  1. You disappoint me IHE, I actually thought you understood the complexities of the Highland Curse. I'll let you buy me a drink as I explain it to you on Saturday.

Wanderer, did you read my whole post or just the last line? Always took you as a fairly intelligent person who might actually stop to read something in full before pointing and laughing!!!
  3. People have been shot for lesser suggestions :33:
  4. Setting all sentiment aside........ McAllister would go out on loan, partly for his own good and partly because Brew may not play next season and their is a chance Niculae could be sold on and we would then be looking to bring in a player again. If McAllister can pull himself together then it could save us a fee McBain would have to go as I think we have better options on that side of the pitch and attempts to convert him into a left back aren't looking to be going too smoothly (early I know, but we only have 3 days left in the window). If Zander doesn't feature in any immediate plans then he has to be allowed to go on loan to keep him sharp. But only to another SPL, 1st Div or English team as anything else would be below the lad IMO. We have to be able to get him back in January of this does happen. We simply can't afford to let anyone of the regular back 4 go as we have little cover there as it is. Other than that I would be waiting till the January window to see how everyone else shapes up under Brewsters management and the style of game he opts for. Unless any players have requested a desire to move in this window, then I can't realistically see us letting anyone leave on a permanent basis.
  5. What like are the roads and have you checked to see if the ferry is running? :driving01:
  6. If his transfer papers aren't done and dusted it could all be incidental anyway. Also, if Brew turns out for us next week and sticks a goal past Hibs, will he be the first player to play for 2 different clubs at the same away stadium in two consecutive weeks and score? And more importantly...how much would that piss of the Hibs fans :015:

Digging through some of my old pictures I found these that might give us all a bit of a smile if nothing else. Asda be Brew License to Thrill What's Up Doc

I echo what Scotty has said word for word. To describe this last week as a roller coaster of emotion is to put it mildly. I was angry at the way many things have been done since last Saturday, and although not much has changed in my opinions, it is time to set them aside for now. There is a time and a place for other things to be dealt with but above all else we cannot let our support of the team dwindle or be tainted by events of this last week...that is where our power as fans truly lies.
  9. Tough one to call. He's got today and tomorrow to train/work with the team and make a decision. If there's anyone who has the skill, ability and experience to read the subtleties of Niculaes game then it is Brewster, but 2 men do not make a team and we have problems all over the park just now. In reality we should be able to put any 11 out there against Arbroath and win this game, but cups do not work like that. With the mood of the fans right now he's going to be damned if he plays and damned if he doesn't - especially if things don't go well.

Charlie Christie was "Head Coach" Craig Brewster is "Manager" :024:
  12. Not sure my sanity can take much more :017:
  13. Yeah - as Scotty said elsewhere - kept in the dark and fed on chit :015:
  14. We need a good mushroom song for next Saturday.
  15. The consumption/carriage of alcohol on any minibus/bus/coach traveling to a football match is illegal.
  16. It's all part of the plan. Our back 4 have been so bad that we're going to start playing 2 lines of 5 :tic01:
  17. Can you take the personal squabbles to PM or open up a handbags thread on Anything Goes gents...ty.
  18. Brewster already knows who he wants in and who we will let go - he's had the last 7 months to think about it :004:
  19. I know the area pretty well so should be able to find a parking spot easy enough and as we'll be getting there sharpish then it shouldn't be too bad finding somewhere. In around Brunswick Rd/Elgin St/Ter is normally where I head for.

I hope that this appointment works for us too, but you have to accept that if it does then other people at larger clubs with more money are going to be coming in offering packages that we simply cannot compete with. That's not speculation, that is fact. And it doesn't matter if your Craig Brewster, Walter Smith, or Alex Ferguson, although the further up the pay scale you go the fewer teams there are above you that can afford to poach your manager and/or players. The only way other clubs aren't going to be coming in and making such offers is if the manager/players aren't performing. If the manager/players aren't performing then we aren't going to be making any progress and they will be shown the door. Their is no logic to what you are trying to say and it is hinged purely on the fantasy that we could somehow have a successful manager that wouldn't move on for a larger pay packet. Pele did, Robbo did and Brewster has once already. The "he is less likely to jump ship again" idea is utter poppycock and I would not expect him to stay if he was being offered more elsewhere (I would however expect him to be a man of his word and not announce one day he is staying and play the loyalty card only to resign 48 hours later). I'd far rather have 10 successful managers in 10 years than 1 mediocre one for the same length of time. That is the point I ma trying to make.
  21. We will be leaving early enough to catch the pub before the match (exact time to be confirmed) and the cost will be no more than ?10 The bus is booked so all I need are enough bums to fill up the remaining seats. Will be first come first served basis and anyone booking a seat and not turning up will be hunted down and sat upon :001:

I thought you said we should all be getting behind the team :023: :016: :016: :016:
  23. If Brown hadn't have moved on to allow Fraser his chance then he would have left ICT in the summer. I do think we need a more experienced backup, but I haven't seen anything yet that justifies dropping Fraser from the starting line up every week.

Which clubs would have the funds to lure away the likes of Ferguson and Wenger and offer them a better wage at a bigger club? Your comparison is nonsense IMO. Very good point, why don't you ask the Board who are the ones who seem to have changed the formula on this occasion.

This "off at the first opportunity" line that keeps getting trotted out does my head in. The only managers that are going to attract interest from anyone else are successful ones, so if you follow through on the logic of the statement then we should be hiring the worst possible candidates to make sure that they stay here for a long time. What would you rather do.... - share in the success of a good manager for a shorter period of time and progress as a club or - struggle with a rubbish/mediocre manager who isn't going anywhere and not progress as a club If Brewster has been appointed on the basis that he'll not end up going elsewhere in 12 to 18 months then it's even scarier than the thought of him being hired because he was a mate of the Director of Football. I want the best Managers and Players we can afford to be at this club and I want them to be as successful as they possibly can be. If that means we have a large turnover of players and managers then so be it, so long as the team as a whole progresses and we keep moving up the table.
