  1. This game yesterday was being built up on here like it was going to be similar to some of the great football derbies on the planet!!!!!

What a complete and utter damp squib it turned out to be, there is seriously something wrong when the away fans outnumber and outsing the home support

To be fair to the Elgin fans they generated a good atmosphere and if it wasn't for them the game would have passed by like a training exercise

Only ?10 to get in yet ICT cannot muster 1500 fans WTF? Don't think sitting in the main stand that i have ever seen the North Stand so empty and so quiet

Spoke to some older Elgin fans in the pub after the game and they couldn't believe how poor an atmosphere there was and how there was so few ICT fans, i must admit i had to agree with them sadly

They sang at the game what a sh***y home support and SPL yer having a laugh and they were completely justified on yesterdays debacle

Things can only get better i suppose so onwards and upwards lets hope we get an away tie in the netx round

  2. blink

After that performance yesterday it was maybe a blessing that the BBC never showed too much of the low lights

To scrape through literally against a mediocre third division/highland league outfit is highly embarrassing

Its time Butcher & Malpas started to address the pathetic home form situation or home fans will stay away just like they chose to do yesterday

  3. 1. We have now shown the Old Firm can't beat us!!

    2. We have now shown that our away record is second to none!!

    3. We have now shown we most definitely are a top six side at the very least and with a bit of luck and continuing form European football is most definitely an option next season

From what i read in the press the players most definitely believe it can happen so we the fans must also start believing

Is it time to look out the passports and start saving the Euro's as the club hopefully move up to the next level??

For £22.99 we can start getting kitted out at this early stage for our first trip into Europe, change the white shirt for an ICT top and i reckon we will look pretty impressive as we travel en masse

£29.99 for the lovely ladies :love03:

  4. Dougal, can you provide a link to one of the pictures from Mantis' site where there there are Union Jacks displayed? As someone who provided quite a few of the pictures for the Caley Nostalgia Site, I'd be quite surprised if you could. That's not to say that the Union Flag wasn't ever displayed at Telford Street, it undoubtedly was, but to suggest it was 'festooned' is quite ridiculous.

Caley were known as the Rangers of the North as they were the most successful Non-League side in the UK, much the same as Rangers as the most successful side in the UK Senior Leagues. For many people Rangers were also the Caledonian of the Scottish League :tongueincheek: .

Take it your camera was broken this day?

  5. How come you're on here fishing Dougal? All the lochs frozen?

    Why am i fishing?

Check the photo's on the Caley Nostalgia site, Telford St was festooned in union jacks at home games and you still get a few on display these days

IHE claims they were the Celtic of the North now thats what i classify as fishing!!!!

IHE also claims to be a so called Caley Animal however if thats the case how does he not get even one mention on Mantis's site

A fantasist who probably was a regular at Parkhead back in the day

Today we will see a capacity crowd at the Caledonian stadium where there will be as many Ork fans in amongst the home supporters but there will be NO trouble due to the underlying togetherness of both supports

I personally will be paying close attention to all supporters around about me and i will be reporting any orks to the closest constable to get them ejected

  6. Seeing as Glasgow comes to a standstill with a touch of the white stuff

Can anyone think up any witty chants.

The M80's not a car park, The M80's not a car park, na na na na, na na na na.

    BY THE WAY BUT,

    BY THE WAY, B--U--T,

    YOU CANT COPE WITH SNOW,

    BUY THE WAY BUT.

    Witty chants??:rotflmao:

If i was you i'd get the mods to delete this thread before it gets any more cringeworthy if thats at all possible

Having said that i'd still prefer to hear your chants than the govan/ulster orks

  7. Interesting article, with praise from an unlikely source.

    See here..

Who might he have in mind?

I'm hearing that Terry had a long chat with a certain Willie Mcstay while ICT were training through at the Highland football Academy in Dingwall

Possible further raid on our village neighbours could be on the cards??

  8. Just seen this on ebay:

Inverness CT loyal Ulster flag fridge magnet

WTF??? Am I missing something? Who the hell would buy this? Why would someone even make it?

Don't think you are missing something, weren't Caledonian and now ICT known as the Rangers of the North???

I could be wrong but Caley have always played in blue and now predominantly blue in ICT's case

I personally wouldn't purchase this product but i could think of a fair number of posters on this site who definitely would

  9. Best ref in Scotland IMHO. And a very nice chap too.

I've met Calum quite a few times. He genuinely is a nice guy. Would rangers winning or losing tonight be best for us facing them on Saturday...

You must be either related or attend the same lodge

  10. Or is he just a completely inadequate attention seeking t**t who thinks he hasn't had enough publicity of late?

Though long and hard about replying to this statement but thought better of it

This thread should be closed as its nothing but speculation

One thing i will say though is that all clubs have a minority of imbeciles who spoil it for everyone else, i'm not saying for one minute that this incident happened but Section G have a history of being involved in unsavoury incidents

And STILL the only club in Scottish Football you have not beat

    Oh you are my City........

Diddy Club, diddy support, diddy eatern european ground!!!!

The sooner Elgin re-apply to the Highland League the better as they are an embarrassment to the scottish game

  12. That extends into the football. All any stranger has to do is make it known he is willing to talk ICT and they're made welcome and invited to join your company. That seed of interest is nurtured and people are accepted into the fold without prejudice...what's even better is the fact that we, as a community, tend to do it without thinking about it.

This forum is full of people who's "First Encounters" would have been made in the above manner.

    :amazed:

There is NO WAY i would go up to a complete stranger in Inverness and start discussing ICT, i have experienced at first hand unpleasantness and animosity towards myself and ICT whilst out drinking in the city

Fair enough if you are in the Caley Thistle club surrounded by fellow ICT fans well that maybe the case but you are wrong to say that everyone is willing to discuss ICT and make you welcome

Even on this forum i've not really been made particularly welcome by some, i've even been targeted by a red dot campaign which has caused me a lot of heartache

  13. I am one of the organisers of the Cromarty Film festival. We invite interesting people to come to Cromarty and have a chat about cinema and then we screen their favourite film. We had invited Derek Adams but he went off to Hibs. We then asked Terry B but he was otherwise engaged. So at the last minute Duncan Shearer has agreed to be a substitute. His favourite film is Whisky Galore and it will be shown at Cromarty School 19:00 hrs on Saturday night, 4th December. Duncan will be chatting with the audience before and after the screening. Details on our website www.cromartyyfilmfestival.org

I think big Dunc is a good choice, he will fit in really well with the locals who in my experience all appear to be fellow gingers

    :notlistening:lalalalalalalalalalala

    Wow very childish posts :slapme:

Terry Butcher will NOT be going to Pittodrie the Aberdeen fans will make sure of that

Any higher profile job that now becomes available Terry will be linked too

Terry will be away in the future that i have no doubt but this is not the time to jump ship and Terry himself knows that

  15. Put another nickle in ........... FOUR so far Mantis - one is a season tkt holder in Section G , other two are up fer Elgin - plus one reply from Poole in Dorset from the only Englishman in the firm :rotflmao::rotflmao: We are talking about the mid 70's here.

YMIP - the joke is that we were just a bunch of mates who liked a good drink (etc.) and a laff - a scrap in those days was practically part of the day out.

    All FOUR :amazed:

Dearie me i can see this turning into a right bloodbath lets hope the Northern Constabulary will contact their southern colleagues so they can deploy their mounted police branch to this one :rotflmao: :rotflmao:

  16. It may well have been banter, but didn't notice anyone else getting booed throughout the match?? Also I heard a few folk around me passing comment that they thought it was poor show and when I watched him coming off the pitch I thought it was very noticeable that he didn't look up to the crowd at all. Maybe he did smirk, but I bet he was pretty peed off with it by the end of the match. There was more effort put into booing him than there was cheering Roy throughout the match - not quite right somehow????

I agree with you madsooz regardless of what sectionG think off Brewster to boo him on Roy's big night shows a total lack of respect

Section G = Lack of class

  17. It's a cup game though Dougal. That's the way septic viewed us in 2000...

ICT were a first division club in 2000 not a poor struggling third division outfit like Elgin so thats a stupid comparison to make

If Terry plays the first team i would be really surprised if the scoreline wasn't at least 5-0 to ICT

As for Elgin taking through a large support what rubbish i reckon they'll take 500-600 tops

They are lucky to get 500 at home games

IMO Elgin should re-apply to the Highland League as their senior life as been one big joke since day one and they bring absolutely nothing to the party

  18. Seems this 'rivalry' is a lot more one sided!

    I agree Joe

Elgin still see ICT as Caley but this of course is no longer the case

Elgin are no different to your East Stirlings or Montrose to us

What it does suggest is that Elgin fans are of very low intellect

This will be an easy game for ICT against inferior opposition and one which i think Terry will send out a weakened side

    I predict ICT 3 Elgin O :ictscarf:

  19. Wouldn't there be more income from advertisers if the site was open to all?

Excellent point, advertising could make this site a tidy sum certainly a lot more than any donation i personally could make

the site IS open to all ... you just have to register. However, leaving the semantics of 'open to all' or 'guest' versus 'member' aside, the simple answer is no, there is no evidence to suggest we would generate more revenue with one model over the other.

Other than Google we do not have any paid advertisers and our Google income is pretty much unaffected by raw pageviews. Like every other site - P&B included - we cater to a fairly narrow 'niche' market (in our case, ICT fans, in P&B's case, fans of all teams) and whilst it is appealing to some advertisers, it does not have the same draw for others .....

We are not running CTO as a profit making exercise so this lack of advertising doesnt really bother us too much. If we can make most of our hosting costs back via Google Ads and supplement that with the odd bit of sponsorship or donations here and there we are quite happy. We prefer to use CTO as our own marketing tool to showcase the work we can do for other clients who come to us for web design help or projects.

Fair enough you claim you are not running CTO as a profit making exercise and thats entirely up to you but to say the lack of advertising doesn't bother you shows short sightedness IMO

There is no point complaining about the running costs while on the other hand advertising doesn't seem to be considered an option

Profits could be re-invested in improving the site or donations made directly to ICT
