  1. Tansey is suspended for this game. OUTSTANDING SUSPENSIONS GREGORY TANSEY (INVERNESS CALEDONIAN THISTLE) 1 SPFL FIRST TEAM MATCH FROM 23/03/2016
  2. Next game is on Friday at 2pm. Highland Football Academy. Inverness CT v Celtic Huge test for our guys. Celtic have a record of 21 wins, 2 draws and 0 defeats in the Development League this season.
  3. It sounds like it was a cracking game - and still leaves the HL a three-horse-race! Mantis...do you think Edinburgh City are stronger this year than last?...and capable of beating Brora/Formartine/Cove?
  4. Highland League Zander Sutherland (Formartine United 3-3 Brora Rangers) Garry Wood (Formartine United 3-3 Brora Rangers) Grant Munro (Formartine United 3-3 Brora Rangers) Northern Irish Premiership Curtis Allen TWO GOALS (Carrick Rangers 1-2 Glentoran)
  5. There is simply no way of knowing how the populace of Inverness voted. There are no stats for that - it's pure speculation and now, utterly irrelevant. Twitter or Facebook utterances as 'fact' don't change that. The boxes of voters' papers in Highland were not regionalised and so no official number can be allocated to each area. To sate that 'Inverness' voted YES is neither correct nor incorrect - it's simply unknown. Where has this 'Inverness YES' assumption come from? Indeed, what's the official 'definition' of Inverness? Where are the boundaries? Do we count North Kessock, Balloch, Culloden? Croy? Tomatin? Where do you 'literally' draw-the-line? Far too many unknowns. It's like saying that the folk in Scorguie voted x, Dalneigh voted x, Hilton voted x, Lochardil voted x....where are the cut-offs? But...enough of this Inverness voted 'YES' nonsense. It's completely unfounded. I've never seen an official source for it...and I never will! Highland's votes were counted as a Region. NO official breakdown of areas was made. Inverness may have voted YES or may have voted NO. To claim either way is absurd. We just don't know! What we do know is that Highland voted NO and Scotland voted NO.
  6. Those assertions may-or-may-not be true. The only official 'breakdowns' of the poll were the 32 Council Regions' figures. Inverness (unfortunately) is not a Council Region so that claim can't be held as factually correct. Nor can the claim that Scots born voters opted for a majority YES. Neither 'claim' can be proved, nor disproved, so they simply can't be considered as fact. The most recent census figures (2011) state that 83% of the population of Scotland were born here (that figure is a shock to me! - I would have guessed around 93%). "Country of Birth' - the first bullet point, from here http://www.scotlandscensus.gov.uk/news/census-2011-release-2a Forgive my arithmetic, but I reckon, it would have taken over 60% of Scots-born voters to vote YES to win it - and that's assuming every non Scottish-born voter voted NO - which simply, wasn't the case. Obviously, this example is very simplified, but could be extrapolated: 100 voters: 83 Scottish; 17 other...(and let's say 50% wins it, for sake of argument) To get 50%, then 50 of 83 Scots-born voters would have to vote YES. Which is over 60% of the Scots-born voters' electorate. (50/83). And again, that's assuming that every non-Scot voted NO - which certainly didn't happen! But, my theory is unfounded and has no more relevance than dougiedanger's claims. Both are conjecture, speculation and completely without substantive evidence. But, what we do know as fact is that the Highland Council area voted NO and that Scotland said NO!
  7. Outstanding work, CMIB! I wonder if Strathspey's goal was by ICT ex-youth wunderkid, Adam McLeod? It's been credited as 'McLeod', so could be?
  8. "....playing for the old pre-merger Caledonian Thistle in Inverness..." Say what?!!
  9. Would you jump on the seats and stand on them at at Eden Court or at the cinema? Try that at other sports venues like Wimbledon or Murrayfield and you'd be ejected - and rightly so. Why should it be 'acceptable' in a football venue?
  10. Friday 25th March 2016 14:00 Highland Football Academy Inverness CT v Dundee United
  11. Bizarre stat of the day: The 3 subs we brought-on at Hampden, in the Scottish Cup Final, were James Vincent, Danny Williams and Nick Ross - all of whom will be playing for Dundee next season!

  13. Yeah, I'd have thought so, too. Obviously, we're known as 'Caley Thistle' or 'Inverness' and sometimes our 'Sunday best', Inverness Caledonian Thistle, but is that the official name? What is 'The Inverness Thistle and Caledonian Football Club Limited'....?
  14. I've just discovered that a new local amateur club has was formed last month, called Inverness Thistle! They'll be playing in the 'Inverness & District Amateur League' which is soon to start. They've also entered the Highland Amateur Cup, and have been drawn away to Portree Juniors in the last 64. It appears they'll start in the 1st Division (which I think is the 2nd tier), as they're effectively the 'old' Scotrail team, who would have been playing in that division. Although, on their Facebook, they clearly state they're a new club,https://www.facebook.com/invernessthistleafc/timeline?ref=page_internal, they do appear to be adopting the red-and-black stripes and a very similar badge to the former Inverness Thistle. But, good luck to them - 'running' an amateur team requires time and sacrifice. And, although I was a 'Jaggie', this project doesn't interest me in the slightest. I won't be down the Bught Park on a Thursday night watching them - it's all a bit too gimmicky for me! I'm content with my memories of the proper, old, Inverness Thistle!
  15. Thank you, Billy! That could be huge come the end of the season! Despite Dundee United obviously struggling at the foot of the table, Billy's been doing scoring goals, as he does. A class act at this level.

  17. That's incorrect. Our website reports the 'permanent' Brill signing on 12th November 2013. http://ictfc.com/news/club-news/1096-caley-jags-make-brill-signing Hughes joined us on 4th December 2013, so he had no involvement with the Brill signing. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/25203280

  19. I'll post the update in tonight's match-thread, but here it is for now.... Have been on Soccerbase and 'our' forum to tally-up the goals scored in all games, (Leagues, Scottish Cup, League Cup, Challenge Cup) and the number of goals in the Highland Derby currently stands at 128 - which, I'm delighted, coincides with the total goals I have on my sheet! This is even more of a 'blast from the past' - with current/recent players mixed in with those from the 3rd Division days. (some from the Highland League) The colour used for a player's name represents the team they played for at the time, which is why (for example) Vigurs is in the darker blue. Finally, players on the same number of goals are listed in no particular order. It's not necessarily alphabetical or chronological. Looking at the names on the list, it whets the appetite for this afternoon - but, I'm not going to Dingwall due to a prior family arrangement - but, I'll be home in the evening and will post the update then - there will surely be goals today!
  20. I think Brill came to us during Butcher's reign - but, I agree, it's a pity that we'll probably have to let one of them go.
  21. I do have a Highland Derby list! Will post it, updated, after today's game - should be 'up' this evening!
  22. I'm talking rubbish! I've just looked at the latest SFA list and although he does have a one match suspension, it doesn't kick-in until after the County game. I apologise for my mistake - as it also 'mislead' the 'Team for County' thread. I'm the one who should be suspended!
  23. On Soccerbase, there's a 'player filter' - but you can only select 2 at a time. http://www.soccerbase.com/teams/team.sd?team_id=482&teamTabs=results Picking Warren an Meekings as the filter, the games they played in are highlighted. But they can sometimes make errors, so you can click on the small green 'I' on the left of the game to 'check' - and see if Tansey and Draper were also involved in those games. I noticed that the Astra home game was omitted, but the BBC report for that game has the 4 of them starting.http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/33517063
