  1. Get the feeling that Butcher will be tearing a few players a new one at HT.
  2. Don't be so lazy Charles....you know just as well as I do where you can get that information (aside from it being well documented elsewhere on these forums).
  3. I was not seeking to make any value judgement in what I wrote. The purpose was merely to give a factual account of Tullochs' financial involvement in ICT since the initial link was made. The problem is Charles....you've not given a "factual account"....far from it. Inverness Caledonian Thistle Trust Ltd (The Charitable Trust) does not hold, and as far as I can ascertain has never owned, the lease and/or properties associated with Tulloch Caledonian Stadium and Inverness Thistle & Caledonian FC Ltd. If you want to furnish us with evidence to the contrary then I'll happily take a look at it.
  4. JJB are reluctant to put names and numbers on to shirts they don't stock just in case they screw it up and can't replace them. I know some people have managed to get them done, but I think that's just being fortunate enough to get a member of staff who perhaps isn't aware of the policy.
  5. Don't even go down the "where are all the volunteers" road Alex. If ICT hadn't spent so long ignoring and p*ssing off the people who were willing and able to do things for the club in the past then they might find a few more willing participants for various things these days. As regards the "must be a slow news week comments", the atmosphere at TCS isn't anything near what it should be which makes the matchday experience a pretty dire affair (footballing aspect aside). Like it or not, this does turn people off from going to games and it's subject that has been raised with the club on several occasions. A piper and a penalty shoot out at half time does not equate to a "great matchday experience". The announcer is the person best placed to work/lift the crowd and get them a little more upbeat, and we can all sit and say "what's the point", but until they actually try and give it a go then you can't say it wouldn't work. I'd absolutely love to be given a crack at doing the stadium announcing, but I suspect that as much as I might get the crowd a little more fired up, the reserved nature of certain people at the club who think we should all be sitting quietly watching the football might not see me last very long. The announcer is likely (or should be) the first person we hear when arriving at the stadium and the last we hear when leaving. They can be influential in setting the tone before the game and can be the last thing we remember when leaving.....first impressions, last impressions.....and not a job that should be underestimated or filled by someone who just so happens to be kicking about. I don't doubt that someone like Jud offered assistance with best intentions, but best intentions are no substitute for knowledge and experience.
  6. Our PA System is far from being the best, but it is much better than it once was. With regards the announcer...I'm not going to criticise individuals, but the club need to realise that if they want to improve the matchday experience then the guy/girl with the mic is as (if not more) important to setting the mood/tone in the ground as anyone else and you need someone who can work the crowd.

We have been asked to post the following to bring your attention to the action being taken by the Pars Supporters Trust. As this has the potential to impact on ICT then we have decided that it is worthy of inclusion in this part of the forum.

League attendances are boosted by the inclusion of non-attending season ticket holders and cup games are historically thought to be under counted....the reality in terms of actual bums on seats is (as with many things) likely to be somewhere in the middle.
  9. ***VOTING IS FOR PEOPLE AT THE MATCH ONLY*** Vote for your top 3 players in the SPL match versus KILMARNOCK Please make sure you vote for 3 separate players. If you make an error, let us know so we can fix it. PLEASE ONLY VOTE IF YOU WERE AT THE GAME Anyone caught trying to cheat the system WILL be banned from voting in polls...this is your only warning.
  10. Listening on radio from Edinburgh, missed first goal but got second. Sounds like we're handling conditions best.
  11. As has been said, we have minimal control over the precise ads offered via google ads and only block them on a general level....so we could block "football" or "sport", but nothing as specific as certain teams. There's also the fact that the what you are seeing is likely Ebay generated adverts, so we'd then have to go in and block those kinds of ads also.....before too long we're not being served adverts and they're not contributing to the running of the site. For those who don't like the adverts being shown (or having adverts in general), we do offer a subscription option. If you go into your profile page and scroll down the menu on the left you will see a "purchase paid subscriptions" option. One of the packages available is "Sponsor" which costs ?12 a year. If you sign up for that then you will be able to view the forums with no adverts, as well as a couple of other small benefits, whilst continuing to contribute. Alternatively, if you wish to make a contribution of some other amount (larger or smaller) then we have a Donate button on the bottom left of each page. When someone makes a donation we work out the equivalent on a pro rata rate for the Sponsor Subscription and remove adverts for their account for a comparable period - i.e. if you donated ?5 you would get ads blocked from your account for 5 months.
  12. For me, a "successful" season is one which keeps us in the SPL....beyond that we just head into varying degrees of success.

Cheers Scotty...I should have thought to look there for details, but not long in the door and brain not yet in gear.

Not sure if we still do cash gates or if you have to purchase ticket at the ticket window before entering....either way, you shouldn't have any trouble getting in tomorrow as I doubt we'll sell-out.

I don't think the board deserve any credit for sacking Brewster.....credit/praise should be reserved for people who go above and beyond, those who do a good job or perfrom exceptionally at a task. When was the last time a customer/client gave you credit for finishing a job late and leaving the place in a mess?

  18. + VAT Happy Birthday LG
  19. Wanderer, that idea would be superb...if only we had the rights to the picture
  20. I'll happily take a duffer of a free-kick in return for every one he scores.
  21. Maybe they could enter a B Team into the English league setup, build it up through the leagues and when they make the premiership the could disband here and feck off south for good. Seriously though, I'm not for allowing B Teams to enter the league setup as it creates far too many issues. Not least the fact that an SPL reserves squad would/should be comparable to a 1st Division team, so having a team with players of that kind of calibre playing in 3rd division is going to give them a walkover most seasons. That just makes a mockery of the league setup IMO. If some clubs want to persist with regular "reserve" games then they can facilitate that need with closed door friendlies with other clubs as it is, there's no need for them to have separate teams participating in the league setup.
  22. Straight red for violent conduct can be anything between 1 and 3 matches depending on the nature of the incident....I think.
  23. CaleyD replied to a post in a topic in Caley Thistle
Unless they increase the number of teams in the top tier to 16 then I'm afraid it doesn't matter what set-up they have or what they call it. People are getting bored of playing the same teams 3 or 4 times a season (more when they meet in the cup) and I'd rather they spent the time and effort expanding the current SPL than faffing about with a second tier SPL. Unfortunately the introduction of an SPL2 for next season (although unlikely IMO) might just be the get out of jail card our board need and I can't see them having any objection.
  24. Its reassuring to see the mods take one of the more disturbing traits of Scottish football so seriously I take it, next time someone like BNP comes on here spouting their filth, it will be ok Some people really need to get over this idea that just because someone is a moderator then they should prescribe to a specific line of thinking. Moderators are a trusted/respected group of individuals empowered with a set of tools that allows them to maintain order on the forums and assist other users with any problems or issues that might arise.....nowhere does it say, nor are they expected, to set aside their own personal thoughts and views when posting and contributing to discussion.
  25. I've gone and done a bit of homework on the guy and it looks like there's the potential for the club to tap into some invaluable expertise....both directly and indirectly through Mr Finlayson's company. Very surprised the club didn't make more of the consultancy side of FWB when bigging Mr Finlayson up in the news release as that's where he could bring real value to ICT.....given the opportunity.
