Rangers -V- ICT : Matchday Thread
Pity abut the result but what strikes me looking at Soccerbase is the timing of the respective teams' subs. Rangers: 60, 61 mins ICT: 84, 86, 87 mins Has anyone actually ever enquired direct to Brew why he seems to own a different coaching manual to the rest of the managing fraternity?

Second half underway and I'm getting it loud and clear in China. I feel like complaining to BBC that they are not blocking my enjoyment of Saturday fitba' as usual but I think I'll keep quiet for once.

Imagine my surprise when I logged into Radio Scotland half an hour ago and have just listened to the last 30mins of the Killie v Celts game...go figure! Though now I've alerted them to this anomaly I'm expecting the usual blackout. :010:

Scotland v England!
"France replaced the Netherlands in the top five as European sides once again dominate the table in terms of numbers; while the top two are South American, fully fifteen of the top twenty sides hail from UEFA. Nigeria are the top African team after rising to 19th place, while Japan lead the Asian contingent after jumping four places to 30th. While the FIFA rankings were formerly a mere curiousity item, they have recently taken on an extra measure of significance due to the fact that UEFA nations, and others, are set to use them as the basis for World Cup 2010 qualification seeding. As such, the likes of Scotland - who once again moved up one place to 13th - could be in Pot 2 for the qualifiers, having been in Pot 4 for the Euro 2008 campaign. India remain constant on 156, China dropped two places to 91, Australia moved down four ranks to joint-52 with Saudi Arabia. Georgia were the biggest winners, jumping 33 places to 71st, while Cape Verde fell 36 down to 112 in the biggest drop." Hard to remember the last time India or China competed against 'Top 50' opposition...so how on earth are they expected to make any impression on this beauty contest? I'll go with that!

Scotland v Georgia
Agree with that. Only needing a draw next month was a recipe we know too well. At least it's all clear now and big credit to McLeish and his squads for getting us to this point. PS Great to see Scotland so high up the FIFA rankings but can someone brighter than me explain how that system works. Seems to me if you are regularly playing top Euro opposition then you are bound to yo-yo up and down the table. A couple of half decent results there and bang...top 30, no probs. What about New Zealand, Qatar, Mali to name 3. Are they ever playing the sort of opposition that's going to make a serious impact on their ranking? Is there some complicated seeding system? Should I have started a new thread? :029:

The latest from Mr Savage......
"Moves, however, are in the pipeline to rectify that, although much will depend on whether the number crunchers at Caley Thistle can justify what is certain to be a costly exercise." The pipeline's getting moved. :029:

Time to drop Fraser
OK. Clear. So you don't like our keeper! Just so we're clear...is the 'ability' of the remainder of the squad up to your standard? Crivvens! :024:

Time to drop Fraser
Funny that.......i must have dreamt the other 6 games :017: Funny that I didn't notice you going after him after 6 games. If you can give me the thread address I'd be grateful. Cheers... :017: :017:

Beware of the Trojan Horse
- Beware of the Trojan Horse
I wish...too many fake Monty Python DVDs :029:- Beware of the Trojan Horse
Jeffries: C'est un lapin, un lapin de bois. Midfielder: Qua? Three players' heads appear around the end of the dressing room door and disappear again. Midfielder: Un Cadeau! 2nd Midfielder: What? Midfielder: A present! 2nd Midfielder: Ah, un Cadeau! Midfielder: Allons-y, allons-y! 2nd Midfielder: What? Midfielder: Let's go! 2nd Midfielder: Ah! The two Midfielders and Jeffries creep out and wheel the rabbit into the dressing room, closing the door behind them. Meanwhile...Behind the knoll: Brewster: (to Park) What happens now? Park: Well, now, uh, Tokely, Wilson and I, uh, wait until nightfall, and then leap out of the rabbit, taking the Ayrshire scum, uh, by suprise. Not only by suprise, but totally unarmed! Brewster: WHO leaps out? Park: (pointing to each player as he names him) Uh... Tokely, Wilson and I.... uh, leap out of the rabbit, uh, and, uh.... Brewster: (groans) Park: (pause) Oh... um, look, if we built this large wooden Badger.... Brewster knocks him on the head. Just then, the rabbit comes soaring out of the dressing room. The team disbands amid great shouts of "Run away, run away!", but the rabbit lands on yet another helpless substitute. Cries of distress. On second thoughts let's scrap the Trojan Rabbit idea!- Champions League

Outstanding! Cheers TWS... :022:- ICT -V- FALKIRK : Matchday Thread
Missed the show last night due to an unfortunate convergence of Windows Vista and China Telecom...however, Broadbandman has just visited and he looked at me funny when I started whooping at Soccerbase Results! Well done all the team - some very encouraging onfield reports going about this morning. :021:- New Manager
Humble pie means diddly...and I'll bet I make many more mistakes...but, nobody has ever asked for your/mine/anyone's undying adulation - least of all Brewster, my one worry is he will never perform this somewhat bizarre request for an 'appearance of contrition'. I really, truly don't understand that!- New Manager
Was the winner on Saturday sufficiently contrite Scotty? The photos seemed to show his knee was quite bended!- Positives
What happened to this thread? Too many Moderators probably... Well after a hugely enjoyable visit to the old country where I watched ICT ship 6 goals in 2 games and saw nowt in the opposition direction I want to reiterate my comment on the 'Celtic v' thread...this is a good TEAM that will come good in time. You may well say 'thank god for Gretna' (I know did) but there is a strength and technique in the performances that, I confess, surprised me. A taskmaster like Brewster is EXACTLY the leader we need at this time. I've no worries. It may even get worse, but believe, IT WILL GET BETTER. Ho hum, back to the spicy chickens' feet! - Beware of the Trojan Horse
