  1. F**K YOU Dundee we're gonna win the league! We're gonna win the league! :) :D Hopefully...

I have confidence we can pull it back once we go behind these days, something i haven't really felt since Pele was in charge. Foran, Rooney and Hayes is as exciting as when we had players like Wyness, Ritchie, Bingham, Robson, Sheerin etc.

  2. I'm inclined to disagree with your last statement. This is an important game for Raith. They're not safe in division 1 and their players will be wanting to impress McGlynn to get a start against utd. Today will not be an easy game IMO.

I completely agree with you but looking at those stats really does put you at ease a bit better.

  3. Probably pointless but may put some people in a calmer mood leading upto todays game, i am certainly a bit nervous about todays game.

We have now beaten Raith 9 games in a row leading back to 2002.

We are unbeaten against them in the last 15 matches leading back to 2000.

In those last 15 matches against Raith they have only managed 7 goals.

In those last 15 matches against Raith we have scored 36 goals.

Raith haven't scored against us in the last 5 matches.

Now for the stats that matter.

We are top of the league and they're no.

Raith are playing Rangers next week and don't give a monkeys about our game.

  4. I also now believe, and thats what scares me! At the start of the season i was going to be happy with top 3 and a cup run, which is what we got (and still will get). The challenge cup final was a great day out if not for the result, and the two Motherwell games were excellent as well as the atmosphere at Killie. But now we're top of the league by 4 points and i now can't help but expect us to be promoted.

In a way i hate being top. It's not as fun as chasing the pack and it really is a lot more stressful. If we were second right now i'd expect to easily beat Raith...now i just hope we don't f**k it up and any win will do.

  5. According to http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/, the following players' contracts are set to expire: Richie Foran, Ross Tokely, Jonny Hayes, Ryan Esson, Lee Cox, Danni Sanchez, David Proctor, Robert Eagle, Lionel Djebi-Zadi, Dan Stratford, Eric Odhiambo, Roy McBain.

Which would mean the only players with contracts beyond this summer are: Grant Munro, Stuart Golabek, Russell Duncan, Adam Rooney, Nick Ross, Kyle Allison, Gavin Morrison, Graeme Shinnie and Shane Sutherland...

Of the ones set to expire, the ONLY ones i think that are up to SPL football are Foran, Hayes, Esson and Coz. We would survive without the others. And before anyone points it out...yes i know i have omitted Tokely. I think he would struggle this time round at SPL level

Yet another season goes by where people think superman isn't upto the job. I remember his first season in the SPL when he had his doubters and ended up being our best player by a mile. Tokely deserves another shot at the SPL and he'll prove everyone wrong yet again IMO.

Where "IMO" being the operative words!!

But surely after everyone wrote him off season after season from the 3rd division right up to the SPL you would know better than to assume he wouldn't be good enough again next year.

  7. Why did we give Golabek a two year deal? I know he's done relatively well this season but at his age surely that was a bit of a gamble.

  8. I'm not 100% sure but Nick Ross and Graeme Shinnie signed new contracts recently, as did Terry and Mo. I think we have 3 other players signed up for next year, Rooney and Duncan possibly but can't remember who the 3rd is.

  9. I'd prefere to be 3 points infront of Dundee with the last game to go, meaning the league isn't officially ours yet but Dundee would have to put about 10 past us to win the title. Then we get our pitch invasion and no nerves throughout the game!

  10. C'mon Kingsmills, you have to admit Alan could get the crowd going in a way that many have tried since and failed.

The last two games i've been to (Killie and Partick) has been the best atmosphere in a long time and the killie match was probably the best.

The drums however were good for chanting Caley(clap clap clap)

  11. Well if we forget all Terry's other jobs and look only to Motherwell then maybe a repeat of that is on the cards.

Motherwell were in dire straights when Tel was brought in. Bottom half SPL. Financial troubles. Made redundant a large number of high earning players. Brought in a number of youngsters, including a couple of excellent finds in Stephen Pearson and James McFadden and not forgetting Richie Foran. They should have been relegated in his first season but were saved by a technicality. Motherwell were then able to turn around their financial woes and to finish in the top half of SPL for the following two seasons.

There are many similarities between now and his time at Motherwell. Though they didn't spend a season in Div 1. Can he do it all again for us. I think he can. He's already shown he can find quality players on the cheap.

Mark Brown was one of the young players Terry let go
