  1. Just like when Pele bust the budget to bring in Duncan Shearer!
  2. Spot on, Red 'n' Black. At last, after five luckless games, and a **** of a beating in Glasgow, we did get the breaks v Hearts (free-kick hitting the bar and then of course CB's Roy Of The Rovers exploits) and Brewster has had the good sense and man management skill to frame this as a turning-point, boosting the team's confidence. Since then, Brewster has had the wisdom to play home matches against Gretna and Falkirk. If only CC had thought of that! The analysis of the first few games of the season was generally that we played well and on another day would have taken points... Thank goodness the "other days" are here just now, and long may they remain. I am delighted to see the team flourishing under the new manager, but ICT have always had the spirit to come through a spot of adversity. The real tests may be yet to come, but things are certainly looking better for now. A good wee run of results and maybe we can start thinking about the top 6 again.

    ICT vs Scotland

Hear, hear, Oats. The Highlands rock. I'd have to go for ICT, if we beat Scotland then maybe our Scottish players would finally come into contention for national caps. Admittedly, we haven't the strongest case at the moment while we temporarily prop up the table...
  4. And C*unty could play "Whitey On The Moon"
  5. Hearts have been broken, Many an angry word's been spoken. Families disunited: Fathers and sons on opposite sides! All through the years, Both sides have fought their battles. Now just one team, They're on the run, a new fight's begun, And the thistle and the eagle are one. (thistle and the eagle are wo--on) Bring it on home, Bring it on home etc OK, it's not Shakespeare. But it does bring to mind Daisy Ross pelting down the wing, brim full of enthusiasm and running if not always able to deliver that killer final ball to wee Stewartie, ghosting in to the box. Here's a thought: How many of our current team would have run out to the strains of "Bring it on home" when the song and the stadium were new? Barry? Rosscoe? Hastings?
  6. It certainly helps this season: 8 points from our first 4 games, including a draw with Rangers on the opening day and two away wins! Great stuff!
  7. As we're bringing back former strikers, is it too late to sign Alan Hercher for tonight's game? I seem to remember him scoring an unlikely hat-trick in a 5-0 rout of Arbroath, which may even have been the first ever league game for ICT (or CT as we were then). This was great at the time but had the unfortunate consequence that he was an automatic pick for the next year or so. However, he clearly has the measure of these red lichties...
  8. I'll second the motion to have this astonishing piece of music blared out around the TCS on matchdays. Definitely due a comeback, in my book.
  9. Good old Mikey. He really was a dreadful singer.
  10. Alimci, I applaud your use of resources, but you need to show more attacking intent. I mean, playing Duncan and leaving Wilson on the bench? Bit defensive, don't you think?

    Deja Brew

I still think we should have appointed my Granny Murray as manager. However, I suppose this will leave her with more time to get on with knitting so...... come on ICT and ah, um, eh, Craig eh Brewster!
  12. Dear Charlie Thanks for the commitment, dedication and energy that you have given to the club as a player, coach and manager. You did great things with a fantastic club, and I hope you'll come to look back with pride on the achievements of your term as manager. I've not seen anything to make me doubt that you would have made a success of this season too - as Grassa himself said, "we're traditionally slow starters going back through the years". I'd have loved you to stay, but you are absolutely right to put your family first. It's a brave thing to do, but I'm sure you'll always look back on it as being the right decision - after all, football's only a game and you have your real life to think about. Here's wishing you a happy, contented future, whichever road you choose. I'm sure Caley Thistle will always be able to count on you as a supporter and lifelong friend of the club as well, of course, as an Inverness legend.
