I don't think Rooney is doing anything wrong....far from it. However, we have a situation where TB seems to have found a couple of players who seem to be working well together at the front and doing the job he is looking for them to do. The more Rooney comes off the bench and scores/performs well, the harder it becomes for TB to leave him on the bench and the more likely he is to get his chance at the slightest sniff that Odhiambo and/or Imrie take the foot off the gas. So long as TB manages that hunger and gives fair chance when it presents itself then it can only benefit the team. Rooney isn't the only one, there's players in just about every position who have someone on the sidelines ready to snatch their place if they slip up......a far cry from the "favourites" situation which seemed to operate with Brewster and where players who did have poor performances weren't being sidelined. I may be getting ahead of myself a little as we're yet to see a player have a poor performance since TB arrived so we don't know for certain if it's any different, but I suspect it will be.....and I suspect the players know it will be different, hence the increased work rate and fight to maintain their starting place. Long may that continue.

Not strictly true.....a club official apparently gave the story to a reporter in the Heathmount and then, when the news broke, had to do a lot of back pedalling because the player had never been informed.

OK, so John is an ex-manager, but that doesn't exclude him from being a fan and having thoughts and opinions just like any of the rest of us and if he wishes to share those with other fans then he's more than welcome to do so. At least he has the the decency to be up front and honest about it and not hide behind a pseudo name.

Any 2 ticket stubs from the first 3 of those games gets you in free to the Killie game on 14th March (or something along those lines) would be a good idea.

If we can draw more than we lose against the "top" teams and win more than we draw/lose against the "lower" teams then we should be in (comparatively) decent shape come the split and that's what I'm looking towards right now. You could argue that a wee extra break today and it would have been 3 points, but not so long ago we'd have been looking for a good few breaks to even salvage a draw so I'm delighted with todays result, especially looking at United as currently being one of the "top" teams.

We had an incident today where someone tried to pose as John Robertson with the username "WeeRobbo" and this person has now found that their account has been deleted. John has been informed and it has been clarified that the only username you will see him posting under is "JohnRobertson" (or sally if he forgets to log off his other half before coming on ). John has said he'll try and pop his head in at some point to answer any questions and have a chat with people.

You've got it the wrong way round Hawkeye. Let's say (purely as an example) he thought he was due 250,000 Euros. If that had been paid 8 months ago it would have cost the club somewhere in the region of ?200,000. As it stands, if the club were forced to pay, it would cost them in the region of ?250,000. The weaker the pound gets the more it's going to cost (if the club have to pay).

That wouldn't involved him raising a case against the club. I believe this is in connection with Marius trying to recover money he believes the club are still due him.

last 2 games hes being ok, i wouldnt say hes a terrible player. he might be better in a lower league than the SPL Thats because he's no longer in Brewster's favourite position :thumb04: errr central defence Wow - the same Brewster backing person who used to shout "abuse" is at the double entendre ??!!!! "Mind Games" - There's no way snow on the park should prevent any match going ahead (as it can be cleared), and they're best leaving it on till the last minute as it will help prevent frost getting to the pitch.

During the whole "Brewster Must Go" period I constantly made the point that the time to judge the players would be when we had a decent Manager in place and players were being correctly utilised etc. For that reason I'm willing to cut him, and others, a bit of slack and see how they get on now if given the chance.

I'm with Birdog....let Butcher and the squad worry about keeping feet on the ground and doing the business and the fans can get back to actually getting a bit upbeat and excited about the football again.

"Middle of the Road" draw and one we're more than capable of winning. Bring it on.

I'd be a bit worried if I thought Butcher was trying to impress his style upon the players. That's what Brewster was trying to do and look where it got us!!! Butcher is now playing a system/style which seems to better fit the players, and that's what's important.
