Mars Bars - Can You "Believe" It?
Mars are already aware the sales in Scotland are plummeting, so after some consultation North of the Border they have given Scotland their own re-branding for the world cup supporting chocolate bar.

Is the Highland divide getting wider?
I still think some people believe it is a lot more than what it really is and blow it all out of proportion. Regardless of HOW the money has been invested and what it is used for, I would still be suprised if it was more than what Tullochs had put in to ICT, even before we had reached the SPL.

Is the Highland divide getting wider?
I think their is a lot of myth surrounding the amount of money Gretna have spent in the past, in fact, I wouldn't be suprised if Tullochs (David Sutherland) hasn't put more money in to ICT than Mileson has into Gretna.

Scottish Football League in Turmoil, SPL2 the answer?
According to David Sutherland Rangers, Celtic, Hearts and Hibs are pushing for a smaller top league, not a larger one. They may well use the chance of an SPL2 to push through that idea which is also worrying.

Scottish Football League in Turmoil, SPL2 the answer?
I still can't help think that this could be a case of "careful what you wish for" - although a pyramid system would in theory be great, if it was a geographically based setup then just have a look round and see who we would end up playing if we were to slip backwards.

Time to get the old...
It's not often I get the chance to watch a match as a neutral (albeit I was supporting Gretna, but they aren't my team) and I have to say that I thought Dougie MacDonald did a decent job of refereeing the match. As someone who can be quick to criticise officials, it's amazing the different perspective you get of the referee when your glasses are a little less tinted. Of course, come the new season I'll be back to screaming at the ref again everytime an opposition player breathes on one of the ICT players - but for me, thats half the fun of going to the games. :016:

Scottish Football League in Turmoil, SPL2 the answer?
Although David Sutherland spoke of his support for the idea of an SPL 2, he also said that their was very little enthusiasm for the idea from the Div1 teams - the article seems to back that up with them instead talking about a 3rd setup called the "Championship". I have to admit that it all sounds rather scary, and it's about time the SFA regained total control of football in Scotland before it goes totally bonkers and implodes. I can't see this "Championship" idea becoming a reality in all honesty as the SFL and SPL would stick the fingers up at them and just refuse them promotion/relegation spots. All that would happen is that the current 2nd would become the new 1st and it would take years for these teams to close the gap, and probably result in a lot more casualties as clubs overspend in an attempt to do so. Stuck out there on their own, the Championship would soon become stale; they would struggle for recognition from UEFA, FIFA etc and never be able to win European tournament places. We would quickly see member clubs re-applying for places back in the existing setup as the idea becomes the joke most of us already see it to be. The only way I could see it working is if the 'top' Div 1 teams can persuade the majority of the current SPL teams to join them in creating this new championship, but that is a long shot when you consider the relative financial security that the SPL currently provides. All in all I think it is nothing but hot air, and the only good that may come of it is a realisation by the SFA of how bad things are getting for Scottish football and forcing them into some positive action for the overall benefit of the game and its setup.

Their has been an official comment - The club will find out on the 5th June - short of having a Crystal Ball I don't see what else they can say on the matter.

Ambition For Next Season
Some people are naturally "Glass Half Empty" in their approach to thought and reason. Personally, I don't care all that much about what other teams are doing, especially when they have a history of getting it wrong or being very inconsistent. It's what ICT does or does not do that I care about.

Time to get the old...
I'll Echo what LG has said. Hearts could have been 2 or 3 up in the first half, but thesecond half and extra time was all Gretna. Gretna were solid at the back, but just lacked that bit of quality in front of goal, or it would have been a very different result. A very entertaining match all in all. Heard it mentioned on the radio a couple of times that their were no losers today, and that is spot on. I've not had much time for Hearts this season, but respect to them for stepping back after receiving their medals and allowing Gretna to do a lap of the pitch, they were clapped and cheered by everyone, their own fans, the neutral fans who turned up to support them today and the entire Hearts following. They did themselves proud and proved they were there on merit.
