I think the attitude of 'we expect 6 points from the next two games' permeated the club after Hampden. They were made to look like easy games. Add in the fact that new trialists are being looked at and you can see uncertainty in forming a solid group. Shape wise yesterday was highlighted with potentially 5 main defenders until Nikola was withdrawn. Sending on three attacking subs at full time to salvage something in added time seemed optimistic.  Gaston worked the referee to perfection adding to the overall headache. Partick Thistle away next Saturday should be fun.

    This.....

The defence has looked fragile all this season including when we've won. Devine for example doesn't suit this passing game.

Referee was a pedant and Gaston took full advantage. At one point he got a free kick after being fouled by her own player!

  2. Personally think the defence looks fragile even when we win? I'd like a bit of strength there.

Number one wish though is signing Spoony up till end of season. Hopefully Roddy and Welsh fully fit soon. We also miss Carson badly and hope things improve for him soon so he can return

Sorry to revive an old thread, but I see on BBC news that the police have today released pictures of 5 men they would like to speak to regarding “culpable and reckless conduct” at the cup final, and disappointingly, 3 of them look like they are in the ICT section. Curious that it has taken 6 months for them to take this step? I didn’t see any problems from our fans, or the other lot, that day. Any idea what this is about?

[Goes without saying I’m sure, but don’t name names.]

Saw that as well and like you thought it strange it's only come to light now?

I wish Robertson all the best and I am sure he gave ICT a lot of help,  be that in his community efforts,or finding raw talent for the club.

He was big enough to shout for help when he needed it personally and that was a sign of his character and integrity.

Let's move on and consider using the salary to pay for an SLO,who can really break down barriers between club and supporters and can make it his or her mission to encourage more people to the Caledonian Stadium.

Many clubs have a full time SLO who can do any amount of add on roles.

Even a voluntary role for an effective SLO would be a start? Can't see the CEO bring overly keen though

I spotted Duffy warming up during the first half so checked who were out at half time and Hyde wasn’t there. The unused outfield subs were Duffy, Boyce and Thomson.

Maybe it was a late change as Hyde picked up a knock?

    Dunno..lol Maybe I imagined it?

  6. Eye bleeding at times but we were able to grind out a win! We need points at moment and pretty football can wait.Good to see us becoming a bit more streetwise under Ferguson eg keeping ball in corner as long as we could in last couple of minutes

This is what Saturday evenings should feel like!

The second half was a hard watch at times, but we got the job done. Ridgers dealt with everything and a few timely blocks and some poor finishing helped too.

The first half was quite even and we scored at the right time as Airdrie seemed to be getting on top. It was a great, calm finish by Wotherspoon which more than made up for the one he skied earlier (in his defence I thought it came on to him very quickly).

I also thought the referee did us a big favour early in the second half. On a different day Anderson would have been penalised and a penalty awarded. However I thought we should have got one shortly after too.

It’s nice not to be gifting goals although we did have some squeaky bum moments in defence, with Airdrie’s right wing back causing a lot of problems.

Mckay and Wotherspoon worked their socks off. Longstaff and Shaw tried to push forward but also helped the full backs well. Anderson and Gilmour are developing a good partnership.

But the biggest credit must go to our walking wounded. Last night all of our starting defenders were on the injury list, and Carson and Devine cannot have been fully fit when they were subbed in the second half. Udjur was not quite as composed today but did what he had to, whilst Harper had a bit of a torrid time defensively at times but credit them both for getting through the game. Sheridan could prove an asset when he is fully match sharp, with one defensive tackle standing out for me today. Lodovica and Brooks still do not convince me though.

I was surprised to see Boyce on the bench, along with Duffy (who was there rather than Hyde from the teams published).

We may lose ground on Tuesday when some of our opponents play and Saturday will be a big test at Tannadice.

But let’s enjoy the moment. It’s  long time since we’ve had a home win to kick start a Saturday evening.

Hyde was definitely warming up during game??
