  1. Have to agree with a lot of what been said here about Butcher. The training that Butcher went for was for the defenders he did'nt do a lot of fitness work. Surely training sessions should be about passing/ movement / shooting/ and if a player does not look fit let them stay back and do some extra running etc. Who's role was it to get the midfield and forwards to link up - why did we never seem to have wide men (wingers) oh ye forgot they were playing as forwards. Every time you read the papers Butchers idea on training was yep the lads were great in training today very competitive kicking one another around the pitch etc (im all for been competitive but in must be directed in the correct way. Why could we have not asked Robbo in once or twice a week to help out with the forwards. Why cant Managers (ego's) let them admit they don't know everything and ask for help in the area's they themselves are weak in? What happens to the players you are not mouth piece's the likes of Vigours - Duff - Rooney all the young one's but are better players then some of the one's Butcher insisted on going with week in week out. - Well they were left out or on the bench. A good manager must be able to see what all his players have and work with them to encourage and get the best out of them not ignore because they don't want to go around shouting and screaming at the rest of there team mates. So hopefully Butcher will have learned a bit more about management .ie man skills and go on to be one of the best.
  2. I would never have said Rooney was lazy he always seemed to give 100% and yep if he got half of many chance's as Boyd well he may have ended up 2nd top scorer in the SPL, ( nothing wrong with that )
  3. IM gutted - and left wondering why did'nt Butcher put Rooney on - the top goal scorer at least give him a change to see if he could get a goal back - no he puts Eric on who before he came to Inverness never scored a goal Im not saying Eric is a bad player but for a vital match point that is needed why not Rooney? Why did he not put him on at Motherwell and Kilmarnock - i think maybe he just does'nt like him - but hey he knows best. At the end of the day the Manager is to blame he cannot let his feelings about a player interfer with the best outcome for the club. I think he gave Imrie to many chance's - anyway all the ranting does not change the result. Doctors differ and patienc's die Managers don't like certain players and teams get relegated. I wish Inverness and the boys all the best and hope they come back up next season.
  4. Sorry to see us in this position I thought we had the chance to go ahead and win against Motherwell and Kilmarnock . As regards the top goal scorers I ve just looked up the stats and Imrie has had 36 starts - Foran 16 Rooney 10 - so draw your own conclusions please and at least give Rooney a chance - he is a natural goal scorer who needs a run in the team and the balls in the box. Barrowman hasnt got many starts either - I think Morais is good player who can score from outside the box therefore he should be playing him on the wing or centre midfield where he can pick out a pass. Who can say how many goals the young Rooney would have got if he had 36 starts ?

    Adam Rooney

like to keep up with whats happening - was able to get to the match this week and i thought Motherwell played well. We have been lucky over the last couple of weeks the team worked really hard but thats not going to get the results. I think Terry is going for the players that can run quick and are tricky on the ball but at the end of the day if you dont put the ball in the net you can't win games. I would like to see Morais playing on the right, with Imrie on the left Foran and Rooney up front as he seems to be the most natural forward we have ( even Robbo agree's wit this) so he may not have the same footwork as Morais or Imrie but how many of them do you need to put the ball into the danger area ! If Rooney gets the service he will score goals. I dont know what the rest of you were looking at on Saturday but I did'nt think Rooney had sitters. He just proved that he will get on the end of bits if he is given the chance and I think Foran and him would be good together. Roll on Wed
  6. I wonder what's the story with Rooney not getting a start? Surely he has shown he is the one to score for us when the ball is put in the box. He just hasn't had the same amount of chances as the other strikers. I would have thought with Barrowman being out Rooney would have got the start but no. I have looked at the stats and looking at them he is scoring every 2 games when you break the mins down. Now look at Barrowman and the other strikers - it just doesn't make sense - Hopefully Butcher will start to look at the stats and give him his chance. Great result for I.C.T and am looking forward to Dundee.
  7. Think its wrong of Malky to put the blame on the young players making the mistakes ' there were a lot of older players i saw making them to - and if that was the case why did'nt he change it - but i suppose they have to put the blame on someone . I just wish the team best of luck on Saturday
  8. Dont know if its true but heard a rumour hes gone
  9. I would love to see Rooney start up front with Morais playing behind him - they both seem to have a good football brain ie, where to run and put the ball etc. Somehow I dont think he will be given that chance and I fear he will be off to somewhere else before long. Hopefully Im wrong Anyway I hope the lads go out on Saturday and get a good win
  10. All is not lost we still have a lot of games to play and if we can get some confidence and heart back into the team well thats a start. I know you all want to shout Brewster out on Saturday but do you think its the right time to do it ? Think about the lads going out onto the pitch to play there match - they need to hear support from there fans, so lets get behind the team this Saturday and see if it makes a difference - you can always show your view when the match is finished. I hope Brewster puts a team out with a winning mentality - attack is the best form of defence - so lets go for it this week please Mr.Brewster NO 6 Defenders - just 4 of your best one's - 4 good midfielders and 2 up front or 4 - 3 - 3 COME OF CALEY
  11. I for one am not happy with the results - but we cant blame the Manager all the time - some players are not performing and I ask myself why? The club can't make players stay if they want to go elsewhere - the club do not have the same resource's as the bigger club's and if players are going to be offered better wage's etc then they will go - Im sure if they had some extra cash available they would hold onto Barry - but what about the players who have been offered another contract why do you think they are not signing? My guess is they are waiting to see who else come's in for them and this is also having an effect on the performance every week - so to say its the managers fault all the time is wrong - the players also have to stand up and be counted they get paid to do a job and as far as I can see only some are putting the effort in week after week = where is the pride in putting on a shirt and trying to win We as fans need to support our team no matter what - screaming for someone's head week in is getting us nowhere = in fact all we seemed to be doing is knocking the players confidence more and I think its sad
  12. thought Andy was poor but he is been asked to do a thankless job - if were playing 5 across midfield why dont the wide players put the ball into the box more often - Dundee had the same lineout but look at the amount of balls they put into the box - we did it once and we scored - why is it every time we have to beat the player and then go beat them again just put the ball into the danger zone - 1st time not 2nd or 3rd - the forwards need it 1st time - and the manager cant be blamed for that
  13. While you are all right of course. Think outside the box, why would we not give him a start? Is there a clause in his transfer whereby if he starts so many games in the season he costs us more money? If so Brewster may be saving him for later, goals in the bank so to speak. Or I'm talking absolute 5H1TE. I know which I believe. was speaking to someone who knows - and Rooney is not on any goal bonus etc - if fact he came to I.C.T for less wages then he was on at stoke - just wanted a chance to play and prove he was a goal score r
  14. good to see Rory on the score sheet again - heard a rumour that some other clubs would be interested in Rooney ? hope its only a rumour
  15. I do think Barrowman and Rooney tried to link up the other night - but of the two Rooney seems to be the more natural stricker - he has played in the championship league - he has played against some of the Premiership players when he played for the Ireland under 21 against England and he has scored goals - but still needs someone with a bit more experience with him - at this moment we dont have that person in our team so maybe Brewster should give Barrowman and Rooney more games together.
  16. Was'nt able to go to the game last saturday but delighted with the result - I did'nt think Brewster would change the team but I have to say that the 4-5-1 formation just does not work in this league - the midfield were all over the place each one leaving the tackle or passing to someone else Why vigours was taken off i dont know - he seems to be the only one who can see a run and make a pass - thought Blackie had a much better second half but I was disappointed with Dougie he just did not seem interested. I though Bary was great and when Rooney and Barrowman came on it made a big difference - Rooney just feeds of balls like that in the box and when Barry is on the field he will always deliver first time - maybe not a spectacular goal for the fans but I bet Rooney wont mind. Must say Ross had a very good game = Hasting was terrible - anyway we just have to wait and see what Brewster does on Saturday hopefully he will go out with an attacking formation but somehow I have my doubts
  17. I agree with Wilson been on from the start with Rooney up front - Barry has a great cross of the ball and to be fair Rooney is always willing and trying to get on the end of them - Wilson is also a good footballer i.e he seems to be able to read the game and I have watch Rooney in the games he has played and he is always making the runs but no one else seems to be able to pick them out - so I would like to see Barry on he has a great cross
  18. Nice to see a 4 nil result and Rooney getting 2 - according to the match report was involved in all of the goals - so maybe all is not doom and gloom Come on Brewster give the young lads a go - Vigours Duff Rooney yea yea yea
  19. What a terrible performance - I think the team let down Brewster and the fans. Its not even the scoreline that upsets me but the lack of heart and passion - once they went 2 goals down they just gave up. There is no leader on the pitch - you have to play attacking football against teams and what does Brewster do he puts on another defender. Why did Rooney get dropped after scoring last week - why did Vigours not get on - Duff - they may not have the experience that Brewster talks about but Id rather have a young team that tries than the so called experience one's that dont. Blackie to me was the only one that was interested - why not play Proctor as right full with - the players needed to be changed before half time if Brewster was to have any respect from them or the fans - in fairness he could have taken any 8 players of but he does'nt. I can only hope he learns a lot from that match and is big enough to make his own decisions and start giving Rooney a change with Barrowman or Woods or whoever up front. Give Vigours a go and Duff - Hopefully we will get a good result. Come on Caley
  20. I think some of the players do care - what about the one's that train on there day of - what about the players that turned into do some training after travelling back last night - these did not have to go into training today but some did. Some of the players have a lot of heart - they need to get the rest of the team to have a fighting spirit - it might help the ones who do if the fans get behind them when they need there support most - I know its not nice for your team to be beaten but lets face it if that was Celtic or Rangers playing against Falkirk last night I bet they would have had a penalty and the goal ruled of side so come on and give the team support after all it is your team - I for one thought Brewster team played well last night they just did not get the decision's
  21. I think the problem with Woods and Rooney was- rooney was coming back from an offside position and when Woods went to the ball first Rooney went to go along side him but the Woods seemed to hit the ball of his heel - anyway I think Brewster should have went on and tried to win the game not try and get the point. But what a good goal from Rooney hope thats the start for him
  22. I think we need to win this game on Saturday - and agree we should play Rooney and Barrowman up front - and play the ball to there feet. They were brougth in to play together and I cant remember the last time that happened. In order for them to gel you have to give them games together and stop changing the line up week in and out. Or if Brewster really wants to have a go put 3 up front.
  23. I dont think Brewster will have the bottle to play two up front and go try and attack - i reckon he will play 1 up front and hope he can stop Celtic scoring - if they score I hope he dooe'nt leave it to long to change things Anyway best of luck to the boys tomorrow - up Caley
  24. just watched the highlights of the game - and there is no way the rooney's goal was off side - anyway I thought Brewster should have put on Rooney a lot earlier when the team is losing surely you have to try and get a goal back early on in the game and with Barrowman up front on his own I dont think it worked -
  25. I have managed to see most of the games so far - except for the cup tie's - and I think Brewster is doing just fine. This league is very open and on a good day Caley are capable of beating any team is this league. As a manager Brewster seems to be able to motivate the team / encourage's the lads and well like most other managers sometimes he get the subs right and sometimes he does'nt but I dont think the hassle he gets on this site is warranted. The team is now 4th and in the quarter final of the league cup so give him and your team a break and start supporting them. COME ON CALEY
