Has the Semi Final defeat got to the players?
gingerjaggy replied to CalumThistleFC's topic in Caley Thistle
I dont think what happened at Easter Road has caused this i think it was more the schedule. Had we beaten harts we still be on a high but we didnt and we were bound to have some hangover on wednesday due to the physical and maybe slight mental exertions the players had to cope with. But had celtic battered St Mirren then they also would not have been in a good place, as it was they were on a high and they had the better of the 1st half. But second half w really did control the game and even though we didnt create a hat full of chances we did have a few which we should have taken and would have seen us win the game. Yesterday though i think we the team we put out it is was always going to be hard especially if we lost the first goal. Killie are a decent side and the team that was put had mainly all featured the whole week and as seen foran came off and and shinnie also with shinnie's to do with with alot of football being played in a short space of time. All in all 3 away days with such a small squad was always going to be tough but the players get a break now and will hopefully be fresher for celtic and lets stick the boot into them again because there is still a lot the club could achieve and getting into the top 6 or higher could allow the club to keep hold of few more players so next season Butcher isnt looking to replace a whole team. With this we could maybe add 1 or 2 more experienced players to squad and have another cup run next year. -
out of both cups in a week sighhhhhhhhh

Don't think so. He probably did wait too late to change it but the team was so dominant for most of the second half that I can see why he stuck. Much better footballing performance than Saturday, and as a result I probably feel more gutted tonight than then, when I didn't think we deserved anything from the game. The biggest problem was the final ball - all of our attacker were guilty of not looking up or seeming too casual at the vital moment after a lot of good possession and build-up play. I liked the look of Devine at the back - very composed, with a nice touch. OTJ had an excellent second half and Doran worked well all night, but Andrew Shinnie looked a little off the boil compared to recent games. I agree a much better performance but just lacked a cutting edge at times

very strange that butcher took so long to make changes
-
we have been the better side and yet one hoof and thompson scores
-
well just another couple and we can forgive billy for his off day
-
gutted i said billy's miss was an open goal but someone next to me said the ball was played behind him but nope it was as bad as you are likely to ever see. The performance was not there and even against 10 men we still resorted to desperate hoofs instead of pushing them back and exerting really pressure like they did after we scored. All in all a missed opportunity but remember these players have been exceptional this season apart from a select few games so we just get on with it continue to maintain our league form and see if we cn progress to hampden and another semi and hopefully final in april and may

been snowing very heavy in Stirling all day but it has just stopped and all the roads and rail are operating as normal so it should be ok

I for one would rather have the whole bottom tier sold out full of fans of the club that want to go and have a great time and make a vibrant atmosphere than sell the whole stand and have many people sitting there in silence like home games. So we haven't sold out does it matter all that matters is the result not how many fans we can generate
-
anyone know how the sales going, are we any nearer to selling the bottom tier out?
-
he hasnt rejected our offer he hasnt signed probably seeing what options he has but he can still accept our one
-
billy again 3-0 points in the bag roll on next week
-
billy makes it 2-0 yesssssss

doesnt sound like many chances for either side

The thing is attendances aint dwindling we have never had massive crowds apart from old firm games which has fallen because the novelty has gone and no one wants to listen to those mugs spread there vile any more. I gave up my season ticket as i am now down in england so it isnt viable but i try to get to a few games and of course will be at the semi final. It will get better as the club grows in stature but with scottish football as it is and a club that is very young competing to to fight the old firm influence it isnt easy
-
think that is wrong a hearts st holder a mate of mine has suggested they are close to selling all 3 stands and after having a look on there online ticket centre they have 3 seats left in the east stand, 249 left in the usual away stand and 257 in the main stand so they will be probs sell out or be very close.

yeah but does greens proposal contain the same structural changes as Caley D says this proposal isn't great but the the structural issues with financial distribution, one league body and better fairer voting system. The idea of a 14-14-14 sounds good but without the main structural isues it sounds like green has put this forward to make sure rangers regain the power they lost with the demotion. Green is a very clever man who has tried to play the dashing hero in rangers fans eyes and now he is trying to be any supporters champion by proposing a league structure that fans will want more than what is on the table. I for one would prefer 12-12-18 with the structural change that will make things more democratic so that change can continue to develop in the future than a nicer 14-14-14 that relly is just a carrot on a stick to get backing so that rangers get back up in a few years and we return to a status quo because it doesnt have the structural change. 12-12-18 love it or hate but at least the proper changes behind the scenes will mean that it will be easier to change in the future than return to the old firm dictatorship.
