  1. Those weren't clearances, they were intended to be long passes! That's his biggest weakness unfortunately. With Munro is all punt, punt, punt. Here's the thing with Lionel though, would he be better in a more attacking position so he could run at the oppostions defence. It could be someothing like that that's needed in the next few games. But rememebr Hastings has been off the boil for quite some. Last season countless goals came from the area where Hastings failed to defend properly, or sometimes he wasn't even there. What about McBain? Not that great at left back it has to be said. What about Byrne? Would he be worse than Lionel? What about Gathuessi? Is he even here? Is he even still alive? Does he even exist? What abut Proctor? No thanks. What about Duff? Jesus Christ no way he was dreadful at right back. What about Vigurs? What about Imrie? What about Black? My prediction is this - Lionel will continue to the end of the season and will score the winning goal in the final game which will save ICT from the drop, mesmirising his doubters.
  2. Let me give you the highlights from the first post. Butcher says he'd like 3 Tokely's. Can anyone name any other possible targets for the prew-season who are Tokely-esque?
  3. I see Butcher reckons he had three Tokely's in the Caley Thistle team. Two at the back and one up-front. So are there any other Tokely-esque players about who ICT could go for in the pre-season? Tokely seems to have a black brother in Djebi-Zadi so I'd stick him up-front which leaves the big man himself either at right-back or centre-back and someone else in the position he aint. What about Lee Bullen? He might come, especially if Falkirk go down. Nearly came to ICT a couple of years back but had "unfinished business" at Sheffield Wednesday which he obviously sorted rather quickly. What about the legend himself Cafu? He was playing for some obscure Unibond Premier League team in Yorkshire. Don't know where he is now. Or about the great Craig Moore? Even better now than when he was at Rangers. Only signing one season deals with Brisbane Roar, his wife is Scottish. He's big, he's a leader, he's got great pressence, he has quite a good goal record, he's only 31 and will probably be Australia captain at next years World Cup. Would he consider a return to the SPL? Discuss.
  4. Full Time 1-1 Not too bad a result but a win would've been excellent, could do with a few points from the upcoming away games and beating Falkirk at home.
  5. Morais OFF Odhiambo ON
  6. I was watching a bit of the Asian Champions League in the week and Pohang Steelers had a really good striker called Denilson. Bit like Bayne but a bit better. Scored a hat-trick too. Link
  7. McBain OFF Barrowman ON
  8. Could do with sticking another striker on. I'd stick Rooney on.
  9. Red Card to McArthur! It says on the P&J site that the Accies manager is "John McCormack". I thought it was Billy Reid.
  10. Sounds like Lionel's got a handful. That's the beauty of 3 up-front though, always pressure on the defence.
  11. Well that's no very friendly is it? But it is true though that Chelsea's support (especially since they got bought) has rocketed, with it usually being kids it has to said. The same would happen if it were another team though, like if someone like West Brom got bought by some Saudi bloke, signed some decent players and had quite a bit of success, then there would be loads of new West Brom fans. Follow the money, as the saying goes.
  12. Well that's not very nice is it. :thumb04: But of the players who are out of contract at the end of the summer: Iain Vigurs - Aye Brian Kerr - Aye Pavels Mihadjuks - Aye Richie Foran - Aye Thierry Gathuessi - No Filipe Morais - Aye Richie Byrne - No Lionel Djebi-Zadi - Aye Zander Sutherland - Maybe (loan him out) Eric Odhiambo - Possibly Roy McBain - Hmmm Players who aren't out of contact but I'd still dump - Phil McGuire, Oh please get rid of him, please!
  13. Popping up? Your a few years late there! I was a Chelsea fan before we became rich anyway. Of course you were.
  14. A number of players contracts are up at the end of the season, but who's would you renew if ICT stay up?
  15. This Saturday is Terry Butcher's 100th day as manager of ICT. So how's he done? I reckon he's done pretty well so far. I know it's still pretty early to really say but the Americans seem to going on about Obama's first hundred days so we may as well do Butcher. But I would like to hear from others who were against his appointment at the time, and if they have changed their minds, or is there anyone who manted him in and now wish someone else had got the job? Discuss.
  16. Your defo going to be our next manager. Let's hope so.
  17. What does the fact that he's Norwegian have anything to do with it? And anyway it was never four penalties, two at the very most and it wasn't a sending off either, Anelka just fell over (as usual!). And what about that stupid twit Drogba at the end? Hopefully someone will put an end to that diving cheat before too long.
  18. Who doesn't, he's a big guy. And where are all the big Tokely haters? Running scared perhaps.
  19. Aint it strange that these Chelsea fans all seem to be popping up since they got bought by that Russian bloke? But anyway, with the Fletcher thing, that is a prime example of why the video ref should be brought in.
  20. No not yet I quite like Butcher, just whenever he goes to pastures new (hopefully not soon) we'll see how far I get.
  21. I've got one of those hats as well.
  22. Aye, toilet paper. AGREED!
  23. I don't think Renegade is trying to guess the team Butcher will put out (pretty damn sure of it in fact), instead, Renegade's saying the team that he would put out if he was the manager. Exactly, the thread aint called "Guess Butcher's Team", it' the team YOU would play, and that's the sort of team I'd play. And you have to get used to Renegade's teams. They're a little different to the norm. In fact I'd love to see us safe and Renegade be made manager for the day, so we could see just what would happen with some of the player selections he usually makes, especially Tokely and Djebi-Zadi. It would be an interesting experiment, if nothing else. Wow I'd love that, but I reckon that after my one game in charge (which we'd have probably won by a huge amount) the club would be giving Terry the old heave ho and give me the job for good. First the top six, then the SPL! They'd have to get used to me on the touch line though, I would make Neil Warnock look like the Dalai Lama. Whenever Butcher goes I reckon I'll start a campaign to get me as manager. Come on vote for me, you know it makes sense. why do you always put players wildly out of position? Is it to encourage debate, or are you unfortunate enough to have received your education courtesy of Inverness High school? Thankfully not.
  24. I'd also go along with a Pele-esque 3-5-2 and try to knock a few past the Accies: -------------------------------------Esson------------------------------------------ --------------Mihadjuks-------------Tokely--------------Munro------------------- -------------------------Black------------------Vigurs----------------------------- ---Morais--------------------------Djebi-Zadi-----------------------Imrie-------- -------------------Barrowman-----------------------Foran------------------------ Subs - Fraser, Kerr, Rooney, Gathuessi/Odhiambo, Proctor/McBain, Duff, Hastings I'd also go along with an attacking 3-5-2 with Mihadjuks slotted in at right-centre-back, with Munro slotted back in (along as he doesn't start that useless hoofing rubbish) so his partnership with Tokely can continue. Black and Vigurs in there to ping the ball to either wing (with the midfield playing as wide as possible. Foran and Barrowman up front with big Lionel sitting just behind so he can run at the Accies defence.
