  1. three times yesterday all ross had to do was cross the ball from near the bye line, each time he hit the defender resulting in a corner. from hamiltons point of view this is excellent defending, stopping crosses coming in. from an ict view it is crap not getting the ball past the first defender. butcher talks the boy up because he has to as he has no one else to play while foran is out injured. as soon as foran comes back he will dissapear to the bench where he belongs. could he please take odiambo with him. the little black hamilton centre forward gave him a lesson yesterday, receive pass, control ball, hold off defender, bring someone else into play. odiambo receive pass, take a touch like an elephant, loose ball, pressure back on our defence.

  3. seem to remember him as useless when he started, hooked and then the next week would come on as a sub for last 10 mins and his energy, runs with the ball ( then give it away usually) could change the game in our favour. next time he got a start was usless, then ok when given last 10 mins again, and so on and so on . also a touch like an elephant, no use for spl a 1st div player if ever i saw one.
  4. walked past photographer trev martin at full time, he was still sitting behind the goal line. he was was doing a ICT and going balistic about the camera lying on the ground next to him. it belonged to a free lance guy and was knocked over and trampled by some "fat bloke" who invaded the pitch. reckoned the ?20k camera was trashed. maybe the people that invaded the pitch could pay towards a replacement as well as paying for any fine.
  5. Had a great day out, last time i was up there was the cup game where we lead 3-0 at half time and still managed to lose the game, so yesterdays journey back home was much more pleasant. Would like to apologise for the behaviour of some of the younger fans in the caley club before the game. Myself and a fair few of the older fans were embarrased by them and id like to think that you wont hold the behaviour of some youngsters who cant handle thier drink against the majority of fans who know how to behave. Really enjoyed my 2 pies at the game yesterday, certainly one of the better mince pies ive had at the football in a long time, think the only one that comes close to it is the ones at Peterhead. Disappointed not to have got a programme from the game but as we arrived from the caley club at about 2:50 we were told they had sold out at 2:45. Thought your new stand behind the goals was decent, certainly alot better than alot of other new builds where your cramped, and we got a decent view of the game. I woulda bitten yer hand off for 2 points from our opening 2 games before the season started but felt we should have won against Partick, and felt a bit cheated by the ref after the penalty incident yesterday, although we were dominated without much threat for most of the game, although we did come into it alot more in the second half. Cant complain at 2 points though from 2 of the more fancied teams in the league. all the best for the forthcoming season, except for when you play us i remember that cup game also. in those days we were usually crap first half and once pele got his half time team talk we improved second half. that day the ayr centre half, john yogi hughes, waved a clenched fist in victory to the ayr supporters while leaving the park at half time. we came out the second half and scored 4 goals in i think 17 minutes to win 4-3. oh to return to those entertaining days.
  6. That'll do for me. Well done Terry and the players! Winning ugly is fine at this time. Definitely erases some of the frustration of last weekend. Regarding the unanswered poser put by Yngwie - isn't it the case that LDZ's red card wasn't for violent conduct therefore he will serve a ban next cup game...not league game? heard on radio today, commentator liam macleod's pre match team news from ict stadium. lionel in today before he has to miss the next weeks game against falkirk for getting sent off last week.
  7. wright came on 2nd half, viduka failed to show after the dressing room ramy they had at half time. remember a certain paul Ritchie, who was probalby our best ever finisher, wish we had him today, knocking us out of scottish cup when he played for hamilton. joined us a few years later.
  8. lionel was badly positioned, if he had been in line with other defenders falkirk player may have been offside from headed flick on. for the first half hour yesterday our central defenders hardly won a ball in the air. the forward was getting headed flick on's and their smaller forward, think stewart, was pacey and running past our centre backs on to the flick. it was a headed flick, munro failed to challenge that caused the goal. definate penalty but thought maybe lionel could have been helped if esson had come off his line quicker to gather the ball. this left lionel holding onto their player for what seemed an enternity before the ref whistled. would still give him another chance as he adds a presence to the defence and as butcher says he is probably the quickest defender over 50 yards he has seen.
  9. be great to see ICT ROGER rangers
  10. is he Rory in disguise
  11. i was sorry for lionel during the partick game.(i had seen him before on setanta/celtic/rangers tv showing ict reserve games against the old firm and thought he would be out of his depth). didnt agree with so called ict fans booing/shouting for him to be taken off although happy he was hooked at half time. butcher/malpas have forgotten more about footy than all the people on this forum put together know about the game, especially people who are not even at games. so as long as they select him it is good enough for me. i think he has added to our defence along with mihadjuks. not so long ago were were crapping ourselves every time a corner or free kick came into our box(macguire, hastings playing). we have lost goals at back post due to hastings inability to jump or his lack of ability to head the ball. lionels main problem is he does not know his own strength. have seen him play a 10 yard pass with 50 yard power on. his crosses can be well overhit also. at least they clear the first defender(i certainly would not want to get in the way of one of his heavier crosses) unlike our previous left back who can overlap only to trundle his cross along the ground or hit the first defender. to quote craig paterson on radio scotland a few weeks ago, "great play by ict, great overlap by hastings, but what a woeful cross.couldnt clear the first defender.dear oh dear." also when lionel punts the ball it dosent go 20 yards along the ground to an opposing player. his run on saturday beating 3-4 hibs players before being stopped was awesome( if he wasnt stopped he would still be horsing up the a9 to wick at this moment)reminded me of barry wilson in his heyday(minus the skill) when you could give him the ball to take on a run and give the defence a breather. although his run in the first half down the stand side line ended going out of play it took pressure off our defence. long may he continue. if we do loose a goal with lionel at fault hope we dont crucify him on this forum. some people seem to be waiting for his first mistake. didnt see anyone having a go at esson last week when he fumbled the ball on to wilkies thigh for dundee utd's goal. or the many other mistakes which led to goals this year. if lionel has a blip i'm sure butcher is more than capable of dealing with it.
  12. i must be really old, i remember alex and marion urquhart stopping a kick around between me and a couple of mates at bught park asking us to make up a team for a new street league, under 13's, they were starting up. this was 1970(ohhh dear 39 years ago). we called ourselves springfield and won the first ever league title. due to a draw on the last game of the season against ness utd, which resulted in a tie on points, extra time was played and then a penalty shoot out which the inverness courier reported on its back page as a world first. I took first ever penalty in world soccer to decide a game of football and scored but had to retake as the ref was untangling a bike from the goal nets at the time. teams that first year springfield, ness utd,b.c colts,k.d raigmore, lochardil thistle, dalneigh dynamoes, lochbroom utd, hilton athletic, sunnybank, burgh utd, central fives, tomnahurich in those days a glass of orange and biscuits were provided by marion for all players at half-time
  13. re zadi weak link see match report in todays scotland on sunday http://scotlandonsunday.scotsman.com/sport...ss-1.4981961.jp MAN OF THE MATCH A few contenders in the Inverness ranks and Danny Swanson made a late bid for the accolade when he came on, but Lionel Djebi-Zadi was impressive at left back for the visitors and largely responsible for his side taking something from this match. QUICK FACT Inverness have the worst defensive record in the top flight but since Terry Butcher's arrival have not lost a game. They have still only taken two points from a possible 30. TALKING POINT The sending off. Whether Danny Swanson was denied a clear goalscoring opportunity when he would still have had to beat Ryan Esson is one for the visiting fans to debate. The full article contains 1026 words and appears in Scotland On Sunday newspaper.
  14. i was at game, and if i remember correctly from the goal kick awarded instead of a free for us, hearts went upfield and got penalty, then roy sent off. turned a promising second half into a backs to the wall effort from which we got nil points. referees decisions like these change games. if it had been gers or celts in europe press/tv/phone ins would be discussing for weeks.
  15. little lennon story..............used to enjoy shouting abuse at lennon but changed my tune after the celtic cup tie when we lost i think 2-1 to pressley and miller goals. my nephew was going to romania with milburn school to coach underpriv kids. he needed to raise some cash for the trip. thought a celtic strip to auction would be good. waited for ages outside celtic hotel before match. then kenny miller appeared to go on bus. tried to explain the romania trip, told to f*** off. next out was kit man, he told him to p*** off. next out neil lennon, he listened and told him to come back after the game. !!!!nephew went to game thinking at least he tried. after game decided to go back to hotel. he told first player out that neil lennon told him to come for a celtic shirt. ignored.same with next couple of players. eventually neil lennon appeared and without being approached said to nephew did you get the strip you asked for earlier. nephew told him no one would speak to him, then neil lennon turned round to kit man who told nephew to p*** off earlier and told him "to get a strip for the boy". a celtic strip was taken from the kit bag and handed to nephew. lennon aint as bad as the press he gets.
