  1. It was a Scottish Qualifying Cup (North) tie at................... this team entered the league the season before. winners in this season 1985/86 Peterhead 5, Buckie Thistle 1.
  2. Just came across a programme for a certain match for this team. (20p) the real ones. Who were the opponents and what was the score on Saturday 5th August 1985 W Neilson.........ex-Caley starlet, taken his chance since the departure of Les Fridge to Chelsea. W Skinner........18 year old ex-Dundee United, returned North because he was homesick. W Wilson..........20 year old full back. K Sweeney.......another 18 year old ex-Caley starlet but life long Thistle fan. D Milroy............been with the club since he was 14, now 28 and second longest serving player at Kingsmills. M Andrew.........ex-rugby player, fast and uncompromising. A Black..............titch, longest serving player, won every honour in North football, probably the most popular player in the game. G Hay................skillful midfielder, Glasgow born Tax Inspector in his second year with the Jags. A Macdonald.....Ft Augustus youngster, six goals already this season. F Taylor............ex-Forres/Clach & Brora, suspended for first 4 games of season, scored 6 in 4 games since returning. C Christie.........19 year old ex-Caley starlet now following in his brothers footsteps, skillful player in the Titch Black mould. C Maclean.........Grantown based. Hardest worker in team, his size hides his strength. W Sanderson....Much younger than he seems, been in the Highland league scene for so long. B Black..............Titch's brother, now second team coach, badly affected by injuries, joined club in 1973. ref was J.R. McCulloch (Inverness) and, after 8 or 9 games, the Highland league looked like this team-----------played------points ELGIN-------------8-----------22 CALEY-------------9----------19 COUNTY-----------9----------17.......County had scored 30 goals, nearest to them was Elgin with 19. PETERHEAD-------8----------17 FORRES------------7----------16 JAGGIES-----------7----------13.......but two games in hand over Caley, Elgin had played one game less than Caley KEITH--------------7----------11 HUNTLY------------9----------11 BUCKIE------------7----------10 BROCH-------------8----------10 VALE----------------9----------10 Ft WILLIAM--------7-----------9 BRORA--------------8-----------9 CLACH--------------8-----------7 ROTHES------------8-----------7 LOSSIE-------------9-----------4 NAIRN--------------8-----------3 So, which of these teams did they play? Incidentally, Forres Mechanics eventually won the league this season, their only ever Highland League success.
  3. The crisp sarnies are ok,but remember to take them out of the packet first :029: Don't try this at home children.
  4. Oh dear It's a celebration of Barry Wilson's time playing for ICT. We won't be fielding our strongest side either, we don't want to ebarrass them now do we. It's supposed to be a bit of fun, it's not life or death. So a Liverpool supporter thinks we are taking this seriously......aye right. What the feck is wrong with everybody.............is it the weather?
  5. girls, girls, girls, continue the argument on private messaging please.
  6. It has a Biggles-esque theme about it, maybe the scarfy bit is the Flybe input. Disaster of a strip and the all blue socks look hideous.
  7. Nicuale proceeded to thank team-mates Ian Black, Graham Bayne and Don Cowie for their support and best wishes, conveyed via text message throughout the finals. Obviously getting paid too much to be sending text messages abroad. Good to see he appreciates what we have done for him and good luck Marius when you leave.
  8. Will there be a Marius watch for his honeymoon? Congratulations Mariushh :021:
  9. Therein lies the answer within these very boards................................it was only mee bathing in the beatiful shores of the loch.

  11. :012: Nothing new to add, just bored with the whole thing. Could not care less if he comes to us or not. Maybe he is a red herring.
  12. If you believe in it then it is real..........if you are a tad sceptical like me, then it's a figment of imagination, or a tourist trap.
  13. good on ya tug, you are winning now.
  14. Yes man landed on the moon.............he was on the back of the Loch Ness Monster.
  15. I'll volunteer to paint the shorts on.................if I'm too late, can I lick wash the strip off.
  16. Well done............fantastic achievement.
  17. Aye me to. Are you guys talking in a different language...........I can undersdtand Rig, broadcasting from his loo...........likewise :014:
  18. From official website Ian Taylor, General Manager of Market Development at Flybe said, "We obviously like the new design having been involved throughout the process of introducing the new kit,we are also delighted with our first year as sponsor of Caley Thistle we look forward to an increasingly successful relationship with the Club as we move forward into next season." The new kit is part of an ongoing contract with Italian manufacturers Errea and is scheduled to be available for sale from Wednesday 25th June. With a design reminiscent of that worn when ICT won the first division in 2004, it is hoped that this strip will bring some of that magic to next season................... Aye right, the strip is like someting you would buy in Primark, it will make no difference to the way we play, but we will not look aesthetically pleasing
  19. Looks like the Romanian tactics were get the ball to Mutu and let him keep it until the defenders take it off him. Numerous occasions where Mutu should have fed in one of the other forwards (including Mariushhh) but the greedy sod kept running into a cul de sac. Get Mutu out and let the other guys play for each other. I felt sorry for Mariushhh, shorry, Marius, as they kept the ball away from him and he hardly touched the ball. His half time stats showed he did plenty of leg work.........but strikers also need the ball to go with that and therein lies the Romanians failings. Holland deserved to win and for Romania read ICT, too little too late. I for one am delighted to have seen an ICT player playing in the top European tournament and to see him rubbing shoulders with some of the best footballers in the world is just magnificent. It's not his fault he was not allowed to shine, take a bow Mr Mutu, you have ruined your countries chances of progressing, penalty miss and all. Notice his (Marius) speed stats were a top speed of 23.86 (kph I Presume) and he covered 7866m in his 58 minutes, (faster than Van Persie) No surprise that Robben was fastest at 30.89
