  1. Been there for a few months now, Doing pretty well. Blobby Williamson IMHO would be a better option than "grim reaper" Knox.
  2. grantie isnt a left back, but in the coaches defence they werent in full charge of the team so were doing the best they could, its upto the new manager to identify who can and cant play where Who was in charge of the team then?
  3. Munro is always better as one of a central pairing!
  4. [ ESSON :thumb04: :018: ;) May well be our saviour this season - thought he should have punched for the first goal but he is the closest thing to Jimmy Calder I have ever seen. Jimmy Calder would expect attackers to make bodily contact when dealing with high cross balls and would react accordingly. Esson was at fault for the first goal.
  5. Knox is almost 60 and doesn't have a decent track record in managing a team in his own right. Could he be seeing this as a paid holiday before he retires?
  6. In my book caretaker is not manager. It's kinda what Grassa and John Doc were doing today.
  7. from dons website Archie Knox (Caretaker) 1986-1986 In my book caretaker is not manager. It's kinda what Grassa and John Doc were doing today.
  8. I WOULD ACTUALLY TAKE THOSE 2 WITH NO PROBLEMS thank goodness I'd prefer the Chisolm/Dodds combo to either Knox or the untried Sutton. Jimmy Nicol as well as Eric Black would be firmly on my radar.
  9. Knox never managed Aberdeen DOUBLE GUARANTEED! Anyone know what his record was like at Dundee? Uninspiring IMHO. Team From To Games Won Lost Drawn Bolton 17-10-2007 26-10-2007 2 0 1 1 Dundee 01-08-1984 31-05-1986 14 6 4 4 Surely he was in charge for more games than that at Dundee? He was there for a couple of years!
  10. In 1980, Knox became assistant to Alex Ferguson at Aberdeen, helping the team to two Scottish Cups, the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup and subsequent European Super Cup in his three years with the Dons. In 1983, Knox returned to management with Dundee, where he would spend two-and-a-half years. A short spell back at Aberdeen followed, before following Ferguson to Manchester United in 1986, where he stayed until April 1991. Its there in black and white , thanks for that . as assistant! that's what he's best at.

  12. Heard Jimmy Nicol ex Raith , Millwall and current Aberdeen assistant is being sounded out.
  13. Jimmy Nichol Bruce Rioch Eric Black
  14. Any odds on Eric Black or Bruce Rioch?
  15. Kevin MacDonald or Bruce Rioch or Eric Black or Tezza Butcher
  16. Based in Aberdeen for a while I had the opportunity to see Richard Byrne first hand on many occasions. Although not a favourite with the Aberdeen fans, in my opinion, he is the kind of player every team could do with. Why? He always gives 100%- even when he misplaced a pass and was getting abuse from certain setions of the crowd he wouldn't hide on the pitch and gave his all. He has character by the bucketload and I for one think he's a good signing. Plus-and this is FACT -He is as hard as nails and makes even Tokely look like a jellyfish when it comes to 50/50 challenges. If he gain regain the consistency he displayed at Dunfermline he will be an asset. Could end up being a cult hero. All the best Richie!
  17. Difficult to put a number on number of Partick fans coming up but I've got a feeing crowd will be less than 2500. My prediction 2362 Closest prediction to actual figure gets a pat on head.
  18. I told you guys about this last night. Yesterday, 08:29 PM Post #90 Just heard that Latvian defender has signed.

  20. Yes the very one - you're catching on to sarcasm!
  21. Think there's a place for an under 21 league?
  22. "Time For Action" by Secret Affair could well suit the mood of the fans just now.
  23. That's the most sensible suggestion I've heard yet... It would let the board know what future home attendences will be like if they persist with the present management team We're all going to have to agree on one of these protestations and this seems the most logical. The three season ticket holders in this family WON'T be at the Partick game!
  24. Remember a couple of eighties bands. Cooks of Kindness and Imfamous Kettle Brothers
