  1. A Killie supporting pal who sometimes goes to the ICT matches was raring to get the opportunity to sing what is a much simpler yet perhaps more classy jingle!!! (Think of Black Lace and the Conga song!!!) Do Do Do, Do the Eric Odhiambo!! Do Do Do he scores from every angle!! Come on and do the Eric Odhiambo!!
  2. I agree with everything Revbirdog has been saying on this topic. How could any ICT fan support County in the final just because they are from the Highlands!! I am gutted that they won yesterday as we will never hear the end of it if they win the final. I am going to swallow some pride however and state that on the day they played a very poor Celtic side off the park. Some people on this board are being very parochial about the whole thing. How could any ICT fan sit next to the Staggies and honestly shout for them it just does not make sense to me but maybe I'm just old school!!
  3. Never seen so much change at the club since its formation are we losing the plot!!!
  4. No, but I do know him. From what I know GEO is speaking the truth, good luck for the future Dale!!
  5. After saturday's result I am rapidly losing faith in Butcher! Mr Media friendly has decided to mould his own squad unfortunately this isn't working. Today's Courier article highlights the great divide. Vigurs left the club because he felt that he was not in Butchers plans Wood has left for the same reason and now Gillespie. I guess the next will be Duff all four were seen as the future stars rising from the youth set up but have been forced to move on, in the case of Gillespie I know for a fact after been told (others too) that he no longer had a future at the club that he took it upon himself to resign after weeks of disillusionment. What we are seeing is the nucleus of a promising youth set up being dismantled for Butchers short term gain which all true ICT fans should be able to see. Vigurs got his revenge on Saturday here's hoping that Gillespie gets the opportunity elsewhere to prove his undoubted potential. Yes he has given others a chance but were is the logic in losing the above!!!
  6. Really hope that season ticket sales are up from last season. With the decrease in prices and the groundswell of support from true fans who have the best interests of the club at heart I would like to think that we could have around 2000 season ticket holders for 09/10. I believe that the figure of 2000 is probably what the club is aiming for and will ensure some sort of financial stability for the club at least for another year! From a personal perspective I have heard from quite a few folk that they are looking to by season tickets even having just watched the last game of the season this bodes well for the future. Does anyone else out their have any inclinations on crowds for next season?? :024:
  7. There are few positives after today's match however at least every match next season will be winnable which I for one will be looking forward to. Don't get me wrong I would swop life in the SFL for the SPL anyday (no brainer) but it will make for some cracking matches. We have to use our recent SPL experience to our advantage and if we can maintain the nucleus of our current squad then we will have a good chance of going straight back up or at least be challenging for promotion. It is time however to get rid of some of the dead wood and give one or two youngsters a chance to show what they have to offer. Hope we bounce straight up!!!!
  8. I remember the atmosphere created by the stadium announcer at Broadwood for the Clyde vs ICT match in our promotion season 5-6 years ago. The choice of music was superb and got everyone going before and during half time. Yip there was a real atmosphere with two opposing sets of fans facing up to each other in a classic match! I remember vividly the pounding music (Two tribes etc etc). Just compare this to the dire music pumped out at the Caley stadium it would only take a few choice numbers to get the crowd warmed up yet we seem to fail miserably in this department. We simply come across as backward and the choice of music fits in with Tichies MFR Sunday morning 70s slot stuck in a time warp!!
  9. I know it won't be easy to get past Falkirk on Saturday but was still just wondering in financial terms how much would the club get for a trip to the semi-finals? If we get half the gate receipt against perhaps the dandy Dons or either side of the old firm then that might mean at least 250k (30,000 crowd!!) This obviously does not include TV money etc. I really hope that we will be able to take at least 5000 down to Glasgow(If we beat Falkirk?). A replay would obviously help line our pockets as well!! Anyway I know there is more to football than money but any bounty would help retain the current squad assuming we stay up!!!!!
  10. I agree, passion is one thing but keeping a cool head is going to be crucial in the weeks to come! We need to have players who can keep their heads and if necessary the team may have to defend in numbers to win points!! Its going to be a real adrenaline rush over the next few weeks for us all indeed!!
  11. Was listening to the scores today and heard the Falkirk score. My initial reaction was the usual spouting of x-rated language. I then realised that I was getting sucked into the usual looking at other teams results syndrome (easily done if you are playing on a Sunday I know!). Thankfully positive vibes started flowing and it soon dawned on myself that A) ICT will only stay up if they do indeed treat every match like a cup final and do not worry about what is going on elsewhere in the league. I have supported ICT since 94 and I will carry on supporting them no matter where they end up at the end of the season! I now believe more than ever that TB is perfect for what we have to now achieve and that if ICT end up going down without giving up and fight tooth and nail to stay up then they will get my 100% support until the end of the season starting tomorrow with Celtic. I hope all true supporters out their will understand what I am saying!!
  12. Dale is certainly one to look out for and has been unfortunate not to be given a chance to show his worth of the bench. He is a local lad the youngest in the squad played for Scotland under 19s and will certainly benefit from getting regular first team football until the end of the season. If he is a success with Elgin I hope he will come back a more experienced and stronger player and will be given the chance to play in the midfield for ICT next season.
  13. I know this sounds defeatist at the start of the new year but ICT being relegated might help clear out some of the dead wood for good (both in the squad and within the board etc etc)!! I know I am not the only one out their that longs for some entertainment at matches (remember when the Caledonian Stadium was a fortress and we scored for fun!), a season in the 1st Division would provide us with matches we can at least hope to win. We would also be able to clear out some of the dead wood which we all know exists in the current squad and at least give those on the periphery a chance to show what they can do (Sutherland,Gillespie spring to mind!). Cheaper season tickets for a year would be great with a few derbies thrown in during the season. All in all one season in the first division could potentially breathe new life into the club! The above would of course be the ideal scenario I know how hard it is to go straight back up but its only a thought!! Does anyone else agree?
  14. This is going to be a mega important match to win not just because of our diabolical home form to date but also the fact is that our next two January home matches are both against the old firm. I am usually optimistic about ICTFC confounding our critics and staying up every year but the hard facts show that home attendances are falling and if we loose against the Dons there is a real possibility that the OF matches might not even be full house's. A good run in the Scottish Cup becomes more and more important for the club finances. I really hope things turn around soon!!! We can't depend on winning away from home much longer!!
  15. I am generally not one to blame individuals as football is a team game however!! Barrowman really looked out of his depth this afternoon against United, I have made the decision that he is not up to Premier League standard he never looked like scoring at any point this afternoon. I have said it before on this forum that we need an experienced striker up front who will be able to bring something new to Wood and Rooney!
  16. The best ICT squad is the current one simply because it has more strength and depth than any of the previous squads built up by any of the previous managers!
  17. Well done Jaimie it just goes to show that there is young local talent out their! I'm glad Brewster has been brave enough to bleed some of the youngsters this season unlike previous seasons. With young Dale Gillespie another local lad chomping at the bit maybe there is light at the end of the tunnel at last!
  18. As I have already mentioned on the forum this league is so tight this year that there is going to be weekly twists and turns. I do believe that we have to show some consistancy but with just six points between us and third placed Dundee United every team bar the old firm is been inconsistant at the moment. Personally I am starting to enjoy these twists and with a win on wednesday against Falkirk I believe that we will have several more points than at the same time last season ( not 100% sure about this!). Anyway lets wait and see where we are come January and maybe give Brewster a bit of backing at the moment.
  19. This is just my second post but I now feel that it is a matter of urgency that if ICT are going to stay up we need to have some sort of experienced striker up front. Someone who is able to provide serious man management skills on the pitch which will boost the confidence of our promising but not worldly strikers. We need someone who can instill confidence with his positional awareness (sadly lacking at the moment!). I am not one to spread rumours but someone in the mould of Robbie Winters who is looking to leave FC Brann at the end of the year might just fit the bill. I know he is not a superstar but he has the type of experience we need. Brewster did fit this bill but that was a couple of years ago! Other suggestions welcome!
  20. Your right Roscoe but what will make all the difference at the end March will be if ICTFC can collect at least 15 away points.
  21. New on the board. I have a real sense that something big is going to happen this season. The league is so tight that I truely believe that Caley Thistle are either going down or will be in the top six come the end of the season. It seems that each match at the moment is almost a cup tie and I believe that this league will stay unpredictable all season (Apart from the Old Firm). Hope Caley start winning away from home!!
