Wow, when I posted this on august 14th I was only pointing out the word suspended in the statement. not so happy days……………… =================================== Happy days on the horizon. From the statement ……… The club have also suspended negotiations with Seventy7 Ventures, who had been seeking to acquire a majority shareholding. a quick google of “ suspended” gives …….. The Suspended status means that the contract is temporarily 'suspended' and can be reactivated in the future. Hope that doesn’t happen and it’s only legal speak. -

I think it’s the way it works, managers build a team from back to front. dunc tried to get bavidge from Aberdeen , last week he tried ? to get the striker from Motherwell but he went elsewhere. I am sure behind the scenes he has been and still is trying. Every team on the planet is looking for a goal scorer, they are gold dust. RC have got a cracker from Northern Ireland league, Ronan Hale. So they are out there, but you need cash to get one. Unfortunately we shop in the bargain basement if we have a few coppers to spend. read DD post on yesterdays game, save me typing. i still don’t think we have the players that can create chanceees for the striker. Most of our attacking yesterday came from longstaff. A couple of north stand boo boys were onto him early on, but he persevered. Unfortunately he would go up to the full back, refuse the cross with his right foot, turn back onto his left and lay the ball off. By that time the big Stenny players had flooded the box. Not a chance of hitting billy or brooks. mackinnon designated free kick taker first half. All our defenders up for the crosses. High floaters into the box. The GK caught a couple he could, food and drink to him. Another couple sailed over everyone’s head for a goal kick. we could sign harry kane tomorrow but how are we going to get the ball to him. ps…. I would have played a proper left back yesterday, strachan if he was fit, and played Nolan wide left. Attack stenny from both sides. but I don’t know the fitness state of the squad so won’t criticise Dunc for not doing it. not rubbing it in, just showing what’s out there. Nearly as good a Kane Hester’s strike for Montrose against us a few weeks ago https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/videos/c8690jv7g94o

You must be talking about Terry Butcher. When Hughes took over in December that year the football was as boring as it is now, if not more. Remember one home game it took 70 minutes to have a shot on goal ( not on target, an actual shot). Passing the ball to death going nowhere. John Rankin on stv news preview, playing for DU said, we can’t give possession to ict you will never get the ball back. wonder when the cash rolls in if Dunc could also win the Scottish cup. But then he hasn’t been passed on the level of players Hughes got when EL TEL left. ( all the Dunc critics, only joking about winning the cup again ) Winning games is now the goal, but I don’t think if we had a manager that could get this team to be greater than the sum of their parts that would happen. It is was it is. We have what we have. Last week brooks missed 4 sitters, what can the manager do about that. Yesterday he was dropped to bench. only one team looked like scoring yesterday and it wasn’t ict.

That’s what I thought. Pep and klopp would struggle to get wins with us just now. need to weather the storm and see what happens when new investors arrive with the cash. my only change today would have been to play a proper left back, strachan, unless he has an injury, and play Nolan further up.
-
Yes but the players we have today are 4th and 5th tier players. if we weren’t in the predicament were in most of them would be farmed out to the highland league.
-
Ah well, as I said , I wasn’t there Saturday you obviously were so I take your view on board. Thanks for the insight.

checking the score, goals, subs etc, ferguson took off billy on 69 mins which is more or less the time he is taken off most games. He brought on bray who quite a few demand he gets more game time. Alloa get their 2 goals in minutes 70 and 73. Next 2 subs are 82 and 86 so loss of 2 goals/points is not down to them. Billy can't last 90 mins if we want him fit and ready for the next game. I don't know as much about footie tactics as some on here but what is ferguson supposed to do different than he did today. With the starting eleven picking itself every week surely bray is the first option from a very young/ weak bench. Edit...... I was at dingwall today with RC supporting grandkids. Don Cowie who was defending a 2 goal lead all of the second half made 6 substitutions. Tony Docherty who did very well with Dundee last season and has had a decent start this season, made 5 substitutions 2nd half chasing the game. Both worse than ferguson ????

Nice statement, and the way he put it across from Dunc while talking about losing both full backs, midfield player to injury, red cards, yellow cards etc. “THIS IS WHY WE GO OOT AND BUY COVER” you would think he reads some posts on here.

Obviously aberdeen didn't fall for Sir Alex's request for bavidge if he his heading to play championship footie. man utd did. Keep it quiet till he signs. Manchester United youngster James Nolan is set to join Inverness Caledonian Thistle on a season-long loan, subject to registration. The promising Academy defender will play under manager Duncan Ferguson, the Everton legend who took charge at Caledonian Stadium in 2023. Inverness are currently playing in the Scottish Championship and Nolan, born in Chorley, can look forward to enhancing his education in senior football. Inverness are currently preparing for their next fixture, against Queen of the South on Friday night, although it remains to be seen whether Nolan will be available. Everyone at United wishes James well for the season to come.

Scored 9 goals on loan at Kelty last season in 30 games. wonder if sir Alex put in a call to the dons?
-
To this above from this ………..Aye when we see results ... but we won't because he is *****! make up your mind.

Great news. Well done Alan savage. Your next 3 footer will be a gimme. After Sir Alex call to the club is this now the time for people to get off Dunc Ferguson's back and support the management as well as the team. Give the guy a break. The players gave him everything second half on Saturday, it wasn’t good enough but that’s all they can do. Savage talked about promotion, so hopefully he will find some dosh for some experienced players to go with the young guys.

TM4TJ puts it across a lot better than I could 08: Site Admin The rules seem pretty clear to me. ICTFC takes a zero-tolerance position in respect of unacceptable conduct and any behaviour that could tarnish the clubs reputation. This includes any form of abuse towards staff, visitors, players, officials and other supporters. Anyone found to be engaging in this conduct will be ejected from the stadium and may be referred to the police or arrested. The club will also issue bans to offenders. We want our supporters to make a noise and create a great atmosphere for the players to help drive them on hopefully to victory while making it a daunting place for visiting teams but please do so in an appropriate manner.

Let the yobs win, come on ocg. Youngsters are the future, no young fans and a few years on no supporters.

Not much action from us first half apart from billy hitting the post. Don’t recall either GK having much to do. hester goal a contender for goal of the season, what a strike, reminiscent of van basten although nearer to the goal. How he powered that shot into the net was amazing. second half we should have won the game but poor finishing meant no winner. If only we had a striker who can put the ball in the net. strachan for me is our number 1 left back, but alas the numerous times he was 1 on 1 with their right back he didn’t try to go past him to the byline instead floating harmless crosses to billy or brooks that were easily dealt with by Montrose defence or passing backwards. Go for it son. right back Duffy had a nightmare game, hopefully he will improve with fitness. 3 or4 guys tried the gardiner GTF, then started on Ferguson. One or two half hearted shouts to shut up from some in the north stand. all in all a game we should have won but lack of quality cost us I’m afraid.

You beat me to it satan

Yes it was. All 42 clubs in Scotland will be applying the guidance, Not just our club. gardiner gone, Morrison gone, a white knight on a white horse has rode into the stadium to save the day. Rejoice on that news. Give the club bashing a break. our safety officer would be obliged to relate the message to the fans. The SPFL has published its updated and newly approved League-wide guidance on “Unacceptable Conduct”, which applies to all 42 member clubs and is effective immediately. The updated guidance sets out what is expected of the home club for any SPFL match at its stadium. It also describes what is expected from both home and away clubs with regard to the identification of supporters who misbehave and that proportionate disciplinary measures should be taken against any engaging in Unacceptable Conduct. There is also new guidance on club communications such as Unacceptable Conduct statements, as well as on ticketing information and pre-match information sharing, while all supporters attending SPFL matches should adhere to the ‘Fans’ Charter’ published by the Scottish FA.

Are you sure Yngwie, Sometimes you reap what you sow. Looks like the supporters were vocal for them to throw money at the team to reach the promised land of the Scottish premiership as we may have done since relegation to the championship. German football investment group Fussball GmbH has put Dunfermline Athletic up for sale, citing supporter negativity following a poor start to the season and a perceived lack of summer signings. we have felt for a while now, probably since the middle of last season, that long-term planning and putting in place the building blocks for future success is not what many are looking for,” the statement added. “Many seem to prefer an investor who has deep pockets to throw at the first team and try for the best over and over again each season. “We said from the start that we are not this kind of investor and therefore have detected an increasing disappointment in our approach.” Supporters EH….

Starscape, I completely agree with your right to disagree, but you may have heard the club is on it’s knees at present. how do we get rid of an incompetent manager and get a competent manager in. That will cost big bucks. As I have said before I didn’t play at a high standard of football back in the day and have no football coaching ability so I don’t see what you see on a Saturday, hopefully you go to games, ( cue the buy a car scenario from other ) so I assume we will have to completely agree to disagree. ps…. To state we ARE league 1 standard at present, can you say how many of the other teams in the league have you watched in the last 2 weeks to come to this conclusion. i think a few on here, myself included, have stated we will do well to remain in this league this year. Promotion is a fanciful dream…… at present.
-
WOW, you can see all that from the bridge.
-
You need good players to provide service, sadly we don’t have them. Not since wotherspoon. billy certainly WAS a proven goal scorer, sadly not anymore. doesnt matter what the tactics are if you don’t have the players capable of executing them.. we don’t look like a league 1 team at the moment , more like league 2 pep and Jurgen would struggle to keep us in this league. heres hoping things change once the money starts rolling in.
-
Sorry, Longstaff is not a “proper wide player” I’m afraid. Can’t control the ball with one touch, can’t go past a full back.
-
Even I was bored as feck yesterday but it’s not just Ferguson. The euros for me were over when Austria and Georgia went out. With the supposed talent England had Southgate was using the Dunc method. Germany weren’t any better but were given false hope after their opening game against a bunch of no hopers.
