sadly.

Not sure I can face a home game next week....

The stats aren’t actually bad for a match away to the side in 3rd place, and with us a man down for half an hour!

I was there. If we played till midnight we wouldn't have scored. After the non pen then their offside goal we never looked like doing anything

Cameron Ferguson has signed for Forres, who thanked ICT for making this possible - not exactly sure what we did other than have him on trial for a few weeks.

Apparently we can't sign him due to English FA rules? He's been at Newcastle, Newcastle u21s and Forfar. So that's the technicality
