  1. This is all IF's but i have just noticed that for County to catch us we need to lose a game before the Dundee match for them to win the league (if Dundee continue to win their games). Then they would require us and Dundee to draw as either winner of that match would go on to win the league and not Ross County. Therefore i think Ross County along with their huge fixture pileup have even less chance of winning the league now.

  2. I think the use of the word support is maybe the cause of the unrest. A lot of folk might take in the cup final as it is an occasion. Supporting County could be an option, but I would look at it as a preference rather than 100% backing. I may or may not go to the final, that will be my choice, but at least one of the dominant teams will not win it this year. Would I actually want County to win it? Can't say I would be overly fussed, but I like the underdog, so if they were playing United, then yes, if Raith, then probably yes as well, keep the trophy away from the central belt.

Does that make me a County supporter, no.

Seems the sun has gone to a few heads today, lets all chill and bask in the glory of a fantastic result at Palmerston.

Your better with your words than i am. Thats exactly what i was trying to get across. I am in no means trying to change who i support but would like to see the highland team do well.

All a side a brilliant day for ICT and 3 games to go. Gutted i can't make next weeks match but i'll be there for Ayr in what will hopefully be our league winning match.

  3. I think Smee may have a point in a way. I live in Dornoch now and the amount of "die-hard" C*unty fans that have sprung up here is unbelievable considering most of them were Brora fans during their Highland League years. To an extent it is the same with ICT fans. I know guys in Sutherland who support ICT and have season tickets who are staunch supporters now but before we were a first division team I struggled to find anyone bar myself and my brother who supported ICT, nowadays there are ICT shirts all over the place. This is a good thing but had we still been two Highland league sides then I doubt there would ever be another Caledonian or Thistle shirt to be seen, there might have been one or two C*unty shirts. Glory hunters might be a strong phrase but our success certainly has gained us a few fans we would never have had.

You think that he has a point that fans from 1994 onwards are glory hunters? C'mon! Not another one. Theres thousands of fans that didn't give a monkeys about either sides before the merger but that doesn't mean they start glory hunting from the 3rd division onwards. Its ICT! Not a team to glory hunt over, neither is Aberdeen, Hibs, or Dundee Utd. People who support these teams support them because they love the club. Saying it's because they are a famous 3rd/2nd/1st division side is idiotic.

  4. I'd bet my bottom dollar that SMEE is indeed a very bitter Celtc fan it just oozes out of him .

Well.....a "fan" might be a bit of a stretch...considering i have never made any financial contribution to the club in any from. I have long openly admired their style of play tho. BUT....had it been even Rangers they played today...ad have wanted County to lose!

Right so you follow the same style as my dad, old fashioned and a big caley fan when he was younger but IS a "fan" of the one side of the OF, he doesn't like to call himself a supporter as he doesn't go to any OF games neither buys their merchandise.

  5. Is it the time of the month or something? Why is everybody so angry? Some choose to cheer County on, some don't get over it it's life. I personally think they deserve to be in the final after today's display but will not be cheering them on in the final as I couldn't give a toss who wins.

If County were to lose the final then fine, thats not what i'm asking for here. I'm asking for a day out at the end of the season for the Highlanders. Why not go along to a cup final? Going by the attitudes of a few here that you can only go and watch ICT then most have never been to a national cup final before so why not take one in and support the highlands in the meantime.

  6. But its more than that though, Before County had even scored SMEE had said he didn't want County to win, He is also yet to say he isn't a Celtic fan that is bitter.

I will happily admit that I wanted county hammered too, I am not a bitter Celtic fan. This was the first time I had been rooting for Celtic since I was in second year at school (late 80s if you were wondering). You want to accuse me of anything?

Why the first time since the late 80's? Did you used to support Celtic?

It oozes out of Smee not you, Your opinion was valid but for Smee to say that fans from 16 years ago and onwards are glory hunters is unacceptable.

  8. bIRDY...i think you and i are cut from the same cloth as far as our old fashioned footballing values are concerned. The MAJORITY of the ICT support have NO previous experience regarding supporting football in INverness before the merger. I guess we just have to accept that they have little understanding of what that all meant, and that we have carried over our attitudes to supporting ICT! But we can hold our heads up...as we were the ones supporting our local teams when most of the Inverness supporting folk chose not to!

Birdy & SMEE- Im with you on this one, much as i wanted County to beat Celtic; cos i fck*ing hate the OF and their arrogant followers, i'd never support County in the final, Highlanders or not.

But its more than that though, Before County had even scored SMEE had said he didn't want County to win, He is also yet to say he isn't a Celtic fan that is bitter.

  9. Its surprising that we have more season ticket holders this season than last season though isn't it. That doesn't seem like glory hunting to me. I honestly can't believe you think your a god just because you used to watch a highland league team thats make it big. We are all supporters of ICT whether it was before the merger or not. Your attitude sucks.

Says they, preparing to go and support their other team at the scottish cup final! Oh....and where did i suggest i was a "god". I merely pointed out...that UNLIKE the overwhelming majority of ICT fans...i was supporting local football when many chose not to!

You didn't suggest you were a god, your acting like a god. Your downing hundreds of ICT fans is well, if not thousands as the 2500 you stated earlier. Not the correct way to go about things. If you don't want to go and support a local highland league team in a national scottish cup final then fine but i don't understand the need to dig at our "new" fans of 16 years. The sooner the attitude of fans like yourself are gone the better.

  10. Thats complete nonsense, Your saying that the 2500 that you speak of (which is now the majority) are glory hunters? You think that more than half of our support are glory hunters?

Well...the drop in the ICT support from what we got in the SPL would seem to suggest we are not short of fairweather fans!

I knew you would come out with the Kids argument....but you have to remember...for everyone thats born...one dies. So...it evens itself out. Fact is....where was these Inverness "football fans" back in the day when it was just Highland League on offer? To try and argue that the attendance increases have nothing to do with the level ICT are now playing at is rediculous! And they will further increase next season IF we find ourselves in the SPL!

Its surprising that we have more season ticket holders this season than last season though isn't it. That doesn't seem like glory hunting to me. I honestly can't believe you think your a god just because you used to watch a highland league team thats make it big. We are all supporters of ICT whether it was before the merger or not. 11. Rooney 24 goals this season

    Terry.........SIGN HIM UP NOW

He's already signed up for another year luckily

    GREAT.

Only dundee can stop us now

    C*unty can too!

County can catch us but if they win all their games in hand they'll be 4 points behind us. Meaning we need to lose twice or lose and draw in our last 3 matches. NO CHANCE!

  12. I get the impression you think fans after the merger are of less quality than pre merger fans. I don't understand what difference there is between a support from before and after.

Well.....how many ICT fans supported Inverness football back in the day? I did....I didnt just hop on board and decide i was going to start supporting local football coz it was a higher level of football we were seeing.....unlike the majority of our support. You cant argue with facts......ICT hs about 2500 more fans now than Caley and Thistle combined did..so...what were they all doing on match days when there were local teams needing their support? So to me....the likes of Birdy, myself and others of that ilk were more "fans" of football. If you cant see that...then...theres nothing left to say

Thats complete nonsense, Your saying that the 2500 that you speak of (which is now the majority) are glory hunters? You think that more than half of our support are glory hunters? I think you need a lesson in how the modern world lives and stop living in the old days. A good percent of our support were too young to support either Caledonian or Thistle and when i go to away days its the youth i see out in force making the noise to lift the team, so are they glory hunters just because they weren't around to see a team that wasn't as successful as ICT? Its not their fault.

I get the impression you think fans after the merger are of less quality than pre merger fans. I don't understand what difference there is between a support from before and after. They all follow the club and understand that Ross County are our rivals but even County fans were happy to see us beat Celtic for the Highlands. This isn't about supporting Ross County as a team its about supporting Ross County for the highlands. If you don't want to go then thats fine but to wish they lost today just makes me think you support Celtic, WHY would you want Celtic to beat County...thats crazy.

The same reason Rangers fans were supporting C*unty and the same reason Dundee fans will be supporting Raith and Dunfermline fans supporting Utd tomorrow.

I think the relationship between County and Caley is a fair bit different to Rangers and Celtic. I also doubt Dunfermline will be favouring Utd tomorrow. Teams in the first division actually want their rivals to do well against the bigger teams.

  15. Come on people no fighting we should all be happy we are getting closer and closer to the SPL and thats what matters

    Exactly, Mon the Caley!

This was only meant for a wee day out for some crack after our league season is over to promote how excellent the highland teams have done this season.

  16. Martin if your up for the game I'll go with you, hopefully we can get a small ICT following though and make a good day of it. As you've said before it's not about County its about the Highlands.

Hey guys, maybe if we don't get promoted you can go hold each other's hands at Victoria Park in the SPL.

Whats your problem? You just sound like the typical OF fans that you find down here in Paisley. I am an ICT fan, We ain't even in the Scottish Cup now so County have no rivalry against us in that cup.

We'd have no rivalry in the SPL either.

    What does that even mean?
