BBC link I like the guy but he hasn't won a thing and flopped big time when he was in England... will you be happy with him as new Scotland manager??
-
Get a decent centre half and put Bully to right back... trust me, he has everything required to play as a full back - pace, power, energy, likes to get forward and he'd be less of a liability there as he is at centre half!! At only 22 he should definitely be signed on a longer deal... guarentee he will pay it back in full
-
If we can beat them in the league at some point this season i would be happy. Both are a must or Butcher doesn't even get the option to stay
-
I was suggesting we get Bully on a longer contract because he will fetch a fee at somepoint (not now when he is out of contract in 2 weeks!) .. only 22 and a very talented player IMO There is no point in using the 1 yr contracts to see who has made an impression and then not sign them for a longer duration... we're just advertising them to the rest of the league agreed, I had high hopes for Barrowman this year but Butcher obviously doesn't fancy him so he is just taking up wages at the moment
-
I don't see how everyone has given up hope... Dundee are no world beaters and will lose points a long the way. We are starting to sort out our defence.. everything's to play for
-
1) Can we afford to let them go for free? Even if they are sold at a bargain basement price then it's something... because of the bosman ruling we have no sellable assets if we don't offer longer contracts. I'm not suggesting every player we signed at the start of the season deserves the contract extension but the management should be able to tell by now which players will attract a fee i.e. Hayes, Foran & Bully 2) Depends on whether they are made to feel wanted by the club... at the moment these players will be without a job come May. I'm sure they would agree to have contract extensions with buy-out clauses if need be 3) The new manager wont have money to spend and no players to sell to generate capital if we don't look to offer longer contracts. Grassa is employed to look out for the well-being of the club after any management team is replaced... or what else is he at the club for?? I could see the thinking of 1 year contracts at the start of the season to find out we weren't taking on a load of duds but now the management/club can see which players are performing/carrying value, they should be creating contracts to match that.... this all or nothing attitude is going to see us bust
-
Lionel = 2 clean sheets :021: Can't complain about a draw away to the pars, good result.. 4 points in 2 games.. keep it up :)
-
See that would make more sense... even if we got minimal value to pay the contracts offered it's nothing lost I just can't understand what they're thinking... it's like Leeds before they plumeted down the divisions, we don't have to be all or nothing there is an inbetween. The only way to have an asset to sell is by securing him on at least 2 years otherwise we are just giving them away i.e. Dargo, Rankin, Cowie, Vigurs, Wood, Dodds... all of which are valued at their clubs ridiculous way to conduct business... if anyone can offer an arguement to why they have done this please do
-
also advertises our players to other clubs
-
Man United lost to the likes of Burnley! Exactly, every team in the league is possible of taking points from the other in the EPL this year.. apart from Wolves :party01:
-
I doubt this is his opinion.. he's probably being told that he can't offer contracts at the moment by the club
-
Caley D & Scotty might be able to clarify this but I hope Darren realises the fans aren't happy with Errea (never have been).. the club might be saving a quick buck in mass orders but I don't think they realise the impact a decent strip with a decent shirt brand has on kids/big kids (i.e. me) now-a-days. Strips I have in my drawer at home: 12 different ICT tops varies between home & away (including that orange one :party01: ) Several Scotland tops Sparta Prague IFK Gotenberg Boca Juniors Ajax Fiorentina PSG point is, I buy a lot of tops because they look good and they have a decent sponsor... as a kid you always used to look at the Nike, Adidas, Puma, Kappa tops as the ones you wanted to spend your only ?40 on... or your birthday/christmas money on and it's a simple decision like that which can decide what team you support for the rest of your days. If I was a kid now-a-days and I was looking how to spend my birthday/christmas present I'm not sure I'd chose a bigger than should be, badly made Errea top
-
As long as we get a 6ft something centre half that kicks anything that moves I'll be happy... some cash for Imrie and Barrowman would also come in handy This is a proper rumour but was speaking with a Dundee supporting mate last night, he confirmed that Mihadjuks has already agreed/signed a deal to play for them after Christmas and apparently they are taking a close look at Hayes after he impressed in the cup final.. :D
-
You can't deny his goal ratio.. lower division but it wont be long before another club in the 1st picks him up only 22.. plenty to prove and shouldn't have been doubted by our fans so quickly.. the abuse that one of our own youngsters received before being punted was ridiculous
-
After the abuse fans from this site gave him I wouldn't be suprised if he snubbed us out of principal
-
You say that but remember Chelsea have lost points so far to Everton & Wigan... hardly the top teams in the EPL. Drogba is the best forward in the world at the moment, any team would suffer with him out the line up, his back up is usually Kalou who will also be in Angola so that only leaves Anelka.. still more than capable of doing a job on his own but not as strong a front line It's all about the brummies Villa & Birmingham doing the 2nd city proud... delighted for McLeish. Watched the game last night and Barry-back-pass actually showed himself to be a decent player :D
-
Before Van Persie got injured I stuck a few bob on Arsenal winning the league.. :021: however if they can stay in touching distance until Christmas and buy a decent forward i.e. Gignac then they are more than capable of taking the league. There is a determination about Wenger this season, I think he is desperate to prove all the doubters wrong Chelsea will lose points when Drogba, Essien & Mikel leave for the african nations and unless Man U buy big at Christmas (unlikely) then I can't see them winning the title I wouldn't be suprised to see Liverpool go unbeaten for the rest of the season..

Nothing glamorous but he has been about enough clubs to suggest he is a good professional player and if anything will have a positive effect on the team. As a player, I've never rated him but he'll definitely do a job for us and is probably better than what we have at right back
-
I think he'd do a better job than Sanchez

Brewster - Did a lot of things right. He brought through youth players because he knew we didn't have the spending capabilities of other clubs + Was a hands on manager and involved in everything from trainining to even contributing on the park + Almost every player he's bought has excelled at the club, had a real eye for good/cheap signings + He had an excellent away record, comparitable with only the OF + Excellent fitness regime + He was the man behind our relegation - He had the team playing some dismal football, which resulted in an awful home record - He got rid of/badly treated some of our legends, which resulted in a back lash from the fans - He was awful infront of the camera, some of his interviews were embarrassing - IMO he would be a tremendous assistant manager as demonstrating at C*unty at the moment but in the end as a manager he wasn't good enough Butcher - Brings PR to the club, intices players Brewster might not have because of his status within the game + Media friendly & articulate, I enjoy reading any of his interviews because generally he talks sense + Nearly saved us from relegation & our record with him when we were in the SPL was excellent + Has got us trying to play football, better on the eye than what Brewster produced + For the amount of TV he does I wouldn't be suprised to see this referred to as his part time job - He preferred Zadi & Golly to Hastings - Let 2 of our most talented yougsters leave for County - Although he's brought in some good players he's also brought in some very poor ones - We're sitting mid table in the first division because of our inconsistency - Hasn't managed to beat our rivals on either occasion - Seems to lose all the crucial matches - Lost from winning positions in consecutive matches, which suggests poor fitness - The Team - Isn't bad if we sort out our defence, certainly good enough to compete with any other in the league Tactics - If they work + If they don't - Rooney looks like a completely different player when up top on his own... at 21ish he and Hayes must be worth a few bob if we can tie down decent contracts The Fans - Demanding.... and ill-informed The Board - The one thing that the board has without doubt failed upon throughout it's tenure in the SPL has been turning a potential profit. We have operated poorly as a business by not being able to capatilise on our prise assets... the amount of quality players we have let slip through the net because we've been unable or unwilling to offer contract extensions is ridiculous. The one player we sold for a profit we made an @rse of and now are being sued for it... financially this club has been niave and because of that we are now in the first division paying the price take note - Rooney & Hayes should be signed on as long a contract as they will agree to!!! The Future - I think first of all we need to establish if Butcher is likely to stick around for the long run. I can't imagine we'll get promoted this season no matter who we buy in January Dundee will spend more. His contract runs out at the end of the year so if he is willing to stay great, he can show his dedication to cause and hopefully convince some of our players to stay... I think a lot of fans would appreciate he is wanting to be part of our resurgance. If he is planning on leaving if we don't get promoted it could lead to a mass exodus of players and having to rebuild from scratch with no money and little assets we will struggle
-
Watching the match just now it's sickening to think of 3 players playing in that game that could should be at ICT. Mensing, we had the option to buy him and were outbid by a first division outfit (at the time)... IMO he would have been a great signing for us but we lacked the ambition to offer a competitive salary Hastings, has been excellent for them so far. Don't understand how anyone could consider Golly or Zadi to be better than him Black, probably Hearts best player so far. I can understand it would have been difficult to keep him when his boyhood team had stated their interest but the fact we let him leave for nothing just show the clubs niavety and lack of faith in the player. it's only watching this game today when you realise how far we've dropped
-
Are these rumours or just your own personal Santa list? Na I'm trying to start some speculation... spread the word ;)
-
Rory McCallister back to ICT.... banging in the goals for Brechin!! Lee Bullen but only because I think he's the type of player we need to sign Gregory Tade from Raith, I think he's a player worth picking up before someone else does
-
Scotland need to apply for the 33rd place in the world cup ahead of Ireland... never mind a handball, we were unfairly disadvantaged with Kris Commons claiming to be an international class footballer :icon_police:
-
Does anyone actually know what the teams training regime is? I heard they are only in training from 9-12??? surely that can't be true!!
