Lennon / Juanjo
The footage. It's not the clearest of images, but if you look closely you can see that Juanjo puts his outstretched hand on Lennon. The only possible way he could have stuck the head in him at the same time is if he had a 2 foot long neck. You'll also notice that Juanjo has turned and is walking away when Lennon clutches his face and goes down. Nobody ever seems to mention that it was a punch/push in the back from Lennon that instigated the stand off.

ICT -V- Hearts : Matchday Thread
Thought that was the best overall performance we've had this season. We were holding our own in the first half despite some "tasty" challenges from a Hearts squad that looked more intent on some kind of full contact battle between players instead of playing football. I have to say that after comments from Paulo Sergio in the build up to the match the last couple of days I wasn't surprised because he didn't stop bleating on about us playing a "physical game" (You're only a season behind Sergio). Anyway, credit to our players for standing up and showing they could also play tough (but fair). After some of the thumps we took and with the injury list being what it is then you would maybe have forgiven ICT if they had gone in to their shell a little...but they didn't. Not sold on Davis....was impossible to tell what position he was suppose to be playing and the amount of time and space we were leaving on the right was criminal and also the source of what little threat Hearts showed. He also seemed to lack any urgency and felt like he'd picked himself out a nice 10yard circle and was content jogging around in it waiting for play to come to him. In his defence, when he did get the ball he looked capable of doing something with it...so the jury is out. ICT came flying out of the blocks for the second half and it took Hearts till 20 mins into the half to realise that the battering ram approach to the game just wasn't working for them and they brought Taouil on....and that's when they started to cause us a few problems. Taouil had the measure of Piermayr and must have sold him the same move about 6 or 7 times without reply. I think Hearts had 3 shots on target....and none of them was the goal which felt like a bit of a sucker punch. Whilst it's easy to comment from afar, I was surprised to see Esson rooted to the spot as the ball headed for the post. Was every chance that it could have come off the post and no move was made to cover it if it did. Overall, we worked the ball well today, you can see players are starting to know/expect where to see their team mates and passes and plays are a little more instinctive. We still need to chase and harass a bit more, IMO, as we sometimes gave Hearts too long on the ball and/or allowed then to get into the wide areas of the final third too easily. Things are moving in the right direction, and I reckon that once we can get 11 guys out there who click then we're going to give someone a right hammering.

Extra cash generating ideas for TCS
ICTFC.co.uk will start re-directing to the .com in the next few weeks. In terms of content of the .com...that's under constant review and improvement, as is the SEO (Search Engine Optimisation). These things don't happen overnight, and as with any new site it can take months for sites to be properly indexed. It may be "blowing our own trumpet" but the fact we already have the .com appearing on the front page of google for all the top ICTFC related search terms/phrases in such a short period of time is pretty good going....especially as it is competing (in search engine terms) with the long established .co.uk and CTO.

Extra cash generating ideas for TCS
It doesn't matter if they raise ?50 of ?50,000 they should all be considered. The problem is...who runs these things? There's a limited number of staff at the stadium, and if you need to add staff to get things done then you add costs and many of the fundraising options then become non-viable. However, if you have volunteers willing to give a little time to help then you can get more done without the additional overheads. Bottom line....all the good ideas in the world mean nothing if people aren't willing to help make them happen, which is the point I was trying to make on the Investment Thread.

NEW INVESTMENT IN ICTFC
Just a short answer for now as I'm heading out the door to a meeting. Looking at long term solutions is fine (and vital), but we have to ensure we can make it far enough to see long term plans come to fruition. I'm not for one minute suggesting that bucket collections etc are the answer, they were just examples of the poor fan involvement that exists, but which I do think is essential to both the clubs short and long term survival and growth. If you can't generate enough interest to get the small things done, how on earth do you stir enough interest to get the big things done? FWIW, I'm actually an advocate of a Stadium move...I just don't think that moving the stadium will guarantee larger crowds. If you have a good product (and I mean more than just the football) then people will come. A bad shop in a badp location, is still a bad shop if you move it onto the high street...worse in fact if you end up paying more in rent and rates.

NEW INVESTMENT IN ICTFC
It's not all about asking people to spend money, be that the fans, investors, local business or whatever. That is only a part of the solution....and you would be surprised how few actually do buy a 50/50 ticket or a programme etc. It actually costs money to have the matchday programme because sales are so low...and we have one of the top programme sales levels in Scotland. It costs nothing for someone to pick up a paint brush and do a bit of painting, it costs them nothing to hold a bucket for an hour or whatever. 20 people do a half days painting each and that saves the club £5000 or £6000 that they can then spend elsewhere. 10 people with buckets can collect twice as much as 5 people...15 or 20 would be better, but that seems like a pipe dream right now. Why is it they can get some people to clear the pitch on a matchday morning? My theory is that it's because they can see a clear link between getting the pitch cleared and seeing a game of football. When it comes to other things then that connection is not so apparent, but it's every bit as important. We have a core fanbase of maybe 3000...if even 1% of those gave up a little time every now and then to get more involved then the club would be the better for it. I think it's St Johnstone that have something like 70 or 80 volunteers who regularly assist with community projects and getting things done around the club, so it is happening elsewhere. As I've already said, the club have their part to play as well. They need to be making sure that every penny is used wisely and that fans are confident they are doing that. They also need to be willing to accept that they don't have all the answers and that listening to the fans is vital in being able to understand the issues and formulate solutions. Improvements have taken in place in that, but there's more to be done, but it can only happen if everyone works and pulls together. Moving the stadium is not the magic fix....look at St Mirren, they thought it was the answer to all their problems....only a couple of years down the line they are quickly realising it wasn't. It got them out of the hole they were in at the time, but they've quickly found another hole. IMO, the Stadium will move at some point in the next few years, but the whole "Field of Dreams....Build it and they will come" thing is pure fantasy.

The club are already doing a lot to improve things. Stuff like the use of the stadium for conferencing etc has increased and they are trying to find things to bring more people in on a matchday and also to encourage them to spend a little more when there. However, it must get a little frustrating when the reaction to these things is one of apathy. Some examples.... The recent hospitality offer for the Killie game...lot of complaints from people that they can't afford to do these things, the club give them a chance for a very reasonable £15 and take-up is so low they end up having to cancel it. Legends v Curry Hoose night...complaints that it clashed with a Clach match, moans that the club got other people from other parts of the ICT community involved in the squad and it was "falsely advertised" and only a couple of hundred turn up on the night...and it was a free evening with no need for people to spend a penny. Some painting needed done a couple of summers back...we couldn't muster a dozen people to pick up a brush and help for a couple of hours, so the club ended up having to pay someone to do it. The Supporters Trust put out a newsletter recently looking for assistance this coming Saturday to do a bucket collection....I don't think we've had a single volunteer outside of those on the Trust Board. The club have their bit to do and nobody is saying they have got everything right and don't have more they can do, but Inverness as a city (as well as the fans) could be doing a lot more to pay back ICT for the benefits they have brought to the area. I sometimes wonder if Inverness actually deserves an SPL team.

NEW INVESTMENT IN ICTFC
After re-reading my comments on the accounts I felt it perhaps best that I post a "BTW" pointing out that I am not looking to apportion blame or have a pop at anyone. The situation is was it is and when compared to the accounts of any other Scottish Club then we are still, by far, in the best financial position in the league (with the possible exception of the big two who have far more "pulling power" to get them out of financial stook if needed). If I had to claim motive for my comments, then it would be in highlighting to everyone what the position is in the hope that fans might think about what they can do to help improve things because when push comes to shove, we are all in this together and going around with our heads stuck up our butts thinking everything is fine and dandy does nobody any good.

NEW INVESTMENT IN ICTFC
Sorry Alex, but that is simply not true and a bit of a slur on Flybe, who remained, and still remain, large supporters and contributors to ICT. Flybe, like many other companies, were going through financial challenges and had to cut back on certain things. They continued, and I believe have just renewed the agreement too, sponsor the Youth and Community Development part of the club. In many respects it might have been easier for them to justify the spending, based on the exposure received, on sponsoring the First Team. I would say it's more to their credit that they instead chose to continue doing what they could in an area of the club where it would have been far harder to find a new sponsor.

NEW INVESTMENT IN ICTFC
Yngwie....Possibly and maybe even likely, but that money should be considered income (and recorded accordingly) and not "debt"....unless it was overdue. Either way, we still have a circa 300k "hole" which would have been far larger (£500k+) if not for the sale of the Social Club. If we'd turned a profit this year, then you could argue that provided we remain in the SPL then we could claw that position back, but since we just had a year in the SPL and recorded a loss (a bigger one than the "operational loss" figure suggests) and we have no assets left to sell to plug the gap in future, how do we continue? Investment? Based on the accounts just issued we need an additional £500k just to break even...and that doesn't allow for what was spent on pitch repairs during the summer. The money invested by the Board/Shareholders recently would not have all gone into plugging that gap as Butcher needed to make additional signings that hadn't been budgeted for. That's why my opinion has changed. Up until those accounts came out I didn't think we needed much to help get us back on track and turn things around....I clearly got that wrong, and by a large margin. As I said, a 6 figure investment is, IMO, no longer enough to do anything other than tide us over for a little longer. We have no family silver left to sell and investors aren't going to keep throwing money in to a black hole....not unless we get really lucky. Alex....Long term investment would be many millions without large scale changes to improve the underlying business. [info='B.T.W.']This is not intended to apportion blame or have a pop at anyone. The situation is was it is and when compared to the accounts of any other Scottish Club then we are still, by far, in the best financial position in the league. NEW INVESTMENT IN ICTFC
There's actually over ?1 Million of Debt sitting on those accounts... ?936,310 - Creditors due within 1 year ?250,000 - Creditors due after more than 1 year That is somewhat offset by the ?632,874 owed to us....but the fact that the Debtors figure has increased by around ?500,000 in 12 months is a little worrying. With so little in the bank it effectively means that the club is/has been operating hand to mouth and relying on that money coming in to meet the requirements of the cash going out (i.e we have/had potential for major cash flow issues). The fact we have more due to go out than we have to come in means that without increased income (and the new investment will help a bit) then that will quickly catch up on us. Our "Operating Loss" may be far lower than last season, but our financial position is much, much worse and we no longer have any assets left to sell to see us through the present predicament, let alone any future predicament. Without investment, and I now believe 6 figures is no more than a sticky plaster on a gaping wound, we are sunk. [info='B.T.W.']This is not intended to apportion blame or have a pop at anyone. The situation is was it is and when compared to the accounts of any other Scottish Club then we are still, by far, in the best financial position in the league. Fan cleared of Lennon assault !
So Lennon and several other high profile Celtic supporters are sent bullets and put in fear of their lives by death threats that beyond any reasonable doubt come from supporters of another football club, and then Lennon himself is subject to a disgraceful show of hatred at Tynecastle, and yet the "real danger" in the whole thing comes from those nasty "Celtic fans," who to my knowledge have not retaliated to the very real anti-Celtic (and no doubt anti-Catholic) intimidation that characterised last season's Scottish football. This whole episode was a disgrace to Scottish football and the whole nation. Even the Sunday Post condemned it at the weekend! The real issue here and probably the "real danger" lies in the blind denial that there are sectarian issues at play in all of this, and in the implicit idea that somehow Lennon, Celtic, and their fans deserve it, that "they bring it on themselves." After all, they are not "the people". No...I never said the real danger "in all this", I said the real danger "now"...i.e. following on from what's happened in court. Certain people see the outcome as an injustice and unfortunately...much the same as those who have made threats, sent bullets etc...don't have two brain cells to rub together and will doubtless feel justified in taking the opportunity, should it present itself, to "right the wrong" by some means or other. That takes nothing away from the seriousness of the incident that occurred at Tynecastle...which is the subject being discussed here, not everything else that happened. I don't deny there's an issue with sectarianism in this country, I just don't buy into the "every and all problems are related to sectarianism" line that always gets thrown out there. The structure of your argument only serves to prove that as you seem unwilling or unable to separate the attack at Tynecastle from other things that have gone on and just want to lump it all together and stick it in that handy pigeon-hole. Until we accept, identify and deal with all the different issues that exist then we'll only see more and more cases like this where we're so blinkered by "sectarianism" that no other reason can possibly exist and people will continue to escape proper punishment on technicalities. Authority needs to be firm, but it also needs to be fair, honest and proportionate on a case by case basis. Just because others who have attacked (verbally or otherwise) Lennon may have sectarian motives, does not mean everyone who attacks or dislikes him have those same motives. What's more, just because Lennon/Celtic are the victim in this instance does not mean they are above reproach for the part they have played in fuelling the problems over the years.
