  1. I think some attitudes at the club might have moved on a bit since the days of the BENI and although I have my doubts as to them offering financial assistance I think that if any supporters group went to them and proved they were well organised and had a clear proposal/request for how the club could assist with things like storing of drums or placement of banners/flags on matchdays then they would possibly be more accommodating than they have been in the past. The BENI of old weren't all that well organised and they were more than a little guilty of going to the club with false promises which I think lead to the opinion that they were nothing more than a group of "silly wee boys" who were wasting the clubs time. I know that fans are mostly in it for a laugh and improving atmosphere on matchdays, but you have to realise that ICT is a business and everything is (or should be) done to a plan. They need to know what to expect, especially when your talking about large flags/banners so as they can advise/plan accordingly. It's all fair and well buying a 20 foot flag, but have you thought about where your going to put it? Some way of hanging it from the roof at the back of the stand would probably be most suitable, but these things need to be sorted in advance and as with other similar groups elsewhere they would likely expect you to be at the stadium early enough to do it so as not to be causing a disruption when other fans arrive. Before racing out and buying a flag/banner why not check with the club as to what's acceptable/safe....perhaps the Supporters Trust could assist on this front. The last thing you want is to spend a few hundred notes on something only to find that some Healthy and Safety issue prevents you from ever being able to use it properly. In short, get yourself organised, get some idea of number of people involved, what you want to do, when you want to do it and ask the club before you dive in and do anything instead of making assumptions and demands. It may all sound like BS Politicis but it will save you problems further down the line.
  2. As I'm probably one step away from a visit from a hitman I'll refrain from digging myself any deeper :015:
  3. The Fans who say TNEE......
  4. Lose the "Forza" (which is naff anyway IMO) and you have the B.E.N.I reincarnated. You know it makes sense :004:
  5. Animals, I think you are trying to exaggerate things slightly, If I didn't like the people I was sitting amongst at every home game then I too would move. Theres a difference between sitting in amongst home fans and supporting the opposite team and having lunch and a few drinks and watching the match in the seats ALLOCATED BY THE CLUB But hey everyones entitled to an opinion. How would you describe people who make hand gestures towards others and dish out verbal abuse and threats of violence?
  6. 12th Man, did you actually think about that before you posted it? Your saying that because someone is in a more "expensive" seat then they should be allowed to behave like animals and those nearby who don't like it should move - I know that money talks, but surely your not suggesting that because someone has been privileged enough to get a hospitality seat that they should not be subject to the same rules and regulations as everyone else?
  7. Thankfully the Social Club is a separate entity form the club as they were at one point juggling a debt of around ?250,000 and proving even less viable than the club. In fact, the debt of the Social Club may have been part of the reason it was hived off as a separate entity and I'm not certain that things have improved any. As disappointing as it is to see them unable to balance the books I do think they are an important part of Inverness and not just Merkinch and for that reason alone it would not upset me in the slightest to see public money being used to sustain their existence. It would also not upset me in the slightest if we were to see them absorbed into the ICT setup or even the Highland Football Academy setup with us absorbing the cost of the conversion to an all weather surface which could be used for training, if not by the first team squad, then certainly by some of the younger groups.
  8. The situation with Niculae was always going to effect some players differently than others, but it was also going to give certain players an "excuse" when the reality is that their grievances lie elsewhere. Duncan has been a totally different player from day one this season, snipping at referees and team mates at every given opportunity, even in pre-season. Something has been eating at him since before Niculae was signed. Tokely made public comments when Brewster departed for Dundee Utd that he hadn't been happy with training when he was here and that he was "enjoying" things better with Christie at the helm. Apart from the fact that he's paid to work and not to "enjoy" himself I imagine any issue he may have are more connected to Brewsters return than Niculaes wages. In fact, I am fairly certain of that. Black has been going through a bit of a transition as a player/person on the park and that can't have been easy for him, but I think the whole "Niculae v Black" conspiracy about them not getting on is a load of horlicks as they all seem to get along fine outside of training and matchdays just fine. His day will come whereby bigger teams will come knocking at the door for him, but he is also rated by Brewster and is probably one of the players who has earned themselves the right to ask for a pay increase, should he not be offered one anyway. As I said at the start....the Niculae wage issue is an easy bolt-on for some of these players in the search for a sympathetic ear. We've no doubt all worked in jobs at some point where some people were paid more than others for doing similar roles. In that situation you can do one of two things....spend your time moaning about it and p!ss your bosses off, or you can knuckle down, prove you are just as capable and earn your pay increase. As much as I like Duncan and think he deserves more credit than he gets, he's done nothing to suggest he is worth anything near the wages that Niculae is on. I don't doubt he is worthy of a pay increase, but for him to even mention his "worth" in the same sentence as Niculae is bordering on laughable....the guy is in need of a bit of a reality check. The club has landed itself in a situation whereby we have more players than is healthy with contracts due to expire in the summer and lots of contract negotiations will be in the pipeline. They have nobody to blame but themselves for getting in to such a situation and they can't blame the players for using all that is available to them when it comes to negotiating the best deal. The club made a rod for it's own back with the signing of Niculae and last summer they should have probably spent more time negotiating contracts with existing players instead of chasing him, and for that some players may feel rightfully upset. However, the players also have to realise that ICT is not a club that has ever allowed itself to be held to ransom and they WILL let players go rather than pay more than they think they are worth/they can afford....and that's as it should be. As a club we are young and possibly still a little wet behind the ears when it comes to playing these games at this level, and no doubt lessons are still being learned...the same probably goes for a lot of our long standing players. I just hope when situations such as this arise that we don't land up regretting having never appointed more experienced decision makers on the footballing side of the club.
  9. Players are only worth what someone is willing to pay. Just because Morton are demanding 250k does not mean they will get it.
  10. I don't want to see it happen either, but it will one day unless the club/police/stewards move to improve things and start acknowledging and acting on complaints they receive instead of shrugging them off with BS answers or making those who complain feel like they are the troublemakers. That's complete whataboutery and has nothing to do with what happens in the stadium which is what people on here are complaining about. I can assure you that the SPL are far from happy about the stewarding and policing at ICT....did you not see all the stuff in the newspapers etc following our game against Rangers at the start of the season? The Club AND Northern Constabulary were torn a new ersehole over their handling of the Rangers Fans...or to be more precise, the lack of handling.
  11. I think it's a bit of both and I think it has as much to do with money as it does with the evolved attitude of many players. Money in the game up here is so tight right now that you really have to be something special to earn the big wages. This drives players to be at their best in the hope of landing themselves such a move and it focuses managers into building a proper team instead of just a group of talented ego's who turn up on match days to collect a pay cheque they can barely afford to be giving them. You also have the increased popularity of "Win bonuses" which now make up the bulk of a players annual wage at the smaller clubs which drives them on to perform. I think Scottish Football has been going through a transitional face for the last 4 or 5 years and I also believe it is one that will be for the better in the long term. I'll go out on a limb and predict that we will have a non-of league champion within the next 5 seasons.
  12. I had noticed that Kopaberg seems to be taking off as a bit of a "Trendy" drink....about time all you youngsters caught up, I've been drinking the stuff for years. When I first started drinking it the only place you could buy it was the Deli Shop at IKEA. :015:
  13. You may joke Clacher, but I always thought that BENI was a pretty class name and I think it should be resurrected :001:
  14. One word.....Money!!! Motherwell (or any club for that matter) will do nothing to risk putting people off and making alternative plans for the day until they absolutely have too.
  15. You don't have to cause an actual Breach of the Peace to find yourself being arrested. You simply have to perform an act which could lead to a Breach of the Peace and whether people's attitudes to away fans in the home end is right or wrong, the very presence of these people could lead to such an incident and it gives the police the power to arrest and remove. Standing up is not against the law, sitting in the wrong seat is not against the law.....yet we have witnessed people being removed from the stadium by police because some people have refused to adhere to these regulations. These people were removed because they were considered to be a threat to a persons safety or their actions were threatening to cause a breach of the peace. The Police are their to fulfil a role and as people have said above, they turned a blind eye to incidents which posed a threat to crowd safety and had the potential to result in a Breach of the Peace. It's bad enough that nothing was done when people complained, but some officers refused to even acknowledge the threat. To date the Police/Stewards have been pretty lucky as nothing has kicked off, but if they keep on refusing to act then it's only a matter of time before people get so peeved that they will start taking matters in to their own hands......that may not be what you wanted to hear, but that is life!!! And one other thing. It's not taxpayers money that is paying for the police at matches, the cost is met in full by the club. So your argument about wasting resources/taxpayers money doesn't really hold water. Just to finish off, I think the policing/stewarding at TCS has, on the whole, improved leaps and bounds since the end of last season/start of this season...and credit has to be given for that. Their was a few issues at the last home match v Celtic and these were also dealt with in an appropriate manner and away fans in the home end who made themselves known were removed by police and/or stewards. All they needed to do was follow the same routine last weekend, but for whatever reason they chose not to.
  16. Whether you agree with it or not, the word "Ultras" does create a negative image in the heads of some people. Why cripple yourself with such a tag when there's really no need? Stop looking outside for a name and look to the club, it's surroundings and it's fans and come up with something unique.
  17. Don't thing many of these lads are old enough to drink (legally).
  18. It's been a while since I had that Scarf at a match.
  19. A few flag images I've cobbled together for various people/things over the years. [attach=1]

  21. :016: It's ok, I luv her really. On the first part your not paying my "wages"...unless your losing heavily at poker just now and I'm picking up some of that. :015: And I never said you weren't a real fan.....am not so brave :029: And don't tell anyone, but I still "scrounge" freebie tickets. :004:
  22. It's so bad I'm going to stop paying my TV License until these people are sacked and I'm no longer contributing to their wages :008:
  23. The police were very much in the wrong to "leave them be". They are paid by the club to come in and act as part of the security which is there to ensure fan safety. Part of the rules and guidelines laid down for that is that we have segregation which means opposition fans should be removed from either end if they become aware of them. Sad fact of life is that people cannot always be relied upon to behave in a civil manner at events such as football which is why segregation was introduced. It is not up to the SPL, ICT, The Stewarding Company, the Police or any individual to take it upon themselves to ignore the law/legislation on such matters. And in failing to take action they have, in effect, ignored a situation which could potentially lead to a breach of the peace or worse. You can argue that fans shouldn't be in the area designated to them, you can argue that others shouldn't make an issue of it or turn a blind eye and ignore it....but at the end of the day "IF" something had kicked off and people were injured or whatever, then the club, the police and the stewards have zero grounds to defend themselves as they failed to enforce the rules and guidelines as they are set out.
  24. Fault finding connections issues with any provider can be like searching for a needle in a haystack, but I would say it's worth doing in order to narrow it down to your provider before you think about shifting. The last thing you want to do is sign up with someone else and discover the problems persist. Your distance from the exchange and the quality of the line between you and the exchange is the first thing to look at as it will establish your maximum. You've already had this checked by a BT Engineer who has told you 5 Mb. Providing the BT cabling is not from the ark I would say you must be about 3.5 to 4km from the exchange (as the cable runs, not the crow flies). Your modem/router will probably show that 5Mb as your down(stream) connection speed regardless of where in the house you plug in the modem/router. This speed is a theoretical maximum and it would be very rare for you to achieve it. The more important things you need to compare between the socket you use for your modem just now and the master socket are the Line Attenuation and Noise Margin (Signal to Noise Ratio/SNR) figures. Line Attenuation on the Master Socket should be lower than anywhere else in the house. Noise Margin/SNR on the Master Socket should be higher than anywhere else in the house. If my assumptions on your distance from the exchange are right then I would expect an Attenuation figure of around 45-50. If it's lower then great, if it's higher then your either further away from the exchange than I assumed or your on some old wiring between you and the exchange...neither you can do anything about yourself. The Noise Margin is a difficult one, but as a rule of thumb in getting a stable connection then 6db is comfortable and anything above that is a bonus. If all these things check out then it's probably fair to say that the problem is with your provider. I would try testing the master socket and other sockets at at least 3 different times during the day before jumping to any conclusions...unless of course you see any large immediate discrepancies between the master socket and other socket/s.
