Terry Pre-Xmas Interview
The second person to lead with a criticism this evening....maybe the fans who give up their free time (and work late into the evening) to bring everyone these things just shouldn't bother!!!

Keeper v pitch invader
This is how I see it. The only thing going through the keepers head in that situation is "not giving this guy a chance to get at me", and whilst that might appear a little excessive to some, it's better that than put himself and others on the pitch at risk by standing off and giving the attacker any chance at getting back to his feet. We don't know how much the referee saw or if he knew how it kicked off. If he didn't see the initial attack by the fan then he can only base his decision on what he saw...and that was the goalkeeper booting the fan. He has no option but to issue a red card under those circumstances. Should the Coach have pulled the team off the park? IMO, Yes, but it's a tough one...and it risks setting a bad precedent if it is ignored. By allowing it to go "unpunished" you then raise the question of "when is it acceptable" and risk any manager pulling his team off the park if/when he believes a decision has gone against his team. On the basis of their being a risk to the players then yeah, all for it, but not sure that risk existed on this occasion.

Standing
I don't think anyone really knows exactly what the full implications of the announcement are. A decision has been made to loosen the rules to allow it to be looked at, but not much more than that has been agreed/decided. From what I can gather, the SPL would accept any trial involving the kind of seats shown in the article in the image (subject to police and local authority agreement). Any other proposals would need to go the SPL for consideration on a case by case basis...and again be subject to police and local authority approval.

Standing
I have an official club statement that is in the process of being put up on the official website. It provides a bit more reality in terms of what should or should not be expected from what came from the SPL meeting.

Standing
I very much doubt clubs would be looking to charge less....even if they did create terracing areas....certainly not to begin with. All they would be doing is voluntarily giving up revenue as people moved from seated areas to cheaper areas. What might be an idea for piloting is giving people the option to exchange their season ticket match stub for a terracing stub on a game by game basis....allowing them to use or revert back to their old seat at any point without having to risk giving it up. With time you would like to think that if standing areas were bring people back through the turnstiles then it would be reflected in the price...but won't hold my breath on that one.

Matchday Thread: Rangers -V- ICT
Nah...it was Esson-esque

Where do you think ICT sits?
The way things are with Scottish Football at the moment we are a bottom 10 team....along with everyone else outside the OF. You could probably include half of Div 1 in that group as well. Whilst I would like to think we should be finishing half way up that list (of 10) most seasons, there's simply not enough stability within the game to make any kind of logical analysis of where we could or should be at any given time or in any given season.

Online Tickets Problem
Yes, the club do post the tickets themselves and I would imagine that if you ordered tickets over the weekend then there's a chance the club would hold them instead of posting, what with it being xmas week and the chances of them being held up. Would check to make sure though. 01463 227451 is the number for the shop 01463 222880 is reception.

Foran's best game
Foran isn't 100% fit....don't think there's much debate on that. I've been saying since the start of the season that if we need to play him then it should be in a role that is less demanding in terms of the amount of running he is expected to do. That's what was done yesterday and we were the better (as a team) for it, IMO.

Matchday Thread: Rangers -V- ICT
Possibly no BBC Interview as they are banned from going into Press Conferences and Pitch Side, which means Butcher would have had to have done interview in the Press Area. Hopefully MFR had someone on the case though, so keep an eye out on the ICT Radio and we'll get the audio up if done andwhen it gets to us.

Think I might be right in saying that the concession/child price is much lower than what it has been in the past so maybe it's just a promotion or something.

Disgraceful
If anyone has Johndo's number can they give him a call and tell him that Laurence has gained access to his account!!!

Hogg out for season?
And perhaps if some people stopped playing the blame game (and I don't just mean fans) and concentrated more on what can be done to change/improve things instead of looking to the past then we might start getting somewhere.
-
Hogg out for season?
Would be very unlucky if he was out for rest of the season. It was a straight knock with no twisting or stretching of the knee so you would hope that the worst would be some heavy bruising.

Disgraceful
You can only distribute effectively when you have players to distribute the ball too. Twice this afternoon Golobart, whilst under pressure, played a ball forward to Lee Cox who missed it because he had his feckin back to the ball!!!!

ICT -V- Dundee Utd : Matchday Thread
First time this season that I have left a game feeling angry and disappointed. We owned Dundee Utd in the first half. Not looked at any of the stats yet, but I would say we had about 70% of the possession. Even after losing Hogg we seemed to reshape quite quickly and maintain control of the game. Came out all guns blazing in the second half and got a second goal....that's when it all went wrong. The team obviously thought it was a case of "job done" and switched off. Utd pulled a goal back, panic set in and we tried to put everyone behind the ball which only resulted in us falling all over each other. Utd got the second goal and the heads went down...from there on in we were never going to win the game. Foran resorted to type and it became everyone elses fault bar his. As captain he should be trying to rally the team, not kick them while they are down. I wasn't in the Main Stand today, but it looked like even Butcher was more interested in having a pop at the fans behind him than sorting out what was happening on the pitch. Dundee Utd will travel back down the road thinking all their Christmases have come at once after being gifted 3 points in such a manner.

Administration Question
Going in to administration should mean immediate relegation. Administration shows that the club has been operating outwith it's means in order to maintain league status/position and that is cheating....pure and simple.

Snow Clearing
Just had a call from the club asking if I could put up an appeal on here for people to help clear snow. Pitch is in good condition and game not in doubt, they just need to get the snow off. If you are able to assist then head down to the stadium asap. Thanks.
