  1. Was speaking to a couple of parents who have kids in our youth set up. they have requested, been given, trials to join county youth set up. getting their kids in before the stampede ???
  2. Duke, I thought you gave up going to games a few months ago.
  3. Don’t forget, if not already, you will be an old duffer yourself one day
  4. On the plane home from hols on Monday thought “I will head to Hamilton on Wednesday”. Got a text when home from my daughter saying she had booked myself and the grandsons on the supporters bus and got the match tickets for……………….SJ v County. SJ were hardly a threat to county all evening. With 10 mins remaining county started running down the clock. Cowie had taken Dhanda and Simon Murray off. They got corners where all the big guys stayed back, they only had 1 man in the box and took the corners short to shield the ball looking for another corner. On 90 min county were safe for another year. Then SJ got a throw in level with county box. Ball to player, back to thrower, huge hoof into box and score 1-1. County now have to beat a resurgent, free scoring Aberdeen on Sunday or hope SJ don’t get anything better than a draw against motherwell. Moral of the story is we need to come out flying on Saturday. If we get 1st goal we need to keep pushing for the second, then the 3rd etc. come off the pitch after giving it everything. county were seconds from safety. Then bang. Would hate to see that happen to us. As someone once said “ footballs a funny old game, Saint”
  5. Thank goodness for the TRIPPLE LOCK.
  6. IHE was asking for the starting 11, the guys above would definitely make the bench.
  7. Haven’t bought anything at the ground for a few years now. It was a cold, dark, midweek game my grandson wanted a hot chocolate. The person serving filled the cup with boiling hot water, dumped a spoon of hot chocolate powder into the cup and passed it to me. I asked if she was going to stir the powder in. She gave it a whirl and handed it back to me. I asked for a lid for the cup. She said there were none left. I said you can’t give that to an 8 year old. Do you want it or not she screeched at me. No was the answer handing it back. I buy my steak pies from butchers Hastie&dyce in the Victorian market. £1.95, best pie in town. Footie pies they are called. Then buy the sausage rolls from Greggs. Couple of the kids have allergies so I have to know what is in them.
  8. Brill raven. Warren. Meekings . Shinnie Watkins. Tansey. A shinnie Hayes Brewster Mckay
  9. Correct on all assumptions . my gesture of good will is GOING to the game. Buy the pies, juices, moams and take them to MacDonald’s after. They cost me a fortune. took three with me to the raith away game and I was £80 for the bus, match tickets, pies and stop at the Chinese chippy on way home. Don’t think I had much change out of £150 that day.( not moaning, honestly, great day out) would be a lot easier watching on alba. then I have to do it all again at Dingwall on the Sunday. Roll on the end of the season.
  10. Not for me , I had 6 season tickets this year.Your suggestion costs me £60, clubs way £21 for Saturday. no brainier. Is it fair on families who put their money up front buying season tickets. They deserve something back also ?
  11. Looked for score at 18:00 Benalmadena time, 17:00 back home. was expecting a 3 or 4 nil result for us. disappointing to see a 1-0 score, a Montrose goal disallowed and the negative reports about the game. after happy hour have now decided to give the hotel entertainment a miss this evening. Flamenco show would compound my already sore heid. But a win is a win and on to Wednesday we go again. Hamilton scraped through today 3-2, with Alloa down to 10 men from 45 mins, 5-4 over the 2 games. So not a great showing from them. bbc stats, if you can believe them, show Possession 52 % to 48% in Hamilton favour. Not good when Alloa down to 10 all second half. unfortunately, I assume Hamilton still have a plastic pitch
  12. Oops, don’t know what to do if match goes to extra time
  13. On hols in Costa del sol, 1 hour ahead of UK time. hotel happy hour 1700 to 18.00 local time. Buy 1 get one free or as they say here 1 is 2, 2 is 4 etc. scorchio today so will check the score at 17.55, last orders. hopefully it will be extended happy hour and not the start of grumpy evening.
  14. Agree. But……… rules are rules. Everyone has to play to them. If they don’t what’s the point of playing at all.
  15. Was thinking the same. Falkirk, Hamilton, Alloa, Kelty, queen of south, Annan, Edinburgh and Stirling. 80% of teams in league 1 , are they all seaside towns/cities?? Edinburgh is next to Firth of Forth is that even a sea.
  16. Not sure about the strikers firing blanks. Don’t think Harry Kane would score many goals with the service on offer. longstaff to me is always facing our goal when he receives the ball and his first touch takes him further back. Can’t slip a ball between full Back and centre half as he hasn’t got the pace to go for it. I have seen him get to the byline twice this year, both in same game, and his crosses sailed over everyone’s heads and went out for a throw in at far side. Strikers can’t do anything about that.
  17. No way am I singling the legend out but to me looked like he scuffed his shot. Watching highlights on you tube I slowed down the speed and the ball bounces on the ground at least twice before it gets to the keepers hand. Have a look.
  18. Dunfermline v ict this season, they hit the woodwork 8 times. we have played like that all season, we conceded and didnt score
  19. I did my daily walk over that today, both ways, bloody freezing when the sun was behind the clouds.
  20. What about recording the game on bbc Scotland and watching it “ live” when you get home. you could be humming “PERFECT” throughout the game, it will be in your head anyway from the show.
  21. Made a mistake with QP. raith have been pushing DU all season for automatic promotion to the premiership. But 3-1 down to airdrie this evening as I post this. 88 mins played. partick, airdrie, Dunfermline all pushing for a play off place at the right end of the table. Partick were unlucky not to go up via play off against RC. I said hope it doesn’t happen, so I say again “ it doesn’t seem to have done them any harm” resetting and coming back up from the lower league
  22. Game should have been over 1st half. we were all over them Great save from Arbroath keeper boruc ( cousin of ex Celtic keeper artur boruc ) from a Samual hit from edge of box heading in top bins but he got fingers on it to put it onto bar and out for corner. couple of mins later Samuel had a turn and hit from inside the box but boruc got down low to his left to save again. late on in 1st half Anderson was played in but his poor effort couldn’t beat boruc from a couple of yards. was disappointed how we started 2nd half. Tippy tippy nonsense across the back line, no urgency to take throw ins and free kicks. One ball went out for a bye kick. Instead of taking the spare ball from the ball boy behind the goal ridgers walked slowly over to the corner flag to retrieve the original. We’re we counting down the clock that early. I felt we were not building on the performance of the first half and letting Arbroath come at us instead. Turned to my mate and said this is going to cost us. Arbroath took the gift and a fantastic hit from outside the box whissed past ridgers for the equaliser. Loud boo’s from the home support. I have seen this tactic from Ferguson before, when we are up he tends to defend the lead rather than try to extend it. samual had no right to win the ball in the box, turn and smash in the winner. It was pure strength. if we had taken our chances it could have been 3 or 4 goal win and confidence boost to take to Hampden especially after queens 5 goal hammering today.
  23. Hope it doesn’t happen but doesn’t seem to have done raith rovers, airdrie, Queen’s Park, partick, Dunfermline any harm dropping down, resetting and coming back up to the championship. And probably Falkirk next season.
  24. Sorry hopefully Anderson is a typing error above. wotherspoon could see a pass and then execute that pass. anderson is a grafter in midfield. His first touch usually heads to the sky and his next touch is a tackle. (thats what happened when he was red carded trying to take the ball down from head height after a poor first touch). Arbroath play their game in hand on us tonight against airdrie. We will be still 9 or 8 or 6 points in front with a 34ish better GD going into Saturdays game v Arbroath with Queens Park playing Dundee Utd same day. big game Saturday, huge game the next week. All to play for. Win for us and DU on Saturday get the bus booked for the hampden showdown
  25. In modern day language if someone condones abuse does that make them complicit?
