Are you really now saying that a man in his mid-thirties, just doesn't really know or understand what he is saying is a defense? A man who lets not forget has been around this 'environment' all his life and been involved in several incidents of this nature, yet doesn't know (or hasn't learned) whats right or wrong? But so long as there's no 'hatred' (although discrimination in modern society is deemed hatred) that's ok, because its just playing up to an audience?
In your position as a moderator, would I get banned or sanctioned on here for discriminatory language (I'd hope so)? Would you then rescind and defend me if I then said I was only joking and have a pal who is **insert offended sub-group** Would it be expected that everyone else would just say 'Aye, no bother its banter'?
Football wise, he may be a good foil for Billy or a smaller striker, but his best days may be behind him. Target man with experience - perfect for Doddsball but his off-field reputation and behaviour will unlikely bring much positive column inches in the press and could put off sponsors and fans alike.

I remember several seasons ago there was a meeting up in the function suite, with John Robertson and Chairman Rae where all supporters who wanted to attend could come and listen to what their plans were for the coming season, and supporters could ask any questions or topics that were concerning them. Maybe that's what's needed again, a reset between club and supporters?
Maybe you need an invite to Gordon Terrace these days for an audience.

I presume you are unaware that that he married a Catholic? Seems more likely that he is just a bit stupid and over-exuberant in giving certain fans what they want, rather than having genuine sectarian attitudes.
So its OK to be discriminatory if its deemed 'banter'.
Shocking news - this isnt the 70s anymore.

He's a bigoted sectarian *****......that's proven. Just the kind of guy we want around the family club we are supposed to be.

Am I the only one who thinks that's really late for the players to be back? My social media is full of teams who have been back for weeks.
Also seeing it reported that Jay Henderson is away over the bridge.
Our players only just finished last season a few weeks ago due to the cup final, they deserve some family time etc. We also need to be pragmatic and accept the LC group stages is nothing more than friendlies which they replace and while progress would be good a lot of teams are still building for the real event being the league campaign.
JH was only ever on loan and we were never really going to keep him, he was always away to another Premiership team

If Billy goes, I look forward to the highest paid, least valuable person at the club releasing a statement about wage caps and not letting players hold the club to ransom, blah, blah, blah.
Will that be before or after unveiling Kyle Lafferty? Can see the mileage in that rumour - bug target guy with a staunch background....perfect for hoof and hope Doddsball
Really ******* hope this is all just a big misunderstanding

Hoping that given his history, he is involved in the medicals and risk assessment for our summer signings and we wont see repeats of the 'injury crisis' from this season.................

Johndo we’ve had pods asking fans for questions to put to SG and although we had a few there wasn’t that many as I’d have liked.
Its not about how many, its the quality and probing nature that's needed then the conviction to put the board on the spot to challenge them. Unfortunately (no offence) but we know the pods done wont 'bite the hands that feeds them' and call out the board as liars or weak

I hear we already offer the best championship level football fan experience available in the Inverness City boundaries. Pretty sure that aligns with the board opinions too.

Knowing our board it'll be castore incoming with an orange away kit

,Billy McKay has turned down a two year contract which would have made him one of the highest paid players on the club's books.
Right now maybe, but considering our constant cost cutting he will be well away from earning what he did in previous stints, and easy for other clubs to better even in this division

It means that Austin Samuels has extended his contract
Uninspiring. Probably considered ok as a back up to someone like Billy, but as our sole experienced striker to lead the line.......let's hope the defence is rock solid then

Some pathetic, childish bitter comments just because a guy who served us well has the opportunity to further is career elsewhere and earn a better income.
All those who keep looking at County all the time, instead of being jealous of what they do and wishing their failure, maybe turn that ebergy and time towards why are we not doing better instead.

If the club are using Robbo and is profile to gain investments and traction for the Academy, former Scotland international, Record Hearts goalscorer, media pundit, former manager yadda yadda. On the face of it, if thats the case then he is proving successful in gaining the investment needed however quite what the split is in terms of time and then expenses to the club is not transparent, including any financial 'bonus' incentives for getting this over the line.
My understanding is that the DoF is typically involved with recruitment and helping find players, however I'd question whether the success rate on this is anything more than average and perhaps no higher 'hit rate' than we had previously without a DoF.

Given the cup final was less than 2 wks ago and depending on when the club actually submitted offers its perfectly reasonable that some including Billy are on holiday with family etc and will resolve with agent input on return. Be more concerned if we enter July and no news or feedback on players.

Pleased to see Danny re-signing but just realised that, to the best of our collective knowledge, apart from Lewis Nicolson the entire squad is out of contract from May 2024.
You'd imagine one or two new recruits might be handed 2 year contracts but next Summer is going to be brutal in terms of turnover.
Meanwhile Dodds gets a 2 year contract until 2025....go figure
Given the rising costs in wider society, the clubs finances perhaps it's a sensible-ish move to allow one final push towards promotion hopefully by winning the title. Otherwise it leaves us the option for part time without significant financial burdens and commitments.
Wouldn't be surprised if that's the case given we have IMO had a strong squad and budget to match for the last 2years and realistically blew very good chances to get out of the league given how poor it was. I think this year may be tougher but it may be 'all or nothing' time.

Has there been any information on Dodds backroom staff? Hopefully he is allowed to bring in his own coaches now that Baz and Ryan's contracts have expired
Not sure who within a Dodds network we could expect if that was the case, but is there confirmation those guys have left the club?

Couldn’t care less about the non footballing staff at the club if honest.
Bet they are happy then as it mirrors their contempt for fans and is a green light to do whatever they want without question. Although reading on here seems you're not a minority.

Strange given how little playing time Dodds gave him in the last half of the season.
Communication

Fans only matter to any club when the cash stops rolling in. Unlike any other business, football (and sport) is built on unwaivering fan loyalty (unless you're a glory hunter or plastic fan) so those in charge know they can treat their customer base with utter contempt and it has little to no effects unfortunately. There may be exceptions with great community ties and everyone feels part of a 'family' but they are the minority and there is a disconnect throughout football right now.
The club will look at it from the perspective that employing someone to actively work as an SLO or in communications will cost £25,30,40k pa, even if its part time that's still half a salary................does investing that time (and cash) result in more returns that it costs. For a club our size its probably debatable - realistically given our ST costs we'd need a drop of around 600 just to make back the lowest quoted figure. Even with the discontent its unlikely we will see such impacts year on year (and nobody will look back beyond that because they will justify with other external factors)
