  1. agree to disagree on that one m8 but dont take the wrong way i'm not trying to wind you up or anything although i and no doubt your good self wear a poppy with pride but there are others who dont want to wear it for reasons of their own ie anti war or foreign nationals but by sewing it onto the jersey we are making them wear it yes they dont have to come and play in our country you are correct there but you know the slogan one scotland many cultures
  2. David Murray has apologised to both teams and stated that his comments were taken out of context by the press. Sorry to take the wind out of your sails but at no time did he refer to bigotry, just the abuse levied by both sets of fans at each other on internet forums. bigotry? sorry the word i was looking for was sectarian, appolagies.......... :thumb04:
  3. is this not bringing politics into sport? what about the foreign players playing in our country? i think it's up to people themselves to say if they want to wear a poppy or not it's all right for us scottish folk to wear them with pride but you dont see many chinese or asian folk wearing them dou you? It's about a nation remembering those who risked and many lost their lives defending our countries freedom and that of the free world since the Great War. Money raised helps rehabilitate injured soldiers back into society. So no, it's not politics it's about honouring our forces. the point i was trying to make is that not all the players come from our nation we wear the poppies because we choose to wear it but foreifn people might not want to wear it, there must be at least one German player in the SPL plus their is Nakamura at Celtic, he might not choose to wear a poppy but now he HAS to wear it. The point I'm making is that there have been conflicts around the world since the Great War, at the moment we have troops serving in Afghanistan, Iraq, and I'm sure many other hotspots and they are not only serving us but also foreign nationals as they are protecting Freedom. Many of our troops have died in the last few years serving in Afghanistan and Iraq but many more have sustained injuries which will deny them a normal life. I doubt that any self respecting German or Japanese player would be offended if asked to wear a poppy but would probably be more than willing to oblige. takes me to my first point it's bringing politics into sport when all these politicians and everybody else have been saying for years they should be kept seperate all the wars were started by politics dont get me wrong i'm all for honouring the brave men and women who fought in the wars but on the streets of our cities towns and villages
  4. i see David murray has managed to unite the two teams in Dundee in critisism of the ibrox supremo the bold minty said fans fo both teams were just as bad as the OF with their sectarian abuse towards each other.... is this him just trying to deflect from the fact that his own supporters are the worst in Britain

  7. it's a shame the guy has died, sympathies to his family and friends
  8. i was hoping to get up for the game and was even getting a lift on the local celtic bus but the Mrs is poorly so i might not make it now, the bad news is she's got an infection in her voice box the good news is she's not to SPEAK for five days.............. if i do make it what's the chances of getting a ticket? i am well into the flags lets get the atmosphere going
  9. Football fans stand at football matches all over the world without any problems so what's the problems with the stewards at TCS? Celtic fans will no doubt stand up for the whole game this weekend and nothing will be done. Rangers fans sing their vile anti pope bigotry for the whole match nothing gets done. this is our home we pay our money to get in and are treated like the away end. the club should remember who puts the cash in the whole season long. football is the working class man's game solet us enjoy it without hassle.

i think it is about time we got our own language on the tele, the Welsh have had it for years so we should also, i wish i was fluent in the gaelic but i'm not however i'm learning it at the moment. i also think gaelic should be taught in schools all over Scotland, the local council in Renfrewshire are running free classes for adults.
