For those into memories/history etc. two brilliant sites for you to log onto. Under Scotland's People I have managed to print off copies of birth, marriage and death certificates for both sides of the family for Grandparents - Greatgrandparents - Great, Greatgrandparents, - and - Great, Great, Greatgranparents going back to the early 1800s (all contain suprising info. that leads you on to other searches). This research led to me making some facinating discoveries about extended members of the family- some good, some not so good. Also managed to find most of them on most of the census records going back to about 1851. You get the street name and number, all members of family listed and their age,occupations plus other info. It really is a detective challenge especially if you come across a relative with a name like Donald Macdonald and they were born in Inverness-shire! On Ancestry UK website I managed within 10 minutes of searching to get and print my Grandfathers Great War Pension record, 6 pages of facinating information - his Medal record/list 1 page - and his sign up papers and Service record including all records of his hospital visits and wounds another 6 pages. Really, really amazing stuff! Try it out it is not difficult but it will cost you some cash as you purchase credits to view the records. Anyone else on here tried it? How did you go and what did you find out?

Went with a large group of friends to see French and Saunders here in Auckland on Friday Night. None of us were really fans of them but they were on and it was something to do. Over the two hours of the show I reckon we must have laughed once. By two thirds the way through I was genuinely falling asleep. Totally unfunny. Concerning thing was - about a third of the people in the audience were rolling in the aisles throughout most of the show!!??!! The main comedian that I find very unfunny and fail to see the point of is Gordon Brown.

I saw a cloud the other day that looked like a face ! However that does not make it an actual face. Need a real stretch of the imagination to see a face in these photos. I cannot see it myself. All the same this interest probably keeps you off the streets.

Here we go again! Triumph of hope over experience springs eternal. Scotland's chances of coming second in our table in the World Cup qualifiers just improved markedly with the results from last night's games. Our main opponents Norway now in last place with four points from four games. We are on seven from five. Can we do it? Or will Iceland finish ahead of us. Does anyone care anymore? I want to care, I really do but something deep inside me tells me, don't get fooled again! Ignore it all and avoid the deep disappointment of another Scottish football team failure. Experience tells us we will go into our last game of the qualifiers needing to win by three clear goals just to make the play-offs. If that happens, like many, I can see me getting fooled again. Does anyone out there have any advice on how I can cope with the next six months of Scottish hope?
