  1. right eenuff Summed up the first half but the second half was an anti-climax Not sure what Alex Ferguson saw in Evans but I will bow to his superior knowledge. I thought we might have seen the last of him, although he was keen to impress but for me he never saw enough of the ball in the first half. His dipping thirty yarder off the outside of his boot was a spectacular effort, but not enough to make his day outstanding. Jimmy Jabby was solid, quite an imposing figure. Yes his shot was ballooned high over the stand, but hey, he has something in common with Hastings after all. He also provided the highlight of the second half with a bit of wing wizardy. Good acquisition if you ask me. Stroll in the park first half and deservedly four up, could even have been seven up. Mr Barrowman obviously found the Merkinch rearguard much tougher than the second division brand. He did win plenty balls in the air so we still have that option, but I suppose he should really have buried a couple of the gilt edged chances that came his way. Imrie looked sharp and all the afore mentioned had decent games, Proctors finish reminiscent of his equaliser against Celtic. Cowie took a free kick smartly, catching out the keeper low to his near post, and Imries goal was a well worked move and cool finish with Black turning in a rebound. I thought Black was the class act on display. Mention for Bazza as well, he looked pretty hungry and is always a class apart. Tougher game looming for Tuesday evening and we will no doubt bring yesterdays squads together to form a single unit.
  2. Wow, the club are really going to miss you. :014: what does being a supporter actually mean? I am confused now.
  3. Excellent piece of business if that is the case.
  4. :017: there would be no gaps.

I agree Kev Connie has a history of dislike to Fraser playing in goal for ICT, she is not keen on him being the incumbent, which is her opinion, but a lot of people on here believe Mike Fraser has justified his selection. However, a decent experienced number two could ensure he stays on his toes. Lets not forget the save he pulled off against Celtic, unbelievable, highlight of the season for me.
  6. Courier today has Niculae not featuring in either of tomorrows games, but Barrowman, Wood, McAllister and Imrie should play. Sean Evans has impressed allegedly, and he will play against Clach, Richard Hastings may also play (where?). Brew said the squads for tomorrows matches which both kick off at 3:00pm will be split equally, "there won't be one squad that is stronger than the other at Inverurie or Clach. It will just be split totally down the middle"
  7. Sorry, unable to make it, I am having a tooth pulled out.

  9. Hibs look to be going out of the Intertoto cup after losing their home leg 0-2 to Swedish team IF Elfsborg. Poor result for Scotlands representatives in this tournament.

  12. Well said claret, looks like some of our fans are stuck in the 70's and 80's, and sometimes we forget that outsiders can look in from time to time. I'm sure most of these impressions are a bit tongue in cheek though. Maybe it rained when these guys called in. We have a few fans in the vicinity and I am sure some hardy souls will make the weekend of it as well, I might have a look in myself. Hope you enjoy our special brand of football and it is always good to spread the gospel further than Dingwall. Big name alright...........biggest in the game around here :021: We were also hoping to get a big name.....................but we got Burnley :023: Now...........all we need is directions to the best boozers before the game, somewhere we will be made welcome. Enjoy us.

Burton may have been a decent signing, but we don't know, we could have hyped him up on here and he might have flopped. It's all reverse psychology and hypotheticaliity and all that. I'm all for signing big (even well known) names, but lets's get realistic, who can play decent football---------in the position we desire-------in the price range we can afford.....(and the geographical location that suits all family members...the biggy). We are not the only club facing these restrictions, but our mostly blinkered fans only have tunnel vision and wonder why we are not signing the likes of Rhiordan etc.............it beggars belief that we have come to these exhalted old firmish attitudes. Hey..........whatever, the new season is coming, and you know what, we will be no worse than the last few seasons. It's not a quote Rig, but I believe your reply to his signing on P&B was something like a <mellow> thoughtplan ???please explain?

:015: It could go on a while.................he is about as ambitious as a club like ICT are prepared to go without breaking the bank. Name me a realistic person we could approach within our budget and the fans would accept as a decent signing...........three to give me a mean..........................not easy to keep this lot happy.........but all other spl boards are filled with the same horror stories.
  16. tm4tj replied to a post in a topic in Caley Thistle
Erm, I never said you did say that, paranoia creeping in. I said that not all County fans are saying the aforementioned..... but you are doing your best to undermine his potential at ICT. Check out the Jailender and they are not all spouting p!sh..........only the bitter ones and they are easily spotted. It's all in the spin you put on it...............and that includes the fans as well as the media.
  17. tm4tj replied to a post in a topic in Caley Thistle
Not like County fans to be bitter and twisted is it. Why should we believe these so called experts of the lower divisions, they know no more about football than us ICT fans. I am happy to leave it to the ones getting paid to select the players. rig, not all County fans were against him, some thought he was great, but I don't expect many to compliment him once he has signed for us. Why don't we wait and see for ourselves, with the right coaching and players around him, he could well be the rock we have needed in the back line. He will be no pushover thats for sure and if he can get consistency into his game then he may well prove to be a pretty shrewd acquisition.

He struck me as being in the Bobo Balde mould and I would imagine he may well be tried in the central defensive area as well as wing back. He could well become a cult figure...........then again, maybe we won't get the best out of him. I am behind this siging, give the guy a break and forget he ever played for County.......who.
  19. There is an erra in your typing.

Well, he frightens the sh!t out of me. I believe he will be a good addition to the squad and his presence may well be felt by a few spl forwards this season. Good signing by Brew, well done. If he comes towards you, just call him sir.

What a poor start by both teams, the Spaniards are sitting too deep and punting long hopeless balls forward and the Gerry's look the most likely early doors although nothing much has happened after fifteen minutes...........woops, almost an own goal, that big ***** Lehmann made a reflex save to deny Spain...........first action so far Great header by Torres from a Ramos cross, crashes back off the base of Lehmann's right hand post but bounces agonisingly wide of the follow up strikers. Torres looking razor sharp on the break and forces a corner. Nothing doing. Fabregas forces Lehmann to do some work with long range effort easily saved, half an hour gone. Jings, Torres is rapid, he outpaces defenders and squeezes ball past outcoming keeper from right side of eighteen yard box. 1-0 Spain. Ol? Ol? Ol? Ol?...........Ol? Ol?...................Viva Espa?a Spain in control and cut open the German defence again only for Silva to miscue a volley from fifteen yards. Ballack felled 38 yards from goal, wasted free kick floated beyond everyone. Neat interplay from Spain has Ballack dishing out some retribution. Silva's heavy touch wastes good through ball in the box and it runs out. Ballack back on after getting some attention for blood wound to the head I think. Corner to Gerry's half cleared but return blocked for another corner to Germany from the other side. Ballack getting involved again and needs to be booked soon, in fact he is now. Another swift break by Spain sees them go from box to box, corner kick, should have done better. Half time approaches and Spain looking the most comfortable on the ball and creating all the action so far, whistle goes to bring the first half to a close. Half time Spain 1-0 Germany Low key start to the second half, Spain still have the edge and Xavi fires in a vicious shot which ref gives a corner, much to Lehmann's consternation and from the resultant corner, Ramos almost flicks a shot towards the net. Next up, almost a carbon copy of the opening goal but Lehmann is first to another through ball with sprinter Torres a close second. Another Spanish cross whistles across the Germans box but no takers. 'Ouch', Ballack almost snatches an equaliser with a snapshot from twenty yards which ruffled the side net on the way past. Still only 1-0 and you can never write off the Germans. Kouranyi has come on as a substitute and the Germans are now responding with a couple of surges forward.....Schweinsteiger gains a corner after whacking a thirty yarder off a defender. Germans certainly putting the effort in now. Minor handbags with Silva pushing his forehead into Podolski's face...............seen people sent off for that indiscretion, 25 mins left for Germany to turn this round. That was Silva's last manoeuvre, being replaced by Santi Cazorla, probably for the best. Spain almos increase their lead but Lehmann equal to the task and Iniesta twice in as many minutes could have wrapped up the tie. But as long as this game stays at only 1-0 the Germans won't give up. Spains neat passing game is deservedly pushing them towards a long awaited European crown, with 73 minutes gone. Torres booked for a challenge. Spaniards playing themselves into a spot of bother, but swiftly transfer the ball to the opposite end where Torres does the defender but Lehmann reads it to smother the ball. Kiss of death for Spain as Lawerenson said that this is the worst German team ever...............lookout. Torres substituted now all six substitutes on the park as Spain break forward menacingly. Ten minutes plus for Spain to hold on. Great work by Senna as he carves open the Gerry's and almost gets on the end of the return cross, tantalisingly close to the clincher. Once again Spain break forward but no helpers, although a corner was a decent second prize, free kick from the corner offers a chance from twenty five yards centre of goal but Xavi lifts it over the bar. Spain defending deep as Germans try to take the game to extra time, but offsides thwarts the Germans. Spain have looked so comfortable all game and no one would have any complaints if they carried the tropy away after this one. Lapse in the German rearguard almost gifts Spain an opening but the cross is blocked as Spain keep the Germans hemmed in. Stifled laughs as Germans thought they were getting a penalty but decision goes to Spain, three minutes of added on time to wait. Game is just slipping away from the Germans, as Spain once more rip the defenders a new erse with only one minute left. Puyol is magnificent as usual as the Spaniards are on the cusp.....................Ol? Ol? Ol? Ol?...........Ol? Ol? Viva Espa?a Full time Spain 1-0 Germany...........waltz on. Good display by the referee and his assistants. Platini seems to be enjoying himself................now, there was a great player. We are the champions rings around the ground as Motson signs off, Spains first title in 44 years.
